I tried updating info with GE enrollment center twice. Every time I was told by staff it's impossible while I-751 is pending. The problem is with kiosk when it asks for document (GC). If it's expired, it won't allow to proceed and refer to human.

Oh ok, didn't realize visa was aleady granted. Too late then. FYI it can take over a year to receive a AP.

1) It may take many months to receive AP 2) Why not just marry, file I-130 and consular process? K-1 and AOS are primarily for those who want to come to the US and go through immigration while living in the US. It's more expensive, more restrictive in terms of travel than CR-1 / IR-1

Regular US passport has very few pages, compared to my regular European passport. That's why suggesting. Not that you'd need many visas anymore to travel the world, but maybe for stamps?

By the way, @A110 make sure to watch today's episode of Immigration Show on YouTube. First caller. Somebody with pending I-751 filed for N-400. They got to combo interview. Because of small evidence (and past history), IO ran a stokes interview by separating couple. US citizen was scared into withdrawing I-751. It's unlikely this happens to you, but you need to have mental capacity to deal with immigration. I wouldn't take immigration lightly. Maybe waiting for I-751 to be approved without interview is a viable option if you're not in a rush to naturalize.

+1 @Olga&Jared I'd recommend applying for large passport book. It's not larger in size, but has more pages. It doesn't cost any more than regular passport book. Also, passport card is a nice bonus if money isn't an issue. It serves as additional proof of US citizenship and identity. Could be used as a backup if something happens to the passport, though cannot be used for international air travel. And lastly - you can pay a visit to SSA and update citizenship status. And register to vote. Have fun!

Even if this is shared with embassy, I don't see how this could be a problem. Seeing MIT or studying at MIT is not an immigrant intent.

I had that experience first hand. The kiosk asks to scan document, you scan expired GC. There's no option to scan extension letter. The kiosk tells you to see an agent. You walk to them (still in GE line), they ask you for GC and extension letter. Sometimes they also ask for passport. Then they ask a question or two and let you in.

Maybe things changed in the last 5 months. I'll be travelling this winter and will give an update. It won't be as interesting as I'll be travelling on 10 year GC now 😎

Double checked. I-130 asks for petitioner's Alien Registration Number.

It depends. If you're sponsoring somebody for immigration benefit, I'm sure it's asked for again. Sponsoring others? I may be wrong, but forms may be asking for Alien number

All forms in the front, all evidence at the end. That's how my AOS and I-751 packets were submitted. Both approved.

Why don't you apply online?

@Petition2252 you don't need to duplicate any evidence. You're submitting AOS as one packet. All the evidence can go at the end of packet. It's shared by all forms.

Agreed. @irertwert, nationality in this context = citizenship If asked about previous nationalities held, you may need to include USSR. I'm not 100% sure but that's I think.

Based on that it's hard to prove e-requests had any effect. It's possible they got ignored and USCIS scheduled the interview when they got to schedule it...

Congratulations!!! I heard it's not uncommon to see some pending status for I-751 even months after oath. I wouldn't pay attention to online status anymore.

Hi @AW1704 I had mixed success. One time I had experience just like yours - full facial recognition etc. Was a breeze. But other times I got the old machines requiring to scan documents. Everybody around me also had to scan docs. This is when expired 2 year GC and extension letter wouldn't work and I had to see a human. The interesting part, I believe in September 2022 I came through SFO and had full facial fecognition experience, but June 2023 had to scan the docs, and that was also at SFO.

Hi @sk8erord You should file for all documents, even if she currently has EAD. They're free with I-485. Knowing how difficult and long it is to obtain those, you should always request them even if you don't have an immediate need.

You can probably file WoM to get a decision on your case.

It's your case after all, @A110 If you cannot do preparation of docs personally, can your US citizen spouse assist with that? Nobody can ever guarantee your case will go smooth with minimal evidence at time of submission. N-400 under 3 year rule requires you proving your marriage. I believe, strict interpretation depending on IO may require you submitting all evidence from start of marriage to current date even though you already did for I-751. I don't see what you gain from submitting bare minimum, especially if you're going to bring more evidence to the interview. You'll have to go through this now or later. With or without RFE. There's a small chance you'll never be asked for more evidence. But is it worth weakening the case?
