    You can find answers about next steps after naturalizing here: https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship-resource-center/new-us-citizens In short: update status in SSA, notify employer, also get passport. The reason to get passport (and card ID) is to have additional proofs of your citizenship. Also, it takes months to get US passport, so it would be a good idea to get it done sooner. You are required to leave and re-enter USA on US passport.

    You'll probably have to wait for official letter in the mail. After all, you'll need it to attend the oath ceremony. The IT issue may get fixed in few days by itself. Just keep checking periodically?

    As a Canadian citizen, you're always welcome back to Canada, in any capacity. Whether you're transiting or coming back to work or live. That's what citizenship grants you. If it makes financial sense and doesn't add too much of a delay to your itenary, then why not? 🙂

    Also, it wouldn't hurt to carry certified copy or marriage certificate proving the name change if you end up travelling on current passport.

    Do you have time to update Canadian passport before the trip to reflect your current legal name e.g. married name? If you do that, should have to problems at all. Otherwise, see @Dashinka comment.

    @FamilyBased485 if you have extension lettee that is still valid and expired GC, that's all you need besides valid passport to travel to Canada.

    No, see above. Usually, a decision cannot be made if you're in "in between" state, e.g. neither divorced nor living together.

    Did you get this in writing from the attorney? Or just verbally? That's usually not the case. You either need to be married living together OR be divorced to get I-751 approved. There's no in between state that will get you easily approved. Occasionally some with exceptional circumstances get approved, when separation is involuntary. Is your attorney coming to the interview with you?

    You have good evidence, however your husband moving out before I-751 approval and no official divorce will make this: very improbable. Most likely, decision won't be made. The IO will likely advise converting petition to divorce waiver and issue you RFE to provide divorce decree. You probably need to withdraw your N-400. Have you consulted an immigration attorney and family attorney? Your situation is not end of the world, but you do need to have a solid plan to make it work. Sometimes that involves postponing interview, filing for divorce etc.

    Removal of conditions. Someone hoped for combo interview, e.g. I-751 and N-400, but only got I-751 with no result.

    How are you entering the US? On B1/B2 visa? Esta? I was under impresion this could fall under "business activity" which both B1 and Esta allow. This is not a legal advice.

    On May 31st, 2023, were you an LPR for over 5 years? Or did you file before you had full 5 years of residency? Many are eligible to file 90 days early. If you filed 90 days early and your interview is before you have full 5 years of residency, this gives USCIS right to deny N-400.

    Sometimes applying for N-400 can lead to you losing GC if conditions were not removed properly. Where you married living together when your I-751 got approved? Do you have proof of that? If yes, full steam ahead at 5 year mark (with good preparation and potentially legal representation).

    Yes, of course. Life doesn't stop while I-751 is pending. Yes, it preferred method for I-9. Use valid state ID / DL and unrestricted SSN card to avoid re-verification in the future. Good luck!

    @Pbchief2 did you send all pages of every bank statement / bill? Did you send every month or skipped some? It may also be a case of USCIS wanting to see some fresh evidence since you filed the case.

    Sorry for generalized reply, I'd follow the principle "If in doubt - keep as is". If it's that important you'd wait whatever it takes, right?

    Hi @Kristy1456 Some I-751 petitions take years to get approved. No wonder you have this question. After filing I-751, few weeks later (2-6 weeks) you will receive a I-797 form, aka "extension letter". It will extend the green card by 48 months. You can reenter the US with it, but need to have it with you as well as expired green card. It's best to travel to Europe via big hubs such as Paris CDG. They'd know how to deal with it. Also big US airlines such is United can help eliminating issues. Here is thread discussing travelling on such extension letter:

    Wanted to ask this question as I see more and more threads referring to the term "neutralization", when filing form N-400.
