  1. As far as I know, you only file one I-751 petition and pay $750. 1a is the answer for basis of petition. List child in the Part 5 and check box Yes for question 11 - Is this child applying with you? Make sure your wife takes part in filling I-751. It's her and her daughter's petition. She needs to know all the answers as she ultimately responsible for all of them. You as a US citizen only sign petition in Part 8. All other info on the from is from your wife's point of view and knowledge.
  2. It's not unusual for packet to take 4-8 weeks to be processed until you get receipt in the mail. Don't forget, a month ago was Christmas. Then followed shortly by New Year and January 9th. At least those three days USCIS was closed.
  3. Of course, I-765 depends on underlying case such as I-485
  4. I'm making sure nobody misinterprets that MyProgress appearing or disappearing has anything to do with case actually progressing. It disappears and appears independently for many cases sitting still without any updates. Hopefully Emma told you some real information, half of the time it's made up. Current processing times for Philadelphia is 7.5 months - https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ While that information is also super unreliable, most of the times cases take at least the stated processing time. So for Philadelphia filers in November 2024, I wouldn't expect many interviews until 6-7 months into the process, which lands us in May-June of 2025. Good luck and keep us posted!
  5. I'm making sure nobody misinterprets that MyProgress appearing or disappearing has anything to do with case actually progressing. It disappears and appears independently for many cases sitting still without any updates. Hopefully Emma told you some real information, half of the time it's made up. Whatever they told you looks too optimistic. You only filed in November 2024, and as you know many September and even July 2024 filers are waiting for interview. Good luck and keep us posted!
  6. Where there is a will, there is a way. If you're asking whether your case will be approved without meeting again... Technically, yes, it can get approved. We cannot give any solid predictions. But in general, marrying somebody without seeing them at least few times in person is a risk, both immigration wise and life wise. It's in your own benefit to meet them again. You can decide for yourself. Good luck!
  7. This can be safely ignored. MyProgress has constant outages, appearing and disappearing for subsets of users from time to time.
  8. Great to hear about progress! Not sure how W-2s are relevant for I-751, I wouldn't send them in. Good luck!
  9. Once you get 10 year GC with new name or naturalize, you can go to SSA and update the name there. Meanwhile mismatch is OK.
  10. This is pretty normal for N-400 and definitely for N-400 with pending I-751.
  11. No, you have to update it with SSA yourself. I would have recommended waiting until naturalization for the name change if you asked before I-751 was filed.
  12. Tax return transcripts? I was under impression that's exactly what USCIS / DOS prefers.
  13. @Andy davies was last seen on VJ on July 31, 2023. Don't expect answers soon.
  14. TBH, when I had pending I-751 (Dec 2021 - Aug 2023) there was a point in time when SRC was the fastest service center. Things switch around without apparent reason or warning pretty often at USCIS.
  15. No. Attach copy of 2 year GC with I-751.
  16. You need to get ADIT (I-551) stamp in your passport ASAP. Call USCIS, ask for InfoPass. Describe your urgent situation and hopefull you'll get an appointment to get stamp that's valid for a year.
  17. Scan photos. Place them in word document, 3-4 photos per page. Add captions under each photo: Date, location, occasion, names of people from left to right with relationship to each other. Print it. Done.
  18. Yes, and not only because of immigration, but for personal reason. It's best to know the person in real life before committing to marry.
  19. 10 years (40 quarters) of social security earned by immigrant OR naturalization of immigrant is when obligations of sponsor stop. So if sponsor's wife has been LPR for 10 years but she only has 30 quarters of social security earned, for example, sponsor is still liable.
  20. This estimate can be safely ignored. It provides wrong information all the time.
  21. B1 / B2 is cheaper and faster to get compared to GC. You won't believe how many people get B1 / B2 to violate immigration laws and overstay. If officer is not convinced in non-immigrant intent, then the only way is GC.
  22. If she has enough income for her household size + beneficiary
  23. Yes, even people with 0 income can file taxes. Filing taxes and paying taxes is not the same.
  24. N-400 cannot be completed without I-751. Hopefully either you get I-751 approved before N-400 interview or have a combo interview.
