nice to see my original quote still floating around. hope it helps someone
just an update on my status. we are now schedualed for our K1 interview in BKK on Jan 5 2024. so i posted this in July of 23 when USCIS  was working our month.. took 496 days to get our NOA2 approval..  i still believe that if i were to do it all over again knowing what i do now id do the CR1 ticket.. when i get my fiancean the K2's here to the US i have to file for change of status an then file for her to be able to work an then an then more things.. costs an time differance after the approval favors the CR1..  in my opinion.
When we went the K1 an K2 direction i thought it was best for the kids an im not sure how the USCIS  factures them into the equation for the K1 vs the CR1.. so we went the safe route.
Good luck on your visa adventure.. this site is a gold mine of information..

If you are looking for the fastest way to be together in the USA, keep with the K1. Idk why anyone would advise otherwise or for that matter suggest the CR1 is better/faster/even close to the same speed - IT IS NOT. Just browse around the forums here, FB and other places then you will see there are CR1 4-5 years in the process, which you're mostly never going to find with the K1. Every situation is different so take these as my opinions, but my fiance and I were faced with this same choice 1 1/2 years ago and I'm very glad we chose the K1 route.

On the waiting portion, just focus on WHY you started the process, STAY POSITIVE, and when you start feeling crazy waiting, talk through it or find something to take your mind off of it. I found that it was helpful to just forget about it for months at a time and focus on laughing with my girl from afar. But whatever you do, try not to let doubts/worry/negative creep in.

At 8 months in you're still about half way or less into the journey. It will be another 8 months or so before you get NOA2, pass through NVC and schedule the Medical and Visa interview. Medical is a hurdle in and of itself to pass through as 1 in 7 patients are pinged for Sputum and need at minimum 2 months to wait those results, and more for treatment if Sputum samples come back positive. After the interview you will wait again to get the passport back, and only after that the last interview can be scheduled which is CFO. CFO is required to leave the Pi with a K1.

Stay strong, stay positive and remember why you started this journey.

LIFE IS SHORT AND TIME GOES BY FAST - so too will these processes once they are complete.

I know just how you feel.. we are may 11th an watched a good majority get approved all around our date during the July time period.. then watched an watched..  until Aug 28th when we finall got notification of some movement. we got a RFE.. happy to see movement sad it wasnt an approval. So we returned the RFE an finally  we got our NOA2.. 490 days.. Use this time to get ready for after the NOA2 because you know it's gonna come an soon.. not like where we were 9 months ago.. Knowing its coming but later than sooner...
So hang in their... its coming sooner than later..

The I-134 is completed and a signed scanned copy can be sent to your partner to print and take to the interview. I would wait though til closer to the interview date to complete and send it to them; USCIS updates their forms periodically and if she happens to bring an outdated form it will cause problems.

My I-129F, I had actually filled it out in early March 2022, but due to delays in some paperwork I needed for evidence I wasn’t able to submit it until May 2022. I double checked USCIS’s website before mailing only to find that they had just released a new version of the I-129F. Had to redo that before mailing… very glad I thought to check.

iv read most of the replies here an aside from all the USCIS legal stuff which is spot on here i have to say the C1 is the route to go..
One thing i read in your front post was that you wonted to get your life going with your diance.  i think getting married is the best step to kick starting that adventure..
Im currently a K1 waiting for my NOA2 an i filed in May of 2022. i believe the wait for the 2 forms at present are about the same. My fiance an i wonted to get married in the US an at the time that was a good idea. Now after 14 months of waiting im regretting not getting married an filing a C1 we could have started our future together an yes it would have started in another country but would have ended up in the US. Now we feel like were stuck in the mud with no control of our future waiting on USCIS to do something in a logical manner.. theirs a numerical sequence for a reason but to no avail their running amuck in their approval sequence..
Then after we so get to the US because we are K1 visa filers we'll finally get married an we hav to deal with all the other stuff not on our time but USCIS's time frame... so we'll be waiting. Again...

Were so with you on this were May 11th 22 NOA1 an now the excitement has turned into OMG what the heck is going on.. 🤣LoL... well the excitement is still there its just the maddning frustration of seeing the later days get their approvals thats keeping me wondering and up at nights.. Like you said even tho i knew it would happen an im very happy for them.. But i have this vision of this white neatly put together binder just sitting there as the agent brings more packages over to his desk an sets them on top of that white bider...🤯
Im in Bangkok with my fiancé this month an she scans everyday to keep track of the approvals an stuff so im getting an eye full everyday several times a day.. Plus our being 12hrs ahead of the U.S is something to add too.
Thanks for posting or venting as you said.. it made our day we laughed so hard just to  relised that were not alone.. it's nice to be able to laugh about our situation. It lightens the moment..
So hang in there brother were on the same tree branch.. An congrats to all you approvals for May so far.. were gonna be right behind you...😀

yea add the long weekend to that statement an you'v got a complete picture.. when USCIS processed after our date we were intially confused then thought it was the way the packets were distributed amongst the agents.. Now were a little baffled an on the edge of our seats everyday checking..
So hang in there people were so close... Man are we close...
