  1. I’m due to be moving to the US in the coming months on a CR-1.

I’m currently employed for a company that operates here in the UK as well as the US.

They’re aware that I’m leaving soon and conversations are beginning about potentially transferring within the company. However, this is subject to a position being available etc.

What is the potential of working remotely for my UK office during the interim if there isn’t a position immediately available? I’m authorized to work in the US but I’m interested to know what potential tax implications there could be? Is it worth the hassle or is it better to take on a temporary job and then switch to my US office once everything is good to go?

Im sure an internal transfer will go ahead, but I’m just working on a back up plan just in case!

Has anyone had a similar experience?

How long does USCIS take after they receive the RFE supporting documents? for i-130

They told me they received my RFE documents last Thursday. How long do they take to have a decision?

    PD: March 19, 2022

    RFE: Jan 4, 2023

RFE Documents Received by USCIS: February 23, 2023

Someone correct me if im wrong but I believe they should take up to 60 days to respond to RFE.

Fingers crossed you hear back way before then.

Wow! That's speedy! Do you have a sample of what you asked? I want to make sure it's worded properly haha

We based our request on the ever changing time frames and case transfers. We were originally set for a 6 month wait time with Nebraska. Now we’re at 12 months with Potomac and we only found that out a few weeks ago.

We don’t expect USCIS will expedite our congressional inquiry based on this but it was worth a shot.

But that was the main bones of the request. Topped up with the “it sucks being apart from each other” and in also transferring to my US office with work. They have a great position waiting for me but they’re not going to hold that forever.

So weird. Our K3 application we sent on April 15, 2022 says "Your case status is unavailable at this time. We are working to get you accurate information as soon as possible." on MyUSCIS. It's said that for over a week now. Shows our I-130 status without issue.

    Very strange.

How long ago did you file your K3?

We're thinking of doing it if we dont get any updates by next month.

Potomac is working on case filed on NOV 2021. 14 months instead of 12 months like you saw.

I’ve kinda just given up guessing at this point ahaha I’m seeing people at Potomac with PD dates in august getting approved at the moment. It is what it is.

We made a congressional enquiry a few weeks ago as our estimates have gone from 6 to 10 to 12 months over this process. So hopefully that might kick things along.

  6. I had a simular situation!

I contacted my GP and all they had on record from birth was my covid vaccines. I explained that I will need to prove my childhood vaccines for immigration and they offered a full course of MMR, TB/Polio to be done again so I'm freshly up to date.

The only one they are unable to offer for free is Hep B. I have looked around and most pharmacies will offer a full course for around £130.

Personally id rather have everything redone so there are no delays. You may be able to provide an antibody test to the clinic in London to prove that you have immunity but without contacting them myself I don't know if thats an option.

  7. Hey Everyone!

Im sure I already know the answer this but I thought I would raise it here in case anyone would like to weigh in.

My wife and I are around 10 months into our wait for our I-130. During this time my passport that I used for the paperwork has since been renewed. Ive kept my old passport to in case it is needed for the next stages.

I am planning a 2 week trip out in June with my family from the UK to visit my wife and her family. If by any stroke of luck we're approved and visa in hand by then I will adjust my flight to a one way.

However, I will need to apply for an ESTA using my new passport. I know the two are separate but would this cause any issues as I have a pending I-130 and would it make sense to bring both passports on the trip just in case eyebrows are raised or is it not an issue at all?

I know it seems a bit wild to plan a trip this far into the process but im overly pessimistic that we still have quite some time to wait.

While you can get necessary vaccinations at the medical exam, they will charge you for everything you get there.

That’s ultimately what I’m trying to avoid! I could do without a nice bill for a few hundred pounds when I could have got it for cheaper or from my GP surgery.

And thanks for the heads up about the red book! I’ll grab it from mum when it comes to exam time.

  9. Long story short, all of my vaccination records as a child were destroyed in a fire back in the early 90's before this kind of thing was archived online.

In preparation for the next steps in the immigration process Ive noticed that I have to provide vaccine certifications as part of my medical exam. I went to the doctors surgery today and asked for a list of my vaccination history on the off chance that every I needed is there. But according to my record I've only had my vaccines for covid and measles.

Now I know I've had all my required vaccinations as a child/teenager. My mum kept a record of them but I don't think notes in a small red book are going to be official enough here.

So I'm wondering what the best route to take next would be. Could I provide an antibody test at my medical exam? Or is it a hardline stance on Vaccine Certificates only?

And if so, I'm happy to get stabbed a bunch again but could these all of these be administered by the NHS or would pharmacies be the better way to go?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated!
