Having an already approved I130 will help since you do not need to wait for that approval before the I485 is processed.  That being said, I485's process on their own time clock.  Is your I485 being processed as an employment based application or a family based application?

Don't you already have a company lawyer do the work here?  Regardless, lawyers cannot speed up processing times at USCIS.

Evidence of an ongoing marriage, but not a basis for expedite.

The only potential would be if you receive an RFE for more or missing evidence.

I am not sure about the last question.  Usually NBC handles transfers between offices, so maybe that means your I485 is being moved to your local office.

    Good Luck!

Thank you! So the long processing times (10-18 months) I'm seeing for family based AOS in USCIS are because of waiting to get I130 approved first? with that being said should I send an email to kind of get officer's attention to the case being already approved to not expedite but at least skip the waiting time people normally have for the I130 approval, as I have a priority date of 15 March 2022?

    It's a family based application - I485 - based on my approved I130.

I have a company lawyer office but they are not really helpful, they already wasted 3 months as they forgot that I still have to file I864! They don't really help here they are just doing their job that's why I was looking into getting maybe an attorney or sending a message to my congressmen to get it somehow moved based on my I130 approval.

Do you normally receive RFEs before a biometrics is scheduled or after you do your biometrics? I assumed that they scheduled my biometrics so they won't be asking for RFE.

For the last question, looks like I'm still in NBC and haven't moved to a specific service center yet, do you have any idea when I can know this piece of information? Because service centers vary in processing times.

  2. Hello,

I was waiting for my interview at the embassy in Cairo for CR1 marriage visa and green card (Have approved I130 and DQ since June 2023), however my company transferred me inside the US with L1A visa.

They have filed for me the AOS and asked for the I130 approval notice and I received the receipt notice for I-485 yesterday with biometrics scheduled next week.

    Questions:

1- Will have an already approved I130 notice make the process much easier? I have a priority date in the notice of March 15 2022 when we started our immigration journey, would that make it faster than the normal processing times I'm seeing of 12-18 months?

2- If the answer for number one is no, If I get a lawyer or attorney to support with that would it make a difference?

3- We had a baby 3 months ago when I entered the U.S! would that be a strong evidence where I can send the birth certificate and email them to move my case faster?

4- What is the normal timeline and events? I know it's receipt notice then biometrics then an interview, is there anything I'm missing?

5- I received the receipt notice with national benefits center in the bottom, is that my service center? Because I can't see any processing time for this service center.

Thank you and sorry for the long post!!

  3. Hello,

My company has blanket L1 processing and is going to schedule an appointment for me

I checked in Travel state website and it's saying that wait time for interview is 5 days which is what i told my company, however i tried to go in Cairo Embassy website and see available appointments if i wanna schedule one, I found out its saying first appointment is 12 March 2024!!! Is this true or when i go through it will be reduced?

Thank you, desperately need good news!

I know some of the larger multinational companies will have in house capability otherwise they would use a Lawyer.

    Is this L1A or L1B

Does the Company have blanket approval.

L1A and the company have blanket approval "Blanket Petition Processing" as called in the website but they didn't mention when they do use it or let you file individually with USCIS.

Actually your problem is that your Employer does not have an Immigration Lawyer, or do you mean they do not have one yet and are going to appoint one.

L1 is dual intent so does not itself conflict with a CR1 and you could switch to adjusting status.

Haha no I'm saying that I need advise cause we don't have one.

Thanks! Was just afraid they'd say in the embassy wait for your CR1 interview and so on..

  6. Hello everyone,

I'm going for an internal transfer in my company from Egypt to the U.S and they can issue L1 visa for me.

The problem is I'm currently DQ for CR1 visa and only waiting for Interview in Embassy of US in EGYPT for my marriage based green card but it will take so long as it's backlogged around 6 months to be able to get the interview and green card.

Will the embassy reject the L1 visa application because of the situation or it's fine? and when I go there can I complete the process (all is done anyway only waiting for interview) to get the green card? Company doesn't have immigration lawyer so I'm seeking help here.

    Thanks!

Hello everyone! I have been following VJ for a while now and decided I would sign-up and create my timeline. I am anxiously awaiting for my husband's interview letter. We were documentarily qualified April 14, 2023. By following a few other members posts, I thought we would be receiving our interview letter this month and maybe October being the interview. It is hard finding information on the U.S. embassy in Cairo as far as what documentarily month they are working on. I would appreciate any information any of you are aware of and if there are any other sites I can go for more information. Thank you and good luck to all of you! ❤️

    Hello there!

    Hey guys-

we were DQed for our marriage on jule 13, 2023.

any feedback to when I will receive a interview date in Cairo. Also I’m following to see if there is a Facebook group I can join too. Egypt here.

Hello! They say normal times between 4 to 6 months, however no interview letters were sent in July and rumours started spreading that because of Sudan cases and Lottery the embassy is getting heavily occupied again :(

    1.  No. CC is the same as DQ. Case goes no where until NVC is satisfied with all documents

    2.  No.  It remains case load and staffing dependent

I think not, I see cases where I864 is not satisfying or with W2's or other stuff are missing during the interview and it goes to administrative processing, whereas now you can't be DQed if these documents are not uploaded and approved, and Now there are no packets to be sent before interview (Speaking of IR1/CR1 only as this is what I'm looking at).

With regard to 2, that’s still the process for many. All EB applicants have to mail their documents and cannot upload them via CEAC.

Aha, But I think now for IR1/CR1 it's not the same because this is what I've been looking at.

  10. Hello everyone,

I’ve been digging in past posts and figured that the procedure was different than it is now, like

1- some people used to call it case complete instead of documentarily qualified, and you’d get interview date even if your documents are not okay.
2- send packages before the interview of documents instead of uploading it before in CEAC where NVC revises them and make sure they are okay or send RFE

3- alot of people got yellow slips for documents that NVC now doesn’t give you a DQ if you don’t upload them.

Does that mean that some people used to have interview when their documents weren’t really ready and wasn’t revised?

And with the new system do we except better interview timing and faster process?

I hope the process gets faster for everyone! I will ask my husband if there is a facebook group I can provide for you! From my experience they schedule around the middle of the months until the end. I think they don’t schedule the first part of the month. I am most sure if that’s 100% true. I got DQ February 7th 2023and got my interview letter June 14th 2023. Also keep in mind after getting the interview letter I had to wait 2 months for the interview which still hasn’t happened yet. So it’s around a 7-8month process after DQ for me. Also if you are approved at the interview(which isn’t guaranteed to be real until you actually receive the visa) It’s a10-15 business day wait to receive your visa. I don’t want to discourage you but I recommend doing as much research as you can as well on what is needed to get through the interview and get approved. Lots of people are have to wait extra months or years after the interview because of missing papers or they needed a security check. It’s hard to get out of Egypt. My husband got a lot of information from a facebook group. I will ask him what it is. I really wish the best for you and you get to be there for child birth!  It might be very difficult to believe you will get to be there but keep that hope!

Yes I hope so too! I'm trying my best thank you so much for the advice!

Goodluck to your husband with the interview and I hope you come back with good news soon! :)

Hi! These days it’s taking around 4.5-6 months! Better than before! It just depends on if you will make it into the timeframe they are scheduling or have to wait for next months time frame. Around 5 months is your best bet.

I hope not :( My wife is pregnant and her due is in January, It's our first baby I just hope and keep praying that I won't miss the childbirth! Tried expediting but they refused.

Do you have any idea where I can get news about current Embassy Interviewing dates from people? Like facebook group or something? I'm trying to do my best not to miss my baby's birth! and when do they send the interview letters which day in the month?

And Sorry when did you get the DQ? and the interview letter?

I hope your husband's Interview goes as smooth as possible and you come back tomorrow with great news !! :) If he needs any help I'm here also! Thank you.

  13. Hello all :)

Just wanted to share my situation and ask all you experienced folks on what to do!

    Case:

    - I’m DQed in 30/6/2023, waiting for interview in Cairo Embassy for Spouse visa.

    - My wife she’s American and she’s going to be there starting from August.
    - She’s pregnant and this is our first baby, she’s 4 months now and her due is in Dec-Jan.
    - She’s going to stay with her sister and family, her mother has Parkinson’s (stage four) so her sister will mainly take care of her mother.

    - I’ve sent an email to NVC to expedite the case, attached pregnancy reports and scan and her mother Parkinson report and we said that I need to be there to take care of my wife during her last months and during labor.

    - They replied ‘ they can’t expedite this case’.

    - Cairo Embassy is heavily occupied, people are saying i’ll wait for more than 6 months to just get an interview date (currently sending interview letter to people who are DQed in Feb 2023), and Sudan Embassy cases I think have been moved also to Cairo Embassy.

Question; Should I push back? Send to the embassy asking for a reason? Send to the congressmen to seek his help?

Or it might frustrate them, like okay we’ll expedite it but hey you’re refused (during the interview) and i lose all hopes of reuniting with my family so better just stay quiet so I don’t upset them with me going to other resources of help like the congressmen and so on?

Sorry if It’s long, but I just wanted to make sure I did everything I could for my family.

The subject of the email is Immigrant Visa Interview Appointment,

has the current date,  the the case number & invoice number

and then the name of who is being interviewed.

    They refer you to https://nvc.state.gov/prep

and ends with Immigrant Visa Interview Details, which includes

Interview Date/Time, the Interview location (city, country only), the NVC case number and Invoice ID,  the Principal Applicant (name and address), preference category (currently CR1 though will be changing to IR1 before the interview)  and the A#.

I don't think in general they do packet 3 and 4 anymore.

Thank you so much! feeling much better now that we won't have to do any more paper work haha!

Looking at Egypt's embassy feedback and backlogs from last year already gave me nightmares and I'm afraid I might miss my first baby birth in December due to backlogging so I just wanted to make sure there's nothing more but to wait!

Hey All- You all seem to be pretty supportive and I was hoping someone can provide an advice. I submitted all doc to the NVC on 6/27/23.

But now wondering if I was supposed to do submit more for the proof of domicile.

My case is for a parent, for the AOS  I submitted tax transcripts/employment verification letter, w-2s. Was I supposed to do something else to proof domicile/bring more docs to the interview? Does anyone know? Please let me know if anyone has experience in that.

Yes these documents that you submitted already proved to them your domicile status so no worries haha! Hope you get DQed next week :)

  15. Hello!

Happy to find people giving feedback about Egypt Embassy haha couldn't find any!

We were DQed yesterday 30th of June, any idea from CR1/IR1 applicants how long till we receive the Interview letter? and for CR1 we don't have to submit any packets as we already uploaded all documents in CEAC portal right?

    Thank you :)

  16. Hey guys regarding the additional evidence can you please help understand this?

so all documents submitted are approved as below screenshot

    image.png.e50417572b3b1f5f33ee17589202029c.png

But I found 2 messages saying please submit W2 and proof of domicile for petitioner, i submitted them but still showing the same (ACCEPTED) status where documents inside showing submitted.

Is that a regular RFE? Does that mean i can get DQed faster or still the same need to wait 14 days?

And should I send like an inquiry saying documents showing "ACCEPTED" status where as I submitted some files it should be under review?

Sorry all kind of lost here :( :(
