Hi! We sent our packet to USCIS yesterday. I know it’ll probably be received by Monday or so. @Sarge2155 I still can’t see an October 2022 AOS Filers thread. Do you know if we have one?

The category is (c)(9)
- some people type it as (c)(0)(9) - same thing
 
You are filing as adjustment of status, you have already completed the k1 portion of your immigration so that part is no longer what applies. It’s a different category, so if it’s approved, it would be valid until you receive your green card.

How would most couples even have much of anything until several months into their marriage?  When my fiance arrived, we immediately went to get the marriage license and SSN, married 5 days later, and sent the AOS packet as soon as we had the marriage certificate, which was a couple of weeks later.  
 
At that point, he'd been in the US for < one month.  We did not yet have joint assets or accounts, or property.
 
We spent the next 14 months accumulating that stuff while awaiting the AOS interview.
 
 

Join this group of July filers. The first post has an excellent list of what you need. And like it was already said, your #13 is not needed. I'm not sure about the criminal history stuff. I guess it's the AOS applicants history? 
 
 

I like to think that update to the instructions was a direct result of VJ members.......😅

Totally unrelated to this topic but a VJ Fun Fact / Sunday Funny Ha Ha moment for you all.
 
I remember a couple on VJ posting that - in answer to the proof of consummation / bonafide marriage - sent a selfie of them sitting upright in a hotel room bed, sheets covering their privates. My word, the USCIS doing that file must have gotten quite the shock.

Doesn't USCIS has it now in their instructions to not send anything explicit? 🤣

You only need to file the 130 if you DIDN'T marry in the 90 days

Well they need your passport to get the visa in there 😊
