  1. I stapled all the documents separately i.e. house documents stapled together, bank documents stapled together each also had their own cover sheet with the document name. For the check I just put it in the packet in front of all the documents. I would not staple the check to anything.

We wont staple anything, only because , as I recall from this whole process, uscis didn't like anything stapled. Must be a metal detector there or something.....or they don't want to get stuck/remove staples. Anyone else can chime in on this? MHO

  2. Thanks for the info. Somewhere though, I think maybe the USCIS website or even here, I recall a mention of "Copy of Passport" for immigrant/spouse. Could be wrong. We will send actual photos and the Form for my Life Insurance (eek) is just a form that is given to all employees to fill out and submit. (I have a copy of this) It is on file where I' am employed. It is from "Lincoln Financial Group" for Life Insurance. I have some documentation that describes coverage etc.....but not much. I suppose I could have them "notarize" it?

    Thanks

  3. Welcome back to dealing with uscis. Hope you have a lot of patience left over from the I-485 days. The good thing with VJ is there are a ton of people here who are willing to help you. The attorney who filed my I-485 wanted $600 to file I-751 for us. With the help of this board, I filed it myself and sent in what they needed and I just received my 1 year extension letter 2 days ago. Saving us $600 in the process. Feel free to ask questions when you get stuck and be prepared to hear things you sometimes do not necessarily like but that's just their opinion. Good luck.

I haven't had the privilege of hearing anything I didn't like, on the other hand, I have heard a few things that have been sad (others not so fortunate in the over-all process). I have a great respect for the authors here and read others posts, and of coarse the guides, so ..... we will be prepared and ready! I sought originally an Attorney in this process from the old K1 days ....decided to 'save' the money. Yes ...this is a very helpful board.

  4. Good luck with the ROC process. That'll be one more step towards the end of USCIS forever!!!!

Yes, that WILL be a relief! We are preparing everything now....reading the NEW I-751 form (2010)....gathering information needed ..and will probably have a few questions before we send this out at the beginning of May. As I said, any advice is always appreciated.

  5. Hello....We have awhile yet to 'remove conditions', just wanted to ask this though: Is the 90 day time frame calculated on the arrival to the usa date or green card date?

Sorry if I have missed something here.

    Thanks,

    David

On the GC, it has a line for "Resident Since", use that date, then count back 90 days on calendar. Cheers!

    T H A N K S !

I wasnt sure and thought it was from the date of arrival in the usa. Thanks Again ....

  7. QUOTE (Benika @ Oct 15 2008, 01:52 AM) QUOTE (Bintang @ Oct 15 2008, 02:59 PM) Hi everyone!

One of the requirements for the K1Visa interview is Police Certificate, from places lived since age 16. Benficiary has lived in couples different cities in Indonesia and studied in Australia. Does she have to get all the Police Certs from those different cities and from Australia as well?

If anyone knows or have the same issue please advise.

    Thanks so much.

Police certificates are generally required for the country not the city. However I dont this it is possible to get a police certificate for Indonesia. (see http://www.***removed***/immigration/police-certificates.html ) You might want to phone the embassy about this.

If she lived in Australia for longer than 6 months (some places say 6 months, some a year ... I think better safe than sorry) she will need a police certificate for Australia.

    Beni

good.gif Better safe than sorry..... no one knows exactly what will be asked for in an interview.
