  1. Yes! Us too! Feels good to have that out of the way. We couldn't wait until our appointment, which was more than three weeks after we got the notice in the mail. The wife had the afternoon off (a rarity), so we just went and did it.

I was a little surprised that it 'appears' there will be no interview, not complaining though ...I don't particularly like making that 110 mile drive each way. I had to take the day off myself. While we were there, or while I sat in the lobby area, there were a few people discussing with an officer folks that were being moved from various counties & deported. So, I saw first hand our tax dollars were being used this time for legal immigration purposes. I suppose sad for the ones being deported, however, I'm a firm believer in coming here & being here legally.

Our gratitude goes out to those that own and administrate Visa Journey .....Thank You

  2. But the most important thing is that the illegal immigrants are already in this country!! Our loved ones can't get past the airport in their home country!! Legal US citizens are suffering while the illegals are here and have a multitude of lawyers and politicians and cities (San Fran) that will protect them. We pay for their law breaking. So an illegal immigrant has to learn english La Ti F*****g Da. Has Obama ever been to chinatown? There's plenty of legal residents who don't speak english. Let me guess we need to hire some additional teachers at tax payer expense to teach them english. His speech meant nil. Just more of his BS. He tells all the consulates to deny causing problems so we will support his reforms when he makes the problem to begin with. I saw the other day on headline news ticker that he is proposing higher greencard fees. See the more we get turned down the more we have to file giving the gov't money for their coffers which is a TAX (money paid to gov't is a tax) If you refile, the legwork has already been done so what do they spend $455 on? I say we picket outside US consulate in Saigon on an agreed upon date, let them arrest us, get it on camera and send it to the news. We need to bring attention to our problem nationally to get anything done. Funny how med students get their visas quickly and nuclear engineers who go to work for the US gov't get their visas quick but not us. It is beyond me what they have to gain by continually telling us to wait, Wait for what?

From my own 'personal perspective', my own 'opinion', not the opinion of anyone else in our household ......I have highlighted or made bold what I feel are facts & true. Illegals are here, they were 'allowed' to come here without proper documentation, according to the laws of this country. They were allowed to cross borders, although a misdemeanor, yet still allowed to cross. Their country does not have laws or an agreement apparently with the USA to NOT allow them to leave their own country, unless they have legal documents .... like all other countries. And, taxpayers (you and I) in this country are footing the bill. Paying for their welfare, food stamps, medical etc. When we are already stretched paying for millions of others who are citizens, that aren't willing to work ...and do nothing more than play the system & give birth to children like an assembly line, most of which don't even know who the father is ...or cares, cause the gov will take care of them (correction: the taxpayer). And those crossing the border illegally are using/abusing the same system as well.

Federal, State & Local governments are at fault here. If you look around, you will see sanctuary cities everywhere, which are breaking the immigration laws of this country. From the top to the local business man ..they too are breaking the immigration laws. Although a misdemeanor to come here illegally, it becomes a felony to 'Aid, Transport & Abed' (sp) anyone who comes here without proper documentation/illegally.

Amnesty has been given before by a few in the office, it didn't work then, and won't work now.

And, although fees may increase for us that do this 'legally', we wouldn't allow that to keep us from our loved ones overseas or already here. Time (the waiting) wouldn't keep us from our loved ones either.

This site has, to my knowledge, has every legal PDF file/form from the gov, that states clearly what is expected, what is legal, what is the correct procedure in bringing someone here legally and fees involved .....and, strangely, all of this contradicts the way this administration, and many others are behaving. I believe, anyone should be allowed to come here LEGALLY. Jump through the hoops like everyone here going through these various processes at VisaJourney.

How can you document millions, when you don't know where half of them are? Its about VOTES! Welcome to America :D

  3. Our Biometrics is scheduled for August 13th, 2010 in OKC

We just spoke with a representative at level tier 2 (?) said that all is well, no RFE, and that our letter was mailed July 26th.....and said we should receive this soon indicating/verifying the biometrics appointment. Gave us a new EAC number, he said this was because this was filed at VSC and he believed we could use this number to track status online.

Added the new EAC number online, which is the CR I 89 number as well, I assume, and all is well the number was accepted.........except I couldn't edit this post online...oh well, we're on our way!

  5. I think the key is what your ASC is. Why not track the ASCs that are backed up and see if there is a trend? For example, we have a few members in Arizona with no biometrics appointment. AZ is well-known for its large immigrant community, so it doesn't surprise me that there is a backlog there.

Oklahoma City,OK I believe is our ASC and certainly not the busiest place, however, I will see what I can find out.

  6. Here is our latest response, after calling on Friday May 16th, 2010:

(this is not the complete e-mail of coarse)

'The Vermont Service Center (VSC) has received your request inquiring about your biometrics appointment. A review of the electronic records indicates your appointment will be scheduled as soon as there is availability at your local Application Support Center (ASC). You will receive your new appointment notice confirming this date and time in the mail. Please follow the instructions on the notice.' bla-bla-bla

I think the key words here are "NEW Appointment Notice".

  7. Everyone here at VJ have waited or are waiting....have followed the laws, filed the papers.....and are paying the price $. Seems to me, if you are any other ethnicity than Mexican ......you have to follow the law...racial profiling towards whom :bonk:? I realize that many south of the border 'do' or 'have' came here legally...and I'm not referring to these individuals. This all is about 'votes' and 'control' and 'greedy businesses' that hire illegals. And they have done this so long, now they, we, are in all of this mess as a country. I applaud Arizona and do hope other states join in.

    * and, if they grant amnesty..then everyone here at VJ should get that same amnesty!

  8. Why would you waste time and energy on affidavits? Don't you have any real proof that you are still married and live together?

Let me see here...Bank Accounts, Car Titles, Homes, Credit Cards and things with both names (in my opinion) prove very little 'about' a loving/lasting relationship. They only show you live together under the same roof, and things like that are subject to change (or could be). Again, just my opinion, real friends, that see you both, spend time with you, talk to each of you individually, see you interact....can see whether you are a 'real' couple or not. And can see whether you love one another and are committed or not, bla-bla, that is what keeps the relationship (glue if you will) together anyway, not titles, bank accounts or home ownership. Although letters may or may not be needed, personally, I would place just as much importance on them as to any other requirement if I were to be the judge or agent examining a packet. Freinds will know you a hell of a lot better than someone with a uniform.

  9. do you mind sharing the list of evidence? Some members may provide you with some feedback and comments...

    It's all up to you....

Well, I stuck with some of the examples/guides provided here at VJ. That's all, nothing really new. We will soon be under scrutiny from USCIS in Vermont, and right now, that's enough. Wouldn't you agree? Then on to OKC for an interview if needed. I will post soon. There are really essentially 10 documents that show joint accounts/ownership. Also, a few photos, cards from family addressed to my wife & I. Insurance (health) and Life Insurance showing Jenny as sole beneficiary. And letters from good friends. ;)

And why don't you join in May 2010 I-751 filers list?

You can add us if you would like.
