    We are married and doing CR1, hopefully this doesn't turn into an IR1 by the time it's done 🙄 We got NOA2 on 09-13-2022 and I'm waiting for the email from NVC, so I haven't done DS-260 yet or even logged in. Currently struggling with getting all our documents down to 2MB. What an annoying requirement.

    Hi Janna, yep Oregon is where I lived last in the US and where we are headed back to. Thank you so much for this! I didn't know that I don't need to be a registered voter and so this is super helpful. I will use that same email address so that it goes to the same person and they see there are two people with the same issue.

    I got NOA2 and am about to submit documents to NVC, and this is by far the thing that I am most worried about because it seems like NVC doesn't know the wording on the police check changed, and there's no phones to contact them anymore. I'm working on finding out who my Senator would be since I've been overseas and my voting registration in Oregon randomly lapsed somehow even though I voted in the last thing, hopefully it doesn't come to that though.

    Hello, I am the USC petitioning for my husband, we are both overseas. I am employed overseas and so I know that my foreign income does not count and I should put $0 in item 7. However, last year I rolled over an IRA to a Roth-IRA (the account is based in the US), which is a taxable event and it is income according to the IRS and I paid taxes on it and it shows up as income on my tax return. Since that income was in the US, should I include it in item 7? The instructions for the I-864 say "annual income that you are using to meet the requirements of this affidavit..." and so I think that I should not include the "income" from the rollover because it's not annual income, but I would like to double check for peace of mind. Thanks very much in advance.

    Congrats! Good news the CSC is processing some September cases. I have same PD as you so hopefully mine is soon too. Good luck at NVC!

    I haven't heard anything yet either, PD Sept 10, 2021 at CSC. I've seen one come through for Sept 2 and even a Sept 10 so I'm checking every day and expect it any time. What a rollercoaster 😂 I want to get the I-130 approval but I am dreading NVC with all the crazy RFEs. Other people's Australia police checks keep getting knocked back, my 2021 Tax Transcript isn't ready yet, I'm abroad and we are using assets not income... it's just going to be RFE city.

    Wow I haven't heard of NVC requesting a proof of income when it's foreign income, I will upload my work contract too. We are pretty much in the same situation as you but in Australia. Can I ask about your letter for intent to use assets instead of income? I would probably just write a statement that says "I am working abroad with my husband and therefore cannot show current US income. Instead I will be using XX assets, and the evidence for those assets is the attachment titled "YY". Should I add any other details? Thank you so much for your write up, it was really reassuring.

    Was it for the 1099 thing? I'm nervous about this too because I work overseas but have 1099s as well and I'm worried they'll get confused and send me RFEs.
