  1. I am applying my ROC next month and while I’m looking through our financial statements none of the credit card statements are showing my husband’s name even if he is an authorized user in my credit card. Or vice versa (my name isn’t showing on his). Note that this is for credit card not checking account. Our checking acct bank statement has both our names. My question is, is it okay to scan our credit cards showing we have the same card number but each of us have a physical card to our name? Would that be ideal to do? Thank you!

Thanks, I think it didn't started well because the IO was very cold towards us from the very beginning (she didn't greeted us or introduced herself), then she asked both of us questions for 20 mins and then she told me to go outside and wait to be interviewed while she was interviewing my wife...after 1/2 hour i was called in for (20 mins) and my wife was told outside to wait. I knew we were going to be separated for the  interview beforehand (my lawyer told me). I just found IO's behavior to be odd towards us till like the last 10-15 mins of the interview, in the end she was smiling and seemed very friendly. Also the other thing that I found odd was she was trying to stress on two questions the most how was your proposal like? What did we chat about the first time we ever chatted? It's not that I wasn't prepared for them, I tried to answer them as precisely as i could (in a brief manner like my lawyer told me to). But it seemed to me that she wasn't satisfied or seemed convinced with my answers, while I was answering them she kept asking what else? (like she kept digging in). I don't know maybe I'm over analyzing things but I actually thought that the interview was weird till the last 15 mins maybe.

Hi! Do you have any updates? I’m the same with my status being stuck at Interview Scheduled however mine’s only been a week since interview. But it’s still nerve wracking!

Update: Had the interview today in Chicago. IO was friendly enough, he asked us to verify a few things from the application, we also brought up the fact that they had a typo when inputting my husband’s name into their system, he made a note of it and said he would have IT fix it, but it shouldn’t be an issue. He asked us very few questions, just about our wedding ceremony, how/when we met, and then if we had anything new for him that we hadn’t previously submitted. We gave our additional stuff (which included shared renter’s insurance, car insurance, health insurance, lease documents, more photos, vacation itineraries, etc). He asked to see the originals for our marriage certificate and husband’s birth certificate as well as our respective passports. And that was it! He said he didn’t see any concern or issue with our marriage and the I-130 would be approved. The 485 he said would take maybe a week or so to be approved because all the information/new documents need to be checked, but he said we can expect to see the status change for the green card within a week or so.

Have you had any updates? Had our interview at Chicago as well yesterday and my online status is still at “Interview Was Scheduled” idk if this is common or something to be concerned about. We weren’t approved on the spot but IO said he will review and scan new documents. Interview went well (we believe lol) he didn’t ask much.

  4. Hey guys, got a question.. our interview was yesterday Feb 3 but we weren’t approved on the spot. Everything went well though, IO didn’t ask a lot of questions either. But I keep checking the status online and it is still on “Interview Was Scheduled” is this normal? Or has anybody had any experience like this? I’m getting a little worried that this might not be a good sign 😓 All he said before leaving is that he will review everything and scan more documents. Then gave us the paper saying it’s under review. Any response will help thank you!

    We had the interview today.

was a big deal ( or it felt that was a big deal) that his id wasn’t on our address, the officer stayed 10 min just asking why he didn’t change the id.

Not to many questions addressed to my husband, he talked more with me.

The officer didn’t asked for specific paper he took what we gave to him.

Didn’t even asked for the medical form, i just said at one point that i have that with me if he wants it.

then went back and forward about dates ( when we bought the house, when we start dating, who initially txt which)

and i was asked why i overstay my visa, if i was dating someone else before meeting my husband.

what kind of visa i had denied (i had a change of visa that wasn’t approved, if was in us or back home)

It felt like the officer will reject the case.

i even told my husband going from the building to the car, i am 100% was a bad interview and the officer is going deny our case..

was a huge surprise and relief when i checked after a few hours the case online to see for the form I-485 the status changed to new card is being produced

best of luck to everyone to have an easy interview and a nice experience!!

    Congrats!!

Although we kinda have the same issue with the license, we moved a few months ago and my husband hasn’t changed the address on his ID (our old address was at his family’s house) then we moved to a different town but same state. We used new address for the application and have proofs for that. I saw you had interview at Chicago— that‘s where we’ll have ours too. I just wanna know how that question went and was the officer pressing your husband about it? Will be a concern too for us you think? Thank you!

Questions were checking things from the I-485 form and about where we live, moved, etc. US Citizen work.  How we met.  Who we've met in each other's lives.

    Documents:

    1. I-797C Notice (to get in the door)

    2. Government issued ID for immigrant and citizen

    3. Immigrant's passport and previous passport (valid at time of entry and AOS application)

    4. Certified copy of marriage document (she made sure it matched the one in the AOS file she already had)

    5. Immigrant's birth certificate (declined translation as she already had it, but she also already had the birth certificate...)

    6. US citizen's passport

    7. Joint bank account statements (only took most recent month)

    8. Copies of our joint credit cards. I gave her photocopies of the front and back of credit cards where we have the same numbers.

    9. Credit card statements from our 3 main credit cards (only took most recent month for each). I also included letters from the bank saying he was an authorized user on each one and she said that was good.

    10. 401(k) beneficiary statement indicating immigrant spouse as beneficiary

    11. Roth IRA beneficiary statement indicating immigrant spouse as beneficiary

    12. US Citizen's 2020 tax transcript

    13. US Citizen's 2020 W-2

    14. US Citizen's latest paystubs (she asked for 2-3 so I gave her 3)

    15. Renter's insurance proof and statement, showing both of our names

    16. Health insurance and other benefit statement from work

    17. Life insurance proof with immigrant spouse as beneficiary

    18. Car insurance showing both of us as drivers

    19. Sales agreement for purchase of a house

    20. Photograph of him meeting my family. That was from my initial I-129F petition so I'm glad I brought a copy of that!

She did not look at any other photos and didn't ask for any details about the wedding.

I’m just wondering.. We had submitted all the proof of bonafide marriage when we sent our package, would we still need to bring new updated ones (ex: bank statements, pay stubs) to the interview?

    Hi there,

That was fast! Are you a July 2021 filer, too? The processing time for I-131 is usually faster than I-765 (9+ months for I-765 at NBC). I did not realize that they will send a separate card if you did not expedite so that is good news!

Thank you I know I was surprised as well! Nope didn’t expedite. And yes PD 07/06, Chicago IL. So you think they will send it separately?

Just saw that I have the I-693 deficiency letter coming my way also. Don't think there's much point rushing the medical at this time as it could still be months until the interview from what I've been seeing online. I'm just trying to get my vax records transcribed and in line for this atm. Already got the flu shot the other week, will have to get a tdap booster at some point too and check titers for MMR and chickenpox. Although I'm not planning on doing the titers until there's an interview on the horizon most likely.

Thanks for this! I was thinking the same thing and get the vaccines in order and do the titer tests. But good to know I’ll wait for my interview schedule then!
