My husband received his visa today, wooo! There was a one week delay issuing the visa due to having his medical the day before the interview. He had his interview on Jan 12th and the medical report was sent through electronically on the 13th and added to his case on the 14th, then his visa was eventually issued last Friday (21st) along with everyone who was interviewed and approved on 19th.

@mcs_2021 @Sammy.NZ tagging you both as we'd talked about what happens if the medical and interview happen are around the same time

Yes got back at a huge courier expense last night at 9pm to find they spelt my name wrong on both kids visas…. Like serious how can you f*%k something like that up?
all a waste of time and money and stress I’ve had to cancel all flights hotels, RV and cats going today as  My partner in NC tested positive to covid and is very unwell. I have to wait it out as I cannot go now and do it all on my own. I just hope he will be okay as he is immune compromised and was already ill prior. Totally gutted and emotionally strung out at this point and hate the incompetence and drama filled delays the embassy caused me, my partner and kids. Time that I will never get back ever.

Hi everyone, my husband had his interview today and just wanted to let you know what he was asked:
-What does he do for work, what will he do in the US
-Who was his sponsor and joint sponsor
    -Where will we live
    -Where was I right now
-What do my parents do for work
-Did my parents come to our wedding
    -General convo about our kids

He brought tons of documents with him but they didn't ask to see anything. He said the whole thing took like 5 minutes, they told him he'd passed and they said they will get his passport in the mail at the end of this week.
If the person who works at the University of Nebraska is on this forum, my husband was behind you

Good luck to everyone, hopefully this process will start moving a bit faster now that we are in Orange!

Covid-wise I think it'll be fine. Auckland is moving to orange tonight as planned and even if there is an omicron outbreak it will take a week or two for things to ramp up. Plus the consulate has been open during red (for our visa categories anyway). When are your flights? Fingers crossed they managed to sort it today.

On a side note, I am blown away you are moving 11 cats. The cost to ship our one dog is eye watering... about the same as the cost of flights for our entire family just to get her to LAX.

Heard from them late today after five emails Their excuse last week was short staffed. This week it’s computer issues. They were working yesterday and today closed now till next Wednesday, not holding my breath. I suspect Cindy will attempt to shut Auckland down again due to omicron and the embassy will jump at the chance to close again 🙄

@Vamp.nz I'm so sorry you haven't heard back  this might not be helpful, but I sent my packet 3 over 4 weeks ago and haven't heard anything back yet either. They aren't replying to my emails either, I'm not sure what's happening with them...

Hey guys! My husband had his CR-1 interview today and he was APPROVED!! 🙌  Such a relief... we'll finally be reunited after over 3 months!

What to expect: his wait time at the consulate was over an hour - there were several others in front of him (must have been all the others originally scheduled for August 18). The interview itself was relatively short, they just asked about how we met, when and where we got married, his relationship to our joint sponsor, where he intended to live, etc.

He asked when he could expect to have his passport returned and they said they were mailing them all this Friday so he'd have it early next week, so I assume that will be the routine for the coming weeks as well.

And yes, he met the infamous B! 😆 She's the one that went over his documents and made sure everything was in order.

I'll report back again when he actually has green card in hand next week. Good luck everyone! The end is near!

    Hey friends!
I think I'm the first so I'll let you all know, I got through the process and booked my interview today for the 15th of December. Keep in mind because we are K1 they will get different slots than IR1/CR1 from what I can tell.

I can tell you there were 6 slots open and the only days that were open for K1's anyway were the 15th and the 22nd of Dec, don't know if those 6 were per day or all together for the 2 days available.

FOR ANYONE WHO'S UNSURE WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE MEDICAL STAGE FOR K1, READ THIS: I know there's not much Info, so anyone coming to this post later on can read it too. After you've completed your medical and returned PACKET 3 you will then wait for the embassy to contact you via email. They will send you PACKET 4 which is essentially an email telling you HOW to schedule an interview and what to bring. Go onto CGI.federal website and make an account, follow the instructions and you will also see on u.s.traveldocs you will have to download the payment form from this website https://www.ustraveldocs.com/nz/nz-niv-depositslipinfo.asp download the $265 one (that's U.S. dollars) and go to NZpost and take it with you and ask them to scan it in, you'll have to pay it. They should know what to do...they'll give you a receipt. Go to "schedule appointment" in your CGI account on the left side and follow through the prompts to select K1 etc etc... when you put in the receipt MRV number at first you'll notice it is invalid, give it until between 10:30pm and 12:30pm NZ time then check it again, it should go through and you'll be told "you will receive an email once you're request for an interview has been processed" it should take a day or two then you will receive that email telling you to logon again and go to "schedule your appointment" and then choose your date. Now you've scheduled your interview, hope this helps anyone going through K1 who comes across this, just my experience as I went through it.
