    I was hoping you'd get DQ'ed on the 26th!

So so so happy I was correct!

    Congratulations!!!!

When does interview happen at Mumbai?

I've read they're not as slow as before...

Aww...how sweet! Thanks for the good wishes. Not sure of when the interview will take place though... January DQs are still not done with their interviews. Looks like they are unpredictable. Continue to send your good thoughts & prayers.

Did your husband upload after an RFE? My tax docs have already been accepted

Our RFE was for a missing blank page of I-864EZ.😔 However, my husband uploaded that and the latest tax statements. A lot of times NVC tends to ask for more stuff. So we thought it's better to give them extra, than to be asked for it later and wait for 3 more months. We re-submitted on March 16th. Hoping to be DQ'd this time.

The best part is, adding documents under Additional documents tab does not reset the clock & push you back in the queue. So no harm in adding whatever you want to add now. I just make sure I leave clear & kind comment so the officers understand my motive behind adding that additional document.

I have received mixed answers on other forums. Wanted to see what my fellow VJ’s think. Thank you in advance :)

    Hello! Here’s my case info:

    NVC Upload: November 15, 2021
Case RFE: February 6, 2021 (everything was accepted but the police certificate. Bosnia requires 2 not 1)
Uploaded New Police Certificate: March 15, 2021

My question is…now that we will be reviewed after the tax deadline…do I need to upload my 2021 tax forms, W2’s, 1099’s in my additional forms section? Or can I just have my husband bring my 2021 tax forms to the interview. I only ask because everything has already been accepted but I really don’t want another random RFE

Thank you for any help or advice!

That's right, you should upload your latest tax transcripts & w2... My husband did too. Just go ahead and add them under Additional documents & leave a note and submit it.

Okay guys, so here's the plot twist. Turns out, my birth was ACTUALLY registered with the municipal authorities the day after I was born. Apparently, the hospital made it a practice to send off their records to the municipality to make sure everybody got properly registered. My parents had no clue about any of this registration business. TODAY, 42 years later, I got my BC and I'm elated! However, I did upload the wrong document with NVC so I'm going to go prepared with affidavits and other secondary evidence. Hoping this doesn't cause a delay or something worse.

You are all safe then. Don't worry.

I'm VERY glad to know there won't be too much scrutiny. We're gathering as much secondary evidence as possible, hoping it will be enough. I couldn't get the NABC or a similar doc though. Hope that won't be a problem since the relevant municipal authority refuses to issue it now. Very grateful to you and @Mike E for making me aware of the pitfalls of delayed registration of birth. Didn't know it was such a big deal.

Well, the trick is; if you prepare for the worst, it may never happen.

So go ahead with the preparation & keep the secondary documents ready. Really, it's the consulates that can tell you for sure whether or not they care to scrutinize your BC. I don't think they are that predictable either, so I would go with additional documents whenever my turn comes.

I mean, don't forget, even the blank page means a lot to them. How less can a Birth Certificate mean!? Just saying...

I'm currently working on these affidavits so that was very helpful, thank you. Did you have the same issue with your BC?

Well, mine isn't the same problem though. In my case, my father's name has a spelling variation on my birth certificate & all my other documents have his name spelled differently by 2 letters. So I am just playing safe by keeping all the additional documents just in case the need arises for it at the time of interview. For now NVC has accepted my BC though. However, consulates have the right to scrutinize further.

Glad I was able to be of some help to you. Good luck.

I’m not sure where the belief came that you go to back of the line at NVC when uploading documents, that may be the case at USCIS with 130 stuff but NVC doesn’t do that, least not anymore if they use to.
Once you’ve been DQed, don’t submit anything more to them till AFTER you get your interview date, that can cause your interview date to get pushed back. Once you get your date tho your case is at the Consulate so you can upload the current tax transcripts or whatever documents may be new between being DQed and getting interview date. More important than uploading new ones tho, bring the new tax transcripts or other legal documents with you if you have them.

Our I-864EZ was rejected because apparently the last blank page was missing. So we resubmitted that on March 16th with the latest transcripts & w2 of 2021 too. I so pray & hope that they don't push us back in the queue & let us wait for another 3 months.

  8. Do not upload anything on NVC portal if you are already DQd. You can carry any number of additional documents to your interview & that does not create any problems. I got affidavits done too to be on the safe side...apparently sometimes they ask for affidavits despite having a BC. So, it's a good idea to get it done & I used my own format. You can simply write a declaration that states these following things 'Who is who, who witnessed your birth, where & when were you born, how are you related to them, why did you not register your birth on time, & what are the additional documents you can provide to prove your birth.' Lastly, swear that you have not provided any false information in this declaration & that you are aware USCIS/NVC may take punitive actions against any fraudulent activities related to your immigration process. Attach a photo ID copy of the person who is declaring the affidavits(ex: Mom & Dad or your family member.)

An affidavit containing these things are sufficient for birth proof.

    Thanks!

My husband has petitioned for our 7 year old son and me.

    Mine was all ok.

But on our son’s they said the I-864 was invalid as we didn’t need it, we needed to upload an I-864W instead which is the exemption from I-864 form.

So very easily fixed but now the wait again! :(

Hope the wait goes in fast for us 😆

A positive at least is that judging on last Mondays NVC time frame, we didn’t expect to know anything about our cases until late into this week but we actually heard last Friday night so hopefully when they put out the updated time frame today that they will have made a significant jump on processing. (At least more than usual)

Hoping we all get DQd soon.
