    15-16days Yeah we submitted NVC docs on 21st Feb 2023 and all documents were approved on 8th March 2023 except our marriage certificate. They said we should get it issued by correct authority. We don't know what else they were looking for because our marriage certificate was already issued and signed by the marriage officer of the district as per guidelines. We expained them same in caption and uploaded same document again on same day. Hoping to hear something back in 2-3 days. fingers crossed and praying to god.

    If you have not received an email saying you are documentary qualified and If all documents says accepted but they are asking for additional documents then please submit whatever they have asked for. Happened with me 2 days back. All documents were accepted but they want marriage certificate again.

    We filed our i130 in my maiden name. That time my Indian passport didn’t have my husband’s name on it. while we were waiting for i130 approval, I got my married name on my adhar, PAN and passport. Now submitted all the updated documents to NVC. I was also doubtful about this issue so I decided to change my name.

    Okay my husband is actually trying to file for an ITIN for me and defer his taxes until October. By that time my ITIN would be ready and then he will file the taxes. This is the plan as of today he is still discussing with his CPA and then decide.

    Is this really true that we will get RFE if we didn’t submit 2022 tax return ? we have submitted 2021,2020 and 2019. My husband will file his taxes around march end.

    Hi my husband is US citizen and I am a non resident currently living in India. We recently submitted our documents in NVC and expecting DQed by mid march 2023 and then interview at Mumbai consulate by 0ct-nov 2023. My husband is considering filing his taxes 2022 as single until I enter USA and get my SSN. Would his decision really harm our immigration process in any ways?

    Check your inbox properly you must have received an email from National_Visa_Center@state.gov with title Notice of immigrant visa case creation. This email must be having your NVC Case number as well as Invoice ID Number.

    Thanks a lot this was very helpful but I have one last question if the sponsor is US citizen then too they are required to fill A number? And there is A number asked for applicant also Part 2. Information about the principal immigrant >> Other Information >> 5. Alien Registration number (A-number) what should be filled under this? we found an A number on our approval notice but not sure it should be used for sponsor or the applicant..
