    Congratulations! Happy for you all!

If you look at our Timeline or Profile->Our Story, it took us about a week from getting the approval notification to receiving the permanent residence card.

Start preparing for the post-AOS to-do's.

Thank you! That's a great list to keep in mind. I like how folks said to start throwing things in a box :)

  2. Good question...I went and looked at the saved document on my computer and seems I must have handwritten it because the field is left empty. It was very brief and was something along the lines of "my income and housing will be shared with beneficiary without limits."

But as you've mentioned, if you need more space, use the Part 8. Additional Information page to continue for extra space to describe how you'll be supporting your beneficiary.

One thing I did notice on the I-797C is that the Priority date box is blank. And the letter states, "If this notice contains a priority date, this priority does not reflect earlier retained priority date." So what does it mean if the Priority date box is empty?

On my spouse's I-797C for I-485, the Priority Date is blank as well, but when the access code arrived, it had one dated the same as the Received Date. I'm not sure why that is...

  4. Evening folks, just a lil update. Check was cashed on 7/29, received paper notifications on 8/1, and access code arrived 8/4.

Just today, we went to SSA and was able to successfully apply for spouse's SSN without any issues. Documents we took were passport, recent I-94 printed from CBP website, birth certificate, and marriage certificate. The employee who helped us said the number should be generated within 2 days and card received in 2 weeks!

    Still waiting on biometrics appointment.

Another problem that we have is that we can't verify her identity on myUSCIS. When we submit her A-number and NVC number (DOD Case ID), we get the error message "We could not find the A-number and/or DOS Case ID you entered."?

Anyone else having such issue? Thanks.

Same here, I'm wondering if it's due to NVC not processing K1 documents like the IR1/CR1 process. For us, K1 filers, it's just a relay point between USCIS and the embassy/consulate. Whereas for IR1/CR1 filers, they actually have to upload documents with NVC and the department handles creating their interview appointments. I remember when my spouse went to get her medical, the nurse mentioned that K1 patient's information were all papers while the IR1/CR1 were all electronic. This is only speculation though. Anyone from IR1/CR1 process been able to verify their identity on USCIS account?

Was this the only info you received after your NOA2? I’ve been reading that people haven’t been able to get their NVC numbers anymore because they won’t answer the phone, so I’m wondering if this is really the case?

Also, how long after the NOA2 did you receive this email? I think this depends on the backlog at the embassy but just wondering anyway.

Yes, this was the only contact from NVC after NOA2. Our case was approved on March 28th and NVC's email notifying us it's been sent to embassy/consulate was May 10th. Then a week later, received instruction package from Korean embassy but I believe each location does things differently at this point.

Yeah...I've heard about NVC suspending their public inquiry lines due to backlog...I'm sorry...don't lose hope!! If you received your NOA2, give a good 2/2.5 months for NVC email. You're almost there!!

  7. Had same questions as OP. Fiancée was just approved for K1 visa and will be coming in next month. After seeing so many dang social media posts and articles regarding what Thomas said, started to get really worried. But then I had to tell myself that it's just one justice of nine and it isn't concrete that SCOTUS will be reviewing Obergefell. Anyways, don't lose hope, it'll be alright :)

What did your email look like? what was the address? I just want to make sure it's whitelisted in my email so it doesn't go to spam...

    Hello~ I'm not @Merica-n but thought I'd share since I'm on.

This is the email address we received ours from, NVC-do-not-reply@state.gov with title "The National Visa Center sent your K1 visa petition to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate in [beneficiary's location]"

The content of the email is below and a document was attached, which has NVC case number, USCIS receipt number, both our names, interview location, and it's address. Hope this helps!

    Dear Sir/Madam:
The correspondence attached to this email relates to the I-129F visa petition listed in the subject line.  Please read the information in the attachment carefully and follow the instructions.
    Regards,
