    Hi!

    Crossed POE: Dec 20, 2021

    Received SSN: Jan 12, 2022 (It was issued a few days after I crossed, but I think the holidays delayed the process/delivery)

    Received Green Card: Feb. 15, 2022

    Hope this helps!! :)

    Thank you - I crossed at Peace Arch on January 30th and still no sign of SSN, which is why I'm curious.

    @Canada5 how did you know the SSN was issued?

    Congratulations!

    Did they ask and collect your police certificate(s), if any?

    Btw, a general question for those who have already been interviewed:

    What are all the documents you are suppose to take to the interview? We filed our I-130 online, so only have electronic proof instead of printed/physical (pics, chats, etc.) -- but can be printed. Should any of that proof be taken to the interview or is that obsolete after case is transferred to NVC?

    I know of these (from here https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-10-prepare-for-the-interview/step-11-applicant-interview.html😞

    - Appointment Letter

    - Passport

    - 2 Photographs

    - DS-260 Confirmation Page

    - Supporting Docs Uploaded to CEAC (I-864 + Sponsor's Tax Info, Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Police Certificate(s), Proof of Legal Residence -- i.e. Work Permit)

    Anything else I missed or recommended to take? I know it's better to be over-prepared for the interview.

    Yes, they did collect my police certificate! Forgot about that one..... They also took 1 of my passport photos at the 1st window.

    Your list of documents looks good.

  3. Of course worst case scenario after all this excitement is that it's possible that my husband (the Applicant) won't be able to schedule his medical in time because he's coming to the U.S. for the holidays to see myself and our kids. What happens if your medical isn't completed before the interview? Do they just put you into AP or are you even allowed to go to the interview without completing it?

    @canuckchic we are in the same boat as you. We were DQ on March 11th, and we did not receive our interview letter. I've spoken to NVC twice (including a supervisor) and they said nothing is wrong; we are still waiting in the queue and they refused to investigate. I sent an email to the US Embassy in Montreal and they at least said they will investigate. I've also contacted my US Senator and I am waiting for them to respond. So incredibly frustrating and heartbreaking! :(

    If anyone would be willing to assist us in the same way, it would be greatly appreciated.

    @dmitch so sad to hear of more and more people in the same boat - I am sorry for your family as well!

    May I ask the email for the US Embassy?

    It seems even with my "proof" no one will even take the information from me on the phone, I also spoke with a supervisor. And even though the Congress rep said the NVC told him we could submit proof, this supervisor said there was nothing he could do and he didn't know who would tell us that and wouldn't even take the info I had to prove our situation.

    This probably isn't what you want to hear but if it helps any we were DQ'd on Dec 14 2020 and I finally got my interview appointment for Dec 1 2021

    I think I have offically lost hope that any of these all consuming attempts are going to change anything for us. So far it's all lead to people who are unwilling to admit anything or help in any way.

    I am thankful to everyone who's offered to help!

    I am May 19  2021 DQ scheduled for Dec 8 interview and would be happy to help.

    It's absolutely ridiculous that they are making you do all this. I don't understand the logic of why they can't check it on their end...

    I will PM you for the details. Thank you ever so much. And yes, we are beside ourselves with how this can be so much BS (excuse the language).

    It's absolutely unreal how the blame just keeps getting passed around from one agency to the other and no one can just say yes - you need to be scheduled ASAP

    @ifh received an email back stating that yes, they are indeed interviewing DQ dates up to July 2021, but gave no help. Such a slap in the face.

  7. Hi everyone – I’m sure most of you have seen my posts about being skipped over for the Nov and now Dec interviews as we were DQ’d Feb 19, 2021.

    I have been in touch with our local Congress rep and they spoke to the NVC. They confirmed that yes, they scheduled by DQ'd dates. Admitting no error on their part because they have no way to compare cases to say that we are the same as people who have been scheduled for interviews who were DQ’d after us. Ridiculous of course. The Congress rep said the only option at this point is to "prove that the NVC has scheduled people for interviews after our DQ date". To do this we must find at least one person who is willing to submit to the NVC all of their case information along with interview info, etc along with our case info to "compare" to prove our issue.

    My ask is of anyone who would be willing to help us with this. I believe what we could do to protect your privacy (from myself) would be for whoever would be willing; to send me your info in a private message – like your contact info and DQ date and interview date, along with your phone number and email for the NVC to contact you to verify your case info and details that I’m sure you’d like to keep private from myself. Then I could use all of that in my correspondence to them.

    I see the following people who were DQ'd after us that have had or will have November interviews;

    @Quangerfeb 21 interview nov 18

    @Torrjr feb 22 interview nov 18

    @Canada5 feb 25 interview nov 22

    @NadiaL mar 5 interview nov 29

    @SS_V mar 10 interview nov 29

    @Colorado bound mar 15 interview nov 1

    please reach out if you’d be willing to help us. We are desperate to have our family back together, my two babies miss their Daddy so much. Also if anyone that hasn’t had their interview yet and is scheduled for December would like to help, please do let me know.

    Thank you very much!

    No worries, whatever I can do to help. Write to the NVC using this link https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html

    Fill out all the information and write your request in the message box. It’s the only way to communicate with NVC via email.

    I sent over a private message in hopes we can keep each other updated about any progress we make.

    For us, we checked the senator's website, got their contact email, and sent an email with name of beneficiary and petitioner, case number,  consulate involved, and explained the situation.  Our senator's office required a form be completed to grant them permission to reach out on our behalf (form was on their website but not every state seems to require the form). They were quick to reply. Navigating red tape seemed to be a common reason they were contacted (they had a website dedicated to saying their constituents can contact them for red tape stuff).

    It seemed Iike the email had to come from the US petitioner which makes sense since they would be the constituent and as a beneficiary, most of us are just random foreigners.

    Good luck!

    Thank you - I'm in California, so I just found an email for our Senator. May I ask how long it took for you to get things resolved with Montreal and have the interview scheduled?

    NVC didn’t help at all. They told me that I was in line to have my interview scheduled and that all I can do is wait… I did send a message to NVC as well as I have been advised by the consulate but I don’t think it will help more than the phone call I had this morning..

    The ACS email is montreal-acs@state.gov .

    Thank you again - sorry for all the back and forth. Appreciate your quick repsonses. We've emailed the montreal one multiple times and have never received a response. We will try the NVC - did you just use the email that they give us during the process?

    Same here. I emailed the consulate as advised by @From_CAN_2_US. My husband emailed them as well but he sent the email to the ACS email (not sure if that will help). I have been on hold with NVC for the last 45 min waiting to talk to a representative…

    Did you get any info from the NVC? They were no help to us.
    what is the ACS email? Thank you!

    Oh no! This is really awful...

    So sorry this is happening. At this point it is nothing short of cruelty.

    Have you considered the petitioner (your spouse) getting assistance from their senator to pressure Montreal Consulate/ NVC?

    Not sure how to go about doing that?
