The DS-160 was completed online, but the confirmation page needed to be printed out and mailed to the embassy.  My fiancee had to mail in two photos as well and the passport information page.  This was all by physical mail and nothing was sent via email.  This is China though, I think slightly different procedure from different countries, so you'll have to wait to see the exact procedure in Canada.

Thank you! So you have to mail the documents instead of sending it electronically? I know you need to send an email confirmation to the consulate after the completion of DS-160, with scanned copies of the application's passport and a photo. I thought the DS-160 itself is also filed online.

Hopefully it will arrive fairly quickly.  You should receive packet 3, where you have to mail back your DS160 confirmation page, 2 passport photos, etc.  Our packet 3 included a copy of our originally mailed petition.  I’ve seen letters for packet 3 from different embassies that vary in what they request, so ymmv.  After, you successfully complete packet 3, then you will receive packet 4 with instructions to sign up for your interview date, they won’t just assign a date to you, you’ll get to pick.

We haven't start the ds160 and i134 yet, for ds160,  we have very simple background, so it shouldn't take long for us, and I have all the document ready for i134.(I'm planning to provide tax transcript, bank statement, insurance policy, stock account and deed) But I think they might want to see the most recent document, so I will download those documents when my fiancé schedule his interview. I will also be making an album of our pictures, itineraries, chat history when I have time.
 
Meanwhile my fiancé is preparing other documents that required for interview (birth certificate and police certificate), we will also call the medical center to see if we have to make appointment for the medical exam.
 
I'm so excited about this, we haven't see each other since the pandemic, can't wait!

For me I am just thinking that spousal visa would take about 8-10 months but also at the end of it my partner would get the green card and can work and travel immediately. For someone who just started the fiance k1 visa process might worth a think cause the wait for fiancé visa might just be the same. However, cases like me and my partner who have been waiting for over 13 months now and the goal considering is to get partner to the states ASAP and don’t mind waiting another 8-12 months for work authorization and being able to travel etc then switching to spousal visa could be a big risk to take. But on the other hand if someone would rather work and able to travel sooner switching to spousal visa might not be a bad idea as the waiting time might even be shorter than waiting for fiancé visa approval (which is getting longer and longer) and then waiting another year for work authorization etc.

I agree. Not to mention it takes time to plan and get married. And you'd likely not getting the type of ceremony you want.

I cannot even explain how frustrated I am with USCIS.  But as an April filer (still waiting for NOA2), I feel bad for the May filers as they are being overlooked.  I am happy that a lot of June people are being approved in the last couple of weeks.  But doing this just so it will make USCIS look good, I don't think that is right.  Although what I think doesn't matter to USCIS really, so it's a lost cause for me to get frustrated everyday... I still get frustrated anyway, who doesn't? 
I now accept that USCIS is a broken establishment that needed to be treated from top to bottom.  This incompetence is just unbelievable.  I feel like we, the ones trying to bring our loved ones legally in the US, are being punished, while the illegals are free to enter the country.
Tomorrow is another day that me and my fiancé hope to get that sweet approval.  And if we're are not approved this week, we can only hope maybe next week.  And if not next week, maybe the week after.  At least we know it will come... eventually.  
I'm sorry for the negative aura.  It's just one of those days.  
Hang tight folks.  As what my fiancé would always tell me: "Just stay positive because there's nothing we can do."
