  1. How to prove that my wife added me as an authorized user to her credit cards? Should we scan the credit cards? Should we look on the website of the banks to see if it’s displayed?

The problem is, my wife has multiple people as authorized user and we don’t want to display all the names, would it be OK to edit de pictures so we show to immigration that i’m an authorized user? I don’t want them to think we’re hiding anything, but also we don’t want to display infos of other people!

Maybe you guys can help us!

  2. I’m currently filling an AOS and when we file i will be under my J-1 visa “grace period”

“During this 30-day grace period, participants are no longer in J-visa status, and are under the jurisdiction of the USCIS. The USCIS grants this period to allow participants to settle their affairs and to prepare to return to their home countries.”

Then, on the form I-485 the #24 is “what is your current immigration status.”

What should i answer to that?

OP,  eventually your GC application will end up at a local field office (LFO), which is based on your residential zip code.  You can find out which LFO will be yours on USCIS.gov, and then you can look at the I-485 processing times for that LFO.

Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ this was the answer i was looking for!!!! thanks so so much

These are not field offices. These are service centers. Like I said, you send your marriage based AOS to the Chicago lockbox and they will send it to the NBC. That's the service center that will handle your case, like everyone's else.

Yes, but it doesn’t answer the main question... They will send it to the NBC location based on what? Based on when we filled? Or is it random?

Everyone sends the forms to same location, Chicago, the sorts out the paperwork and sends them to the NBC and when it's time for the interview, the NBC sends to an office based on your zip code.

No, i’m not even talking about that.

What i mean is that i see on the USCIS website different field offices (california, potomac, nebraska etc...) and depending on where some forms are sent, it takes more or less time for them to be processed. How do we know where is it gonna wind up????

Hi :) i got married in NYC in February and after i uploaded the completed license on Project Cupid i was told it would take 5-6 weeks minimum for the certificate to come through. I contacted the city clerk and told them i really needed the certificate for immigration purposes and they had it sent out to me literally 2 days after i messaged them.

thanks for your answer! Ugh, 6 weeks is a lot!

  7. Hi there,

I’m getting married in NY soon and we need the marriage license ASAP, and we’re chatting with an officiant and she says “When couples get married in person in NY, it generally takes up to 5 weeks to receive the recorded marriage license.“

I have heard that some people have the marriage license right away. How come? Does it depend on the officiant? What should we do to get it right away?

    Can someone please help me?
