Yeah I go every year to visit him, Isl Embassy is a whole runaround, they told me “we are going to issue it soon”, next inquiry they told me “it’s a mandatory process and we cannot tell how long and when”, the next inquiry they said “give us a month if you don’t her back then follow up”, this is what has been going on since June 8th, 2021 after my fiancés interview, it’s like our life’s are a joke to them, they don’t realize we are wanting to get married and waiting since 3 years. I am only saying all this because this is the truth and I hope someone reads it and takes an action or just do something about it.

I contacted 3 of them few months back. I contacted 2 lawyers who said we cannot do anything.

Hello everyone, hope you all are doing good. The issue I have is that with Islamabad embassy in Pakistan, me and my fiancé have waited over an year under admin processing, they even asked him to resubmit medical which he did 27th dec, 2021. However, there is no movement in our case since February 23rd 2022. We have written several letters through inquiries to the embassy but just get told to wait. Will hiring an attorney help? Does anyone know a good one in Houston, Texas area? The reason I don’t want to choose spousal route is we both don’t wanna wait another admin/entire process timeframe and just want to marry each other and live together in the US. It has been 3 years since I’ve applied in total. Any suggestions?

We had an interview with Islamabad Embassy on
8th June, 2021 for a fiancé visa. After that on August we were requested with a questionnaire requesting applicant travel and work history etc, some people call it ds 5535, then on December 15th, 2021 we were requested for second medical that my fiancé submitted on Dec 27th, 2021. We wrote an inquiry to embassy and received a response on January 31st, 2022 that I am going to attach. How soon we might be issued the visa? It has been way over 180 days since the interview. Anyone else been through a similar situation? Any insights or suggestions?

So after the interview on 8th June, and a ds 5535
on august 5th, now on Dec 16 we received a request for new medical. My question is: do we submit the medical via courier are we also able to submit it via portal?

I was skimming through papers to look for petition approval date to fill out the timeline and that’s when I found out, please help what to do?

Thank you all for your responses, we will give it the most, 180 days and then look into spousal.

@Jeanne Adil, filled it out it made me put wrong dates on the timeline, passport was kept, no big gap, just 5 yrs apart, after interview said you will get an email, got a email on august 5th, ds 5535 filled and submitted after that case was last updated on sept 13.

I got some questions, so we are almost 5 months into ap with fiancé visa. Does the fee expire after a certain time? When does a petition become expired? What else can we do besides sending nvc an inquiry and sending Islamabad embassy emails and calling them? There’s nothing like a red flag in our case, just that my fiancé went to Scotland for his masters and Abu Dhabi to visit his brother.

Our case date keeps on updating, but no further emails being sent out by the embassy, should I call them? Anyone faced similar situation? We are over 3 months in ap now. I am also trying to visit my fiancé but my lab results for PCR didn’t arrive on time, then Qatar made me pay the fare difference for next flight.

@Voilet, I have a question, was AP slip in white color? I am almost 2 months into ap, just wanted to get an idea.

Answer the questions that the consul officer said will be sent via email.
There is no guaranteed timeline for administrative processing. It could take days, weeks, or months.
Thank you @Chancy. We didn’t receive the email yet so will just wait for the email then.

My fiancé gave his interview in Islamabad, Pakistan, the case went to administrative processing and they said we will email you some questions, answer those questions. They also gave him a paper with instructions and no check marks on it, so as far as I understand we do not have to submit anything online or by courier. Attached are the pictures of paper provided to him. They also kept his passport. So my question is, what do we do next? Just wait? How long might the case be in admin

Thank you @payxibka. Got it, he does not need it then.

My fiancé’s interview was cancelled and rescheduled for June 8 in Islamabad, Pakistan. we have a question. On travel.state.gov it mentions tb test is required for applicants 15 or older.
my fiancé went to the medical office and was told K1 visa does not require it and after chest test they don’t recommend him the tb test.
my fiancé also says that he had to get it when he went for masters in Scotland and has the report for that one.
should he still get the tb test done because it is mentioned on the website. Source “https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/ISL-Islamabad.html#med_exam_instructions”

Spouse visa after interview
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures

I want to know what does 221g IV followup appointment after logging into account mean and how to schedule it? (Online, email embassy, or wait for email by embassy)? My SIL already had her first spouse visa apt in Islamabad embassy. She was missing a document and she couriered it along the passport.
