  1. Thanks a lot for everyone who responded!!!! It helped a lot to see the possible prospective in our estimates!

Will stick to the plan of waiting for his passport with visa in Kiev hoping that it could save couple of days rather then returning back to Odessa and wait for it there. You would not believe but in our particular situation every day is counted...I know a bit ricky...but that second time around in that the same process the hardest part...

Thanks again and good luck everyone!

What do you mean by "second time around"

Brad, "second time around" means that we've applied for K1 and got it a year ago, he came here, we've got married. applied for AOS, but then emergency happened to his son in Ukraine , he needed to return urgently, before Advance Parole doc arrived. He took care of everything, but he could not just return back, it considered that he abandoned his status, and K1 visa-just one time entry. So we've started everything over again. This time applied for CR1 visa(since we were already married). And he just waited in limbo in Odessa until everything got approved again. Very hard time... Without his place to live, without job, registration (propiska).. Finally it's getting to the end. He successfully passed his interview today , and now waiting for passport with visa in Kiev. We just took that risk. Will see how it will turn out....

  2. Hi All! I have not been here for a while...working 12 hours per day with computer, grrr, could not force myself to open it at home

Here is my great news-my husband passed his interview today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Please can you share your experience and details about the following situation?

My husband lives in Odessa. He plans to go to interview in Kiev and do not return back to Odessa. He have nothing to loose in Odessa , not a job, nor a house. He practically done with all ties and preparations long time ago, and now just counting days until he returns back to America again. See my signature for explanations

He will fly from Kiev anyway. My questions:

    1. What courier service Kiev Embassy uses to send passports with visas?

    2. Is it possible to arrange to hold his passport in their office so he can pick it up rather then they deliver it to some address?

    3. Will it be faster then in any other way, I mean if they deliver it to Kiev address or send it to Odessa?

    4. Anyone who lived in any other city , not in Kiev, tried that?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

  5. Thankssss a lot to all who responded to my questions!!!!!!

But since there are different opinions still doubt if I should take a risk.... What if some "picky" officer will deny his entry from Mexico to USA based on having just I-551 stamp instead of Green Card, what is possible scenario for that?? Will they return him to country of citizenship??

  6. Oh, Nimche! Read about your delays and frustration dealing with Italy embassy :(

These last stages are especially hard to deal with mentally, I can completely understand your pain...

I really hope and believe that you get good news not later then next week!!!!

    MsZ-congratulations with Case Complete!!!

Counting days until our interview...every day more anxious and less patient...

  7. We are scheduled for CR1 interview on Oct, 29. Aside from worrying about his interview I have other things to prepare in advance even before that.

We plan for my husband to arrive to America around Nov, 8. We really set our minds to go to Mexico on Thanksgiving week (Nov,20) for long awaited honeymoon. I am trying to book either cruise or by air

Now I am worrying that the only proof he would have for his permanent resident status-is passport stamp that he will get at POE. I don't even hope that actual Green card is going to arrive in 2 weeks.

Please advise me -will he be able to return from Mexico to USA just with stamp in his foreign passport??

I either need to finalize travel plans very soon, or cancel them completely

Looking forward for your opinions, or experiences!!!!!!!

  8. Thanks for answers! This is what I also thought, was just hoping that it got faster recently ;) .

Will try to buy tickets in a week from interview day and hope for the best... I think it would be impossible or very expensive to buy tickets for the next day if we wait for visa to arrive first ?

  9. Hi All! I have a question! My husband has his CR1 interview on Oct, 29. We are trying to hunt for a ticket for him now. It is our intention that he gets on a plane as soon as he gets his visa. Every day is counted. So at your experience how long (statistically speaking ) it takes to get passport with visa after interview? What postal service they are using to send it? Will they provide tracking number , so we can track the package?

  10. Since he's interviewing for a CR1 visa, all he needs is whatever documents the embassy is requesting in packet 4. In Colombia for example, they ask for Migratory Movement certificateand Baptism certificate. He should also bring copies of everything that was sent to the NVC just in case the documents don't make it to the embassy. Don't forget the evidence as well.

That's pretty much it, nothing else from you.

    Diana

    Thanks so much , Diana!

I was just thinking that I need to include my Birth Certificate and Divorce papers. So I am not sending it-package so much lighter without it

  11. I called on Thusrday and found out they scheduled us for October 14th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So soon! Wow, I need to figure out how to get to Moscow (believe it or not it is 9 hours of flight from where I live) It is all across the country. We have a Consulate here but they only do immigration interview in Moscow.

Wanted to say hi to SusieK, it was a long journey that we started a year ago????!!!!!

I-130 recieved by CSC on Novemer 1st, 2007

    NVC completed on August 14th

    Interveiw October 14th

    WOW!!! That are great news!!!!!

    Pozdravlyayu!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Please add me to this list. I just called NVC and they informed me of my interview date.

Congratulations! It is amazing there are still scheduling...Are there anybody else left without interview date like me! :hehe:

NVC case completed in August 14th

Hi Evgeniya. did you speak to operator lately? Or you are relying on AVR (it's always behind) ?

May be you have appt already. I called them twice a day (morning shift and evening) :hehe: ,one day morning shift told me that not yet, but at evening they told me that they have good news for me...

I know that Russia is not that backlogged, why they keep you waiting then??

Anyway, Good Luck ! I know that until Friday there is still a chance!!!

  13. NVC is great, I just hope RFE is not on their agenda!

Hey for DS230 package, why do i need this : 8) Original 2 Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fides of the marital relationship of the Petitioner and the Beneficiary

It is just to prove the relationship, and that it is a bona fide marriage in all sense of the word.

So I need some of my friends to sign it?

    what should it say?

Im sorry Im not familiar with this part of the process

Ilya, I have not sent it and it was accepted fine. That is not required for all countries.

  14. The DS-230 was received 5 days ago (on 9/11)...AVR still stuck on "awaiting for the return of biographic forms from the petitioner" message. I called and spoke to an operator yesterday and they told me they didn't see the DS in the system but told me they "got two pieces of mail, one on Thursday and one Friday before that". Those were the I-864 and DS-230 packages.

I see people post "DS-230 receipt generated" in their timeline a day after the paperwork is received.

    I'm just worried...so:

    1. What's going on with my I-864 package? I accidentally mailed it without a barcode coversheet (I made up a cover letter and pasted the barcode on that...). Should it show up in NVC system at SOME point in time before it's approved? It's been now close to 1.5 weeks, I'm seriously beginning to be afraid of an RFE at some point since NVC operators can't even tell which packet of paperwork they received.......Is that normal?

    2. I did mail DS-230 with the barcode sheet. So what's taking so long to even generate a receipt.

Thanks for your help. It's been nervewrecking 8 months.

Do not worry. I had the same ""got two pieces of mail" answer for several days .Just call often, and you will hear finally that they decode "pieces of mail" to what forms they actually got. It just mean that they received it , but have not started reviewing it. But it could get changed to "reviewing " any hour. I called every day, but one day I even called twice( to different shifts) and surprisingly at late evening I've heard that my I-864 and DS230 are under review already.

    Good Luck!

  15. Thanks all for good wishes!!! They did came true! I have my interview date!!!! Oct, 29.

Far from today, but nothing to complain, sooooo happy !!!!

As you probably noticed from my sig it's second time we are trying to be togeather...hmmm, actually more then second...

We know each other for 25 years, and already been married 18 yeas ago...then lost each other and finally (I hope) can reunite our tired souls and correct all life mistakes :P

  16. Dear All!

Let me break the "bad news day" with my great news!!!

Just heard these magic "Case Complete" words!!!! As of Sept 12!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Since today is only the 16th, I don't see why you wouldn't get an interview date in October, unless there's a huge backlog.

Thanks Ling Ling! This the first time when I really feeling relived, I thought when I finally send everything in -that it would be a feeling of something off my shoulders, but no.... Just happened yesterday!:-)

Good Luck for you on your final stage!!!!!!

  17. Spreadsheet is updated.

Congrats Olya on being our first case complete!

As for me...I'm unfortunately in the 'bad news' category. I got finally got through at literally 12am only to learn I have an RFE as my police certificate is 'unacceptable'. The rep said they want the RCMP one, whereas mine is from the regional police department. I don't get it...before I requested the certificate I asked on the Canada forums and was told that most of them just got the local department one and none of them have had any problems. Guess they just don't like me. :(

    .

Sorry to hear that , CHD :( , I was so hopefull to hear good news from you as well....because of simular timelines

Overall that process is so nerve wreaking , one never know that to expect, while loosing sleep expecting very likely RFE, other are totally shocked to learn about their RFE in things they were sure of...

Feel so bad for you now...but wish you get and send it painlessly and quickly!
