He was supposed to pay before he moved to the US. The passport package he received after visa approval would come with the instructions to pay online.

If he hasn't paid, uscis will send a letter with payment instructions. Wait for that. No GC will be issued until payment is made.

Thanks for the feedback we really appreciate your answer. We will try to pay that online if possible to speed up the process!

You will have up to 6 months (depending when your medical exam is) from the date of your visa being issued before you have to use it, Why don’t have you the baby in your home country, and then move? You won’t need a separate visa for the baby if it’s born between when you get visas and when you enter (you will need a birth certificate, passport and ideally get a “transportation letter” from the embassy so the airline knows it doesn’t need a visa).

Thanks for the feedback I will check out that option too

  3. My interview for do lottery visa is in July. My wife will be 7 months pregnant by then. My question is when we move to the US how will we pay for my wife’s baby delivery as we will be without job and insurance as new comers !!!

please if you have intel about a similar case let me know how you guys did it.

    thanks

Hi everyone! We filed in July 2020 and still waiting for any sign from USCIS. My Green Card expired, of course, but thankfully they sent me the 18 months extension, which is until March 2022.

However, last week they sent me another extension of 24 months which, in my understanding, adds 6 more months to the first one.

Since my driver license is also valid until March, according to the first extension, should I let the DMV know I got 6 more months? Or just wait until it's time to renew it? I just don't want to have any problem with them. Thank you!

Did you request the 24 month extension yourself? Because I didn’t get anything from them yet !!! Btw I filedI-751 August 2020 got the 18 month extension that’s it!!!

Some updates - I had my interview earlier today and I think it went well.

    Following is the case history:

Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled.    September 27, 2021

We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review.     September 27, 2021

We scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.     August 19, 2021

We are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Our records showed nothing is outstanding at this time.     August 14, 2021

We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and sent you a receipt notice.     August 11, 2021

Interview was pretty standard - English reading, writing and civics questions. I applied on the basis of five years of residency post GC. I did not have any criminal record, any travel more than 40 days, or any other complications. The office was extremely friendly and nice. Everyone in the office treated me well - right from security, to receptionist, to the office.

I'm super thankful to everyone for all the help. I'm here to assist in any way possible. :)

Congratulations! I have almost the same time line but still stuck on actively being reviewed!!!
also my I-751 been waiting for interview to be scheduled since July, I mean how hard can scheduling an interview would be !!! Really!!!its been 17 months since we applied to remove the condition

    Hello,

I applied for my N400 on Aug 25, got the notice that they would reuse my biometrics right after. On August 30th my interview was scheduled for September 30th.

Is this the interview that I will have to take a civic test?

If so, how long do I wait for the oath ceremony right after?

Surprised this is moving so fast as the last few years have been so slow!

Wow that was so fast??? What did you do guys to USCIS?

Yep, I’ve read on here that it does expedite the application in some cases and that in some cases the applications are merged into a single case with 1 interview for naturalization.

I paid the biometrics fee twice just to err on the side of caution since they were part of the fees for both applications. I’d rather pay twice than have an application rejected on the off-chance that my assumption is wrong. I have read on here that people had their biometrics from the I-751 process reused for their N-400 application.

I didn’t get my biometrics appointment for the I-751 until after I was eligible to apply for my N-400 for naturalization so I just paid twice. Had my biometrics appointment today. Now just have to wait for the next step.

Did u file the N400 online ? If yes please could you tell me which documents you submitted?

Yes you absolutely can which saves you the cost and time of sending it through courier. I sent mine online. It’s essentially exactly the same as the paper form but you just type in the text boxes for each section online and then move on until you’re done. You can also upload whatever evidence you want to include with your application directly to USCIS online. It’s a great alternative to the traditional mail filing method.

    Great ! Thanks 😊

The requirement is for 3 years of living in the United States together with your spouse after receiving your conditional green card, not 3 years of marriage to your spouse.

I’m a similar timeline to you. I got married in April 2017, applied for a CR1 visa which I received and activated in August 2018 when I moved to the US to live with my spouse which set the 3 year clock for me to apply for naturalization. I applied for removal of conditions last summer. However, you don’t have to wait until exactly 3 years after you activate your CR1 visa (conditional green card) for your N-400 naturalization application.

You as a US citizen spouse can apply exactly 90 days (not one day earlier) prior to the 3 year anniversary of getting your green card and living with your spouse as long as you’ve met the minimum US residency requirement in each of those 3 years. https://www.uscis.gov/forms/uscis-early-filing-calculator

An absence of more than 6 months (more than 180 days) but less than 1 year (less than 365 days) during the period for which continuous residence is required (also called “the statutory period”) is presumed to break the continuity of such residence. (https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-d-chapter-3)

I was eligible to apply for naturalization in late May 2021 for a conditional green card issued in August 2018 with the 90 day early filing provision. With the timeline you described you shouldn’t have to wait until October, you might be able to file this month! 3 months can help cut into the long processing times for N-400s (which can still take over a year).

Can I file the N40O online ? What’s the difference between this and paper filing?

I’m still on my conditional 2-year green card with an 18 month extension from my I-797 Notice of Action after filing my I-751 application for Removal of Conditions. You can apply for naturalization earlier if you marry a US citizen, the wait time to file a N-400 for Naturalization as a US citizen spouse is 3 years and you can apply for naturalization while you’re I-751 application is in progress once you hit 90 days from the 3 year mark of getting your green card.

3 year process time for naturalization???? That’s new !!! Thanks for the feedback!
