  1. My husband got the same RFE, requesting the joint sponsor include all documents from the most current tax return. w2, ect.. So that is what we sent back to them, only the most current, 2006, all pages submitted to IRS. What we originally sent them from the joint sponsor was, the 1040 form. I wasn't too suprised they requested all pages, which was 24 pgs. We have not heard back from USCIS about the RFE, because it just got delivered back to MO, on the 16th.

  2. If it were me, I would not send them the original divorce decree. From the way it sounds you need to send them a legible copy, it doesn't say original. Maybe the copy you sent them, they could not read well. I didn't have to submit divorce decree, because niether of my husband or I were married before, so I don't know what to tell you. Though, I wish you all the best, in which ever way you decide to go about this situation.

  3. Folks We received the AOS receipt notice almost 4 weeks ago. However have not received the notice for Biometrics.

    AOS receipt date is 10/19/07.

Is this normal... I see most folks received their notices within 2-3 weeks.

Any one in the same boat ?

My husband is still in your boat. NOA1 dated October 25, got an RFE Nov. 13 in the mail and mailed it back out yesterday. Do you happen to live in or near Tampa? I have heard from someone, it's slow getting biometric appts. out of Tampa. Thats where we live. I hope this wait can hurry up, my husband just had to stop working and he hates it.

  4. Thanks for the quick reply's. We decided to have my mom send them to my job. But she wants to send them FedEx, I'm sure thats ok, but costly. The reason we were trying to rush to get it and send back to USCIS, is like everyone else, my husband has to start his 90 day waiting period all over for EAD, once the new documents are received. It states this on the notice they sent and he is dying to go back to work!!! Another reason for rushing to send back is the Thanksgiving holiday is coming next week and wanted USCIS to get it before then.

  5. Hey all, My husband got an RFE today, yes that notorious pink paper. Joint sponsor has to submit all tax documents. Seems like they get a lot of people for this. Anyway, my mom is going to fax me all her tax documents, as she lives in a different state. I don't have a fax machine of my own, so I decide tomorrow she will fax them to UPS. Has anyone used UPS for receiving faxes, do they come out clear enough to read? Clear enough though, I'm wondering if the USCIS would have a problem if I sent them copies of faxed documents. If anyone knows anything please help. Thanks so much.

  6. You have been given a lot of good advice. If you are still worried about the CO finding out about the traditional wedding, change it up and say it was an engagement, if that is possible. Or just don't go through with having a traditional wedding, then you have nothing to worry about. I understand it is important for your family to have the traditional wedding, but if it is putting you at risk of not getting the visa, then why go ahead with it? Probably you are making this a bigger issue then it really is, just decide what you are going to do and don't worry about it. The reason I say that is, my husband and I, had an issue we off and on argued about before his interview. We met from his mother, she is a LPR in the US for more then 15 yrs. She(his mom) didn't want us to tell the CO we met from her. I didn't want him to lie at the interview and risk getting caught, it is mine and his relationship, not his moms. I put a post on vj once, to get advice on our situation, of lieing at interview or not. Of course everyone said DON'T LIE! But quite a lot of people told me, if we met through a family member, the CO would say I was being paid to get him to the US and deny the visa. If it was me being interviewed, I would definately not lie, it is something I really hate doing. So I told my husband, he is not to lie at all about anything!!! I don't care what his mom says. I decided at the last minute to go to Ghana and be there for the interview. I was let into the embassy and waited in the waiting room for my fiance (at the time) to finish. But the CO wanted to interview me as well. We stood right next to each other as the CO took turns asking each of us questions, one of the questions he asked me was the one I didn't want to face, SO How did you two meet?? I was so nervous to tell the truth, I said, from a friend, we were introduced over the phone. He wanted my friends name and I told him, her first and last name. (which I'm sure by then he knew that was his mom, we had to put her name on the applications). He wanted me to explain how we were put on the phone to talk that day. Which was to say hi and we exchanged email addresses. I never refered to my friend, as his mother. He did ask me if my friend was paying me to get him to the US and I told him no, she would never do that. Anyway, we had no problems at the interview. You'll have a little time to think about it, I see you got the approval on the petition, wonderful news!!! Of course in the end you are going to do, what you want to do. Just remember, if you don't lie, you never have to worry about getting caught. All this being said, I wish you the best and a speedy visa approval.

I know you didn't post your question, to hear my story, but I thought it would help you in some way. Sorry if it was so lengthy :)

  7. I use Pingo, well not much any more since my husband is here. He's the one using it, now! I like it for many reasons, especially because we could print out the call logs, which was very helpful for the interview. As with calling cards you don't have a record. From what I understand it is a big plus to have calling logs for the interview. I got real spoiled with pingo and didn't want to go back to calling cards, I love getting through the first time dialing, clear calls, pinless. There's a lot of plusses. I'd keep using it.

When printing the call logs from pingo, it opens up to an excel spread sheet but its not on any type of pingo letter head...is this still considered acceptable at the embassy? Because the only way that I see that I can get the pingo logo on there is if I print each page one by one, which wastes time and paper...not to mention more costly to mail because of the weight!

OR am I just not seeing another way?

I actually spent a bit of time printing those call logs out. Mine didn't open to the excel spread sheet, but I selected the section that I wanted to print and printed on both sides of the paper, lol. It did take time to do, and it was better to use up both sides, much less paper. Also, when I selected the portion I wanted to print, it didn't have pingo's name anywhere on it. I did just the portion in dark and light blue, so maybe you could print out the spread sheet, during the interview they didn't ask anything about the call logs.

  8. So basically my fiance should not say he has already been issued an interview date because they may not let him go in to hand in the medicals b4 then?

Unless they tell you something different at the medical exam the results are just taken with you on the day of the interview along with all the other documentation (I-134, proof of existing relationship etc etc).

Right Zee, your fiance will bring the medical exam results to the embassy, in the sealed envelope, the day of the interview. I don't at all believe you could bring them before the interview. I think my husband picked up his exam from the akai house, a couple weeks before the interview.

  9. Sounds like you got it all, we included a letter of intent at the interview. Like what Zainab said, it's sounds like a good idea. I probably would not send 125 photos. I don't know about Nigeria, though I heard they only take a few at the interview. It would cut the weight of your package down a little bit, if you didn't include so many. Maybe someone else who has gone through Nigeria can let you know, what the embassy allows. If it were me, I would show about 15 photos. We knew Ghana didn't let you show a whole album, just to pick out a few to show. I think we gave 10 or so and they didn't complain. Also, don't wait til the last min to send, you got to give your SO enough time to look through everything and familiarize himself with the paperwork, to present at the interview. Plus, what Zainab said about the other vj member who's package just about didn't make it there in time for interview. Hurry!

  10. I use Pingo, well not much any more since my husband is here. He's the one using it, now! 11. My husband had his interview on a Monday, he was told to come back that Friday to get the visa. They didn't have it ready and told him to come back one week from that day. It was ready then, that was 11 days after the interview. I guess it depends on how busy they are and as always they take their time in Ghana. It's pretty unpredictable how long it will take, everyone's case is different. Best wishes, are you going to be there for the interview?

  12. I'm sorry to hear whats happening to your husband. I don't know anything about Colorado, I just wanted to say, they sound crazy. My husband got his license, here in Tampa, way before we got married. They have it expiring Nov. 9th, along with everything else, thats when his 90 days is up. After he took the license test, he had to wait for the license to be mailed to him, they wouldn't give it the same day, it took approx. 2 weeks to arrive. I wish your husband all the best.

  13. On the I-129f, I only used the little tiny space provided. I basically said we met through a friend and I traveled to meet him in person and we had a good family time together. Also, we did not provide the letter of intent to marry when we filed the petition. We had NO problems at all. I thought we better submit the letter of intent though at the interview, for the both of us. So we used the example form here on vj. Did not provide any details, just put exactly what is on the example form. Of course everyone's situation is different, and you do what you feel is best. Best wishes!

  14. There is another member/members on here that have had the same thing happen, with the Accra Embassy, as far as the embassy saying they did not receive their paperwork, but yet still mailed them something to come pick up package 3. Don't worry, they have everything, the consulate workers just say they don't.

I got a letter from the embassy too, telling me to have my fiance come to the embassy and pick package 3. But by the time I got that letter, he had already got his interview date. The letters just come so late. The dates on my letter and envelope had about a months difference too. Don't worry about it, as long as you got the interview date, then you are all set.

We all missed or will miss holidays with our loved one. You'll have to wait in line like the rest. The Accra Embassy gives out interview dates way far away. Yours sounds about right, there are other members on here that have interview dates in March as well.

Read this link http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...91630&st=15 the comment on there from Jennifer & James. Contact your senator maybe they can help. But what I can suggest is don't wait to do the medical exam or vaccinations just in case you do get your date changed. That way you will have it done and out of the way, if I can think of anything else, I'll put another reply.

  15. I never had a problem using USPS, I didn't mail anything of much importance to my husband through USPS, because you just never know. I used DHL & FedEx for the more important things. But anything we mailed to each other made it just fine and arriving approx 2 weeks and sometimes less! Yes, I would make copies too.
