  1. :o Ricca, I am worried for you!! All the answers you were given are right on point as far as I remember it from Solo's medical exam and vaccinations. I'm thankful Solo told me when he did everything, I would hate the worry! Just like you all, I want to be the one in control. I think Solo did his about 3 months early. But having to make multiple trips back for this and that, took a while and I really don't believe they work on the weekends or holidays. He better get moving asap. Do you think maybe he has already finished them and thats why he says he's got it under control?

Anywho, I hope you and your son are doing well. We've not mailed each other in a long time, I need to catch you up on things ;)

  2. Oh, I am sooo sorry to hear what has happpened. I was really looking forward to you coming back and telling the good news. This really sucks and I hope things will get better real soon. You have been at this a long time and if anyone deserves to be approved, it is you. Great days are coming, keep positive. God bless.

  3. me personally i would talk him into a two week trip back to his country and about a week have someone call me saying my aunt had a heart attack and not expected to live or a similar story and tell him i have to get back home so u just stay and enjoy whats left of the vacation with his family and take off with his green card in hand. i dont believe he will be able to get back into the country without it. then leave a note under his pillow...hows it feel to be scammed? tell him dont even bother to return to the country becasuse u have already notified USCIS of the fraud marriege and provided them with the proof so if he comes back he will be arrested. i would think that should put the fear of God in him not to return. of course i would sent my findings to the USCIS before i left to let them have time to put a red flag on his green card so if he did try to return they might not admit him.

really im sorry to hear things didnt work out for u. its really ashame when u give ur life and heart to someone evil like him.

i wish u much luck in ur future in finding a nice guy to settle down with.

Great, clever idea!!! I love it.:thumbs:

  4. Hello and welcome to VJ, we live in Tampa as well. Not sure what you are asking about anyone in the same situation. But we applied for K1 visa, my husband has been here since August, things are great. We were married in Sept, he is working and getting ready to start school. My husband and I are the same age. Where about in Tampa do you stay? I've lived in Tampa, almost 4 years, in August will be the 4th year. Well, I hope you are liking Tampa.

  5. anyone applied for state ID in the Tampa area? how long was it valid for during the AOS process?

When my husband first got here, before we applied for AOS, he was able to get a DL, they made the expiration for the 3 months. So it was going to expire when his visa was and they too wrote temporary in big red letters. He then was trying to get a new one around the time it was going to expire, which I did not think was going to be possible because he had not been approved for his GC. To my suprise he was able to get a new one just by showing the NOA1 for AOS, valid for one year, again with temporary in big red letters.

  6. We had the bio-metrics appointment today..

Our appointment was at 11am but we showed up around 9.50am and the room was packed already and our number wasn't called until 11.10am and it took about another 20-30 min for the FP process & taking your photo and we were out at 11.35am..

Tampa is darn slow...plan to arrive at least an hour or two before your appointment..

There is plenty of free-parking around the building and no cell phones allowed inside...

It really took you a long time at your biometrics appt. I'm shocked, but maybe now they are real slow. My husband went for his, just this past December, the appt was at 11am, we got there about 10:30am or so, he was finished before is scheduled appt. about 10:50am he was finished. Maybe for my husbands appt, they were trying to rush to get through because the holiday was right around the corner, who knows.

  7. i'm mad today... i went to apply for a scholarship and this lady made me so mad.....

on the form it asks to put down your race; (One race only) WHITE- BLACK- ASIAN- HISPANIC (non-white)- INDIAN

so I ask her can I write OTHER or BLACK and ARAB? she says no. if you are black, you are black. and to me you are BLACK, so put BLACK.

i was like ????? damn... i thought it was quite racist... but refused to comment...

Hi, I know I typically don't post on this thread, but I saw this post and had to say something... Those forms make me so angry!! My son is half black/half white so there is always going to be the discussion of "Mommy, what do I choose?" I don't see why he should have to choose. If they have to have those stupid questions to try to pigeonhole people, they should at least acknowledge the fact that not everyone fits a perfect mold so perhaps they should put a "choose all that apply" option. I know he's probably going to end up choosing the black option because that will help him get scholarships but really, does half his heritage have to be forgotten?

Ok, rant over. Hope everyone has a good day!

I always mark both white and black for my children on the forms. I don't mind if it says choose only one, unless it is a computerized form and you can only choose one. In those cases I don't pick one, as your race should not matter. I know to some it matters. I always wonder what my husband is going to put on forms, because to be honest most of the forms I see, say african american, and I know he is very proud of his Ghanaian heritage. I agree with kanyiri they should have, "choose all that apply", or if none apply a blank space to fill in what your race is, since race matters so much on forms. These things upset me because we are all humans, why would it matter what color we are.

  8. Zee, I remember her as well. When I read the name, I thought oh my, is this the same person?, no it couldn't be. Scrolled down and read what you wrote, Lord, it is her. She was so mad at me on her other post last year or so. I had different name then, Akim Oda or Yaalisa. But, if she has found another man, good for her. Because the things she was saying about her other husband or boyfriend from Nigeria, were not good, the way he treated her and she allowed him to treat her that way.

I love your comment Zee, :D, I'm glad you found that!!

  9. Hey Do you guys know if you can bring cell phones and other electronic devices in embassy?

no you can't bring your cell in the embassy, the security use plastic bowls for everyone to put their phone in. You will get it back when you are finished, I wondered if I was really going to get mine back because everyone puts theirs in the same bowl, anyone could take it. But don't worry, both times I was at the embassy, there were no problems. I also had my camera in my bag, they made me give it to them as well. They will know if you don't give them the electronic devices because you and your purse or bag have to go through screening, like at the airports.

I am looking forward to hearing the outcomes of your interview and also Zee's, I'm so excited for you two.

  10. i think i need to clarify this issue from my personal experience. i got a student visa to canada 2005 from nigeria, then i went to KLM office in churchgate to purchase my ticket and they ask for the copy of my visa because i told them that i need one way ticket, and i gave them the copy of the visa then i paid for one way ticket, they told me that i dont need a transit visa since am not going on visiting,if am going on a visit i will have to get a return ticket wich require me to get transit A visa. then explain to me that if one is going on a an immigrant, student, work permit, or any visa that will allow u stay indefinately u dont need one. i left nija without problem. and when i was having my stopover in schipol airport in amsterdam, we were like 8 nigerian with difference visa 3 student visa to USA, 1 immigrant visa to USA, 2 student visa to canada plus me then 1 work permit visa to canada also and 1 permanent resident to uk, none of us hold transit visa and got no problem about that, according to the airliner if u need one they would not let u board the plane from ur home country at all,let alone sending u back.

I belive what the OP is trying to avoid is getting to the airport ready to fly and being told her husband needs the transit visa, which takes longer then a few minutes to get. She wants him to fly back with her.

Thats great everything worked out for you and your friends. I forget how my husband found out he needed a transit visa to pass through Italy, I think he went to the Italian Embassy website and read it on there.

So ask the airline you buy the ticket from, also check the embassy website.

  11. Hi

I traveled by way of Detroit to Amsterdam onto Abuja Nigeria. I didn't need a transit visa neither time I traveled through Amsterdam. I traveled this route twice. Hope this helps.

Are you the USC?, if so, you would not need a transit visa. I didn't need a transit visa either when I traveled through Amsterdam, because I am not an immigrant.

  12. I've not read this all through, but why not everyone just ignore Idocares threads when she starts them in the first place. If she does not have fuel for her fire, she'll eventually give up. If she gets Zer0 replys, boy won't she be bored and see no one cares to read her sh!+
