VA21202 got a reaction from CaveMan2 in Montreal embassy EB-2 interview wait time
I would assume so, if you notice the actual post I shared it seems the person is talking about an EB2 application, albeit in an EB3 forum
”Interview letter received today. EB-2 DQ 9th Feb 2022 Interview date 27th April “

It’s a standard letter from NVC that pops up every 60 days which basically confirms that they’ve received your application and documents and haven’t done anything with it since MTL hasn’t scheduled any interviews…. and will send you another email every 60 days to inform you that they haven’t still done anything with it.

Ughhhhh...no IL for us yet and status is still at NVC. WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!

No idea, but I’m guessing someone added that in assuming linear progression based on a couple of earlier rounds when EB were issued a couple of months in one go. Of course that hasn’t continued at all and things have been as unpredictable as ever.

I used premium processing for I-140 and got result in 10 days.

Premium processing is and has been available for all EB categories, except for EB-2 NIW and EB1c, because those cases tend to be more complicated. Now USCIS has just added those categories.

Lol, I guess two batches of interviews for IR/CR now? One on May 2 and one today. Makes sense, they have a tremendous backlog of 45 days at this point 😕

@AHay Good news for those who are still at USCIS stage. However not helpful for NVC/consulate stage.

Thanks for the update, sorry about that. Hoping it’s the case where you are going to be scheduled anyway later this month and so they’re not acting on your email immediately since it’s only a few days away now. If they don’t issue letters this month too, it’s very very concerning and depressing.

Apparently they were able to get some additional staff to clear the IR/CR backlog during Q4 2021, now that they are done with clearing that high priority backlog, they are back to regular capacity for dealing with the rest of us.

Updated for April 2022

Visa statistics are in. Montreal reduced its capacity significantly for April interviews.

There could be spouses living and working in the US on a work visa (H1B, L1 etc.) while the applicant is waiting to get this interview to go to the US on a green card via EB. Spouses are separated in this case and due to various EAD requirements for spouses of H1Bs, it’s not a straightforward move to the US. Hence family reunification comes in to the mix.

Yup, Raisins was only kidding. Focus on getting in and getting out safely. You asking them at the interview will not really help in anyway, you’ve waited too long for this so save yourself
Gosh June 29 feels so far away though! I hope we see two full rounds of month end letters before your interview!

I sent the email to the Consulate in Montreal only, and did not copy the NVC. Hopefully you sent your email to Montreal and not the NVC.

I recall Sorrel being March 11. I remember coz vancitycdn8 was on March 1, just 10 days ahead of Sorrel and yet Sorrel hadn’t received IL at the end of March

No! It just says you already have an appointment booked and then it goes on to repeat everything that was in the interview letter. But at least they responded!

Might make better sense for you given DQ was just 2 months ago. Just be prepared for either outcome and try not to regret just in case MTL all of a sudden (highly unlikely though) starts flushing out EBs like there’s no tomorrow (like they did with IR earlier and now with FB). Just back yourself and trust your decisions, the good thing is you’ll be in the US anyway so that’s definitely great! In my case, DQ is June 2020 so I believe I’m close and my lawyers were unable to provide a good range for AOS (I’ve heard anything from 14 months to 27 months) so I’m planning on staying the course for now. All the best!

Might be worth sending an email similar to Sorrel’s? After all you are March DQ too!
