  1. I believe proof of residency in the UK would be key. As I recall, that was the main issue for me.
  2. I tried transferring but I was rejected.
  3. Just planning my move to the US, but curious if it's permitted to work in Canada in the interim after initially crossing the border to the US in early January (looking for a house), then returning to Canada for 6 weeks before finally moving and transporting our belongings in late February. So is it possible to work in Canada in the interim (after the initial border crossing) until late February?
  4. I am a healthcare worker, working in the field of mental health and addiction. With the opiate epidemic, expediting would be important since treating opiate addiction is a large part of my work. No luck with expedite requests however.
  5. I have a question about EB2 NIW expectations. I plan to move to the US in January 2023, but would like to go down there first to look for a house for 2-3 weeks, then return to Canada and transport all belongings. So it may take a month or so after my initial entry before I can start work. Is this an issue?
  6. Update EB2 NIW petition received by USCIS April 2020 USCIS approval Dec 2021 DQ'd May 27 2022 Interview and approval: Sept 23, 2022 I tried expediting my interview twice after being DQ'd , but was denied both times. I was surprised to receive my interview date in September. Interview was straightforward.
  7. Yes but under the NIW, one needs to outline an endeavour or enterprise that they plan to work towards. I'm curious about the level of scrutiny, level of monitoring. Is there a rough outline somewhere? I plan to open a healthcare clinic, but early months will require marketing, finding office space, etc. So minimal caseload early on. I just hope there is some understanding from US immigration that this takes time and there are many aspects to running a clinic aside from seeing patients, especially in the early stages.
  8. For those applying for EB2-NIW, what are the specific requirements after approval and entering the US? Are there specifications on number of hours of work per week? Permitted vacation time? I can't seem to find details about this.
  9. Any updates on Mandamus? Also curious about various fees attorneys charge to file a mandamus case. Joshua Goldstein's law firm said I have a strong case. I was DQ'd in late May 2022. They charge a flat fee of $5400 USD Mandamus lawsuits seem to be their expertise, but I still need to compare this fee to other firms.
  10. Amazing! I appreciate you taking this important step on behalf of all of us. I will private message you!
  11. I wonder if this is an issue to be brought to the media ie. Fox news. Fox news is great at pointing out deficiencies in the current administration's policies. Obviously illegal immigration remains a hot topic in the US, but there continue to be high numbers of illegal immigrants entering the US, whereas people using appropriate channels, who will be productive members of the US economy are waiting 26 months for an interview!
  12. Yes British citizen, but moved from UK 34 years ago. I just need to check how long is required to live there to demonstrate 'residing' in the UK.
