I'm sorry to hear what you are going through. It is quite unfortunate. However, my advise to everyone who submits their documents to NVC is to do a thorough research beforehand about the required documents and additional documents that maybe required pertaining to their case. I am aware that NVC does not inform in advance as to what exact documents are required. Some of their instructions seem outdated to be honest. Just to give you an example: As per NVC's requirement/instructions, they require either an IRS transcript OR W2/1099 but not both. HOWEVER, evidences here on VJ showed that some people got an RFE requesting W2/1099 when they submitted Tax transcripts only. I did my research and came to find out that in our case even though the taxes were filed ''Married filing separately', it would be a good idea to submit W2/1099 too just in case (So that we can avoid an RFE). And that decision helped. Though as per NVC it was not required but we still submitted it.
