I got the NVC Case # after contacting the NVC. I wanted to know if I can go ahead and fill out the DS-160 form and pay for it so I can schedule the interview. Or should I wait until my case says ‘ready’?

Hello, were you able to schedule your interview

  2. Welcome and Congratulations on your approval!

This thread was created for those who are waiting for their NOA2  K-1 case assignment from NVC and then tracking your case onwards to your Embassy.

    A few helpful NVC links:

     NVC phone number is  (603)334-0888

🚨  Please note:  They are currently NOT answering queries over the phone! 🚨

They are answering through the below email :

    ➡️  NVCinquiry@state.gov ⬅️

Once you’ve received your NVC case number you can track your case online using the following link, until it is sent to your embassy:

    https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV

If you need to change an address or need to update your info in anyway NVC has a public inquiry form where you can submit your request as well as other requests:

Inside the attached PDF below are a few tips, tricks and hacks to help you along the way.

These are items that everyone asks for, so they have been put together by VJ Member Greenbaum for you to refer to when necessary. If you are new to this thread, please read first as these are the most asked questions.

NVC sends petitions every two weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Someone very helpful has created a chart for 2023 that you can use to track when the next shipment date will be. It seems to line up with all the dates I’ve seen so far so I think it’s accurate and will include it below.

I‘m curious did you guys send direct email via NVCinquiry@state.gov, or through the public inquiry form to ask updates on received or case creation? My understanding (as what's told on the first post) for the online form is to update your information or change address etc.

It is not only to update your information. If you click the link you will see that there are many options

Hey! Happy to share how I've been nerd-ing out over this! So I've been looking at timelines here on VisaJourney, particularly people's NOA2 dates and NVC receive dates. I also looked for dates that people got their NVC case numbers. The pattern shows that, recently, cases have often (not always) been sent out around roughly 3 months after the NOA2 and around roughly 3 weeks after NVC case creation. This does vary, of course.

Then I looked at the calendar of dates the NVC supposedly ships cases to embassies, which I got from the Facebook group for "July & August 2021 K1 Visa Filers".

February 14, the next shipping date, seems to line up with my timeline based on the stats I mentioned above. (My NOA2 is 11/14 and NVC case creation date was 1/21.) I know that this is not a guarantee and things can always change, but it does give me some idea of when I might be able to expect my case to be sent out.

Although it's not certain, hope it helps!

I was previously including a 2023 shipping dates chart that’s created based off last years data, but I’ve been told the shipping dates have changed this year and I have not located an accurate chart. In any case, they are sent every two weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so  if anyone has an accurate shipping chart, please feel free to share it below!

I am just corresponding through email with NVC and I have gotten so many discrepancies dealing with them when I inquire about something. But thank you, that is good news. Will embassy send me a letter by mail or email to let me know that they have my case and I can schedule my interview? I have completed the DS-160 just need to pay the fee and then schedule. This makes me feel so much better as I have been waiting for this for almost two years now.

Nvc can give conflicting information regarding next steps for DR so I would take what they say with a grain of salt. But Jamie is right, the embassy requests cases every two weeks on Tuesday and Wednesday and you should be on the lookout those days to see if your case is in the next batch that gets sent. And no, the embassy will not send you any correspondence regarding any next steps. When your case is sent to the embassy, NVC will email you something called a Welcome Letter. It has loose instructions of what your next steps  will be. It’s not complete by any means

Hello, you need to wait until it says Ready and then you can do that.

No Expedite at any stage. When we applied USCIS was about 6-8 months for NOA-2. After that we got stuck at NVC waiting for interview. And once we applied for AOS everything moved super quick. Greencard in 3 months.

Yeah processing times were still slow back then but better than they currently are. My petition took about 6 months (RFE) and then about 2 weeks after I sent my RFE response for USCIS approval. So about 7 months.

I did expedite at NVC though

Is there anything else he can do? He's worried that they've lost his petition. Does waiting 80+ days for the RECEIPT (not that it's left NVC or that the consulate's received it but that NVC has received it) seem normal?

I don’t think there’s much else he can do except keep sending inquiries until they confirm they’ve received the file. NVC is taking upwards of 90 days to confirm receipt of K1 petition recently

We got our noa2 in December 13th, our embassy is in the Dominican republic. We are planning our wedding for April, already booked a venue. What is the timeline we should expect from now for the following?

    1. Get NVC case number

    2. Be able to get a interview

    3. Nail the interview

    4. Get passport with visa

If you have any info for any of this it would help a lot!

I don’t think you will be able to get married in April. It is taking nvc awhile to assign the case number and also the interview dates are currently in February in DR. By the time your case is sent, the calendar could easily be in May

Is it true we need Covid vaccine to schedule medical appointment? I thought k 1 is not required until u come here to adjust visa

Yes beneficiary is required to have Covid vaccine prior to medical exam. The requirement is only for the beneficiary.

Covid vaccine is different than the other mandatory vaccines. They require you to have it and get it before they actually get any medical exams done. The rest of the vaccines you will be able to choose whether to get them done in the USA or country of origin but not the Covid.

I’m speaking off of experience but I’ve also read that a majority of countries are doing the same thing

You will use the I-134 only.

i-864 is only used once your fiancé arrives in the US
