TIES
To get a Visitor's Visa, you need to demonstrate ties to your country of residence.
To get a Spousal Visa, you need to demonstrate ties to your spouse.
To get Citizenship, you need to demonstrate ties to your new country of citizenship.
But before all that...you need one very important tie..Ties to your own life. This too is very important.
If you cannot live in one country with your spouse, fight for that ability, and if you lose, consider living elsewhere.
But a Romeo and Juliet type of thinking, and killing oneself, is not healthy, mature, or warranted.
Just my view...
And yes, spousal visa would be one of the last ones of the family visas to be affected, I would think.
Thank you.

Then what email do you have to wait 5-7 days more?

yes, about the DQ. Someone told me is not always a good source, but if it gives you reassurance feel free to check your account every day.
So you receive a “case complete” letter immediately with status change on the CEAC? And what letter does it take 5-7 days to receive then?

You'll receive an email and a message in the ceac account inbox at the same time.
About the DQ?

Someone told me, that first you’ll see status change in the CEAC account, but for the actual “case complete“ email to come it takes another 5-7 days. No??

Please tell. I do not understand.
CR-1 Visa. We submitted al documents, then received an email with notice, that I-864 was missing the last page. We resubmitted it. So now will we receive an email first from NVC when DQ or will we see the status change on the website first???
Thanks in advance,
Daria

I am not saying the process isn't stressful, but losing ones mind over it is certainly a choice and not a given. Many have survived the process before us, and many will survive it after us. Many are laughing about the complaints that we have about a 4 months delay due to covid, as they have fought for multiple years to be with their loved ones.
You are only waiting for your embassy to re-open, and schedule your interview. Count your blessings.
We are not DQed yet.

You are married to a USC - if any category is the one that has been impacted the least amount of all so far, yours is it.
Not a single prior proposal has suggested that spouses of USC will not be eligible for immigrant visas in the future.
For your own sanity, I recommend that you follow the advice given above, and stop researching non valuable opinions on the world wide web.Lol, what sanity are you talking about during the immigration process??? HA-HA-HA.

You’d rather end your life then move to the foreigners country? You have an option..
I’d rather live with my legal American citizen husband.

The terms of service will not allow me to use the profanity I would like in response to articles like that. Will it AFFECT some visa applicants? Certainly.......Will it STOP ALL FAMILY BASED IMMIGRATION (as you stated).......NO way!!!!
WELL, HOW DO YOU CHOOSE SOME VISA APPLICANTS???? ONE SPOUSE GET THE VISA AND OTHER WILL NOT??? BASED ON WHO MAKES MORE MONEY????
THIS IS SUCH A (removed). -

I guarantee it will not stop all family based immigration....that is pure nonsense...No reason to worry about something isn't in existence yet. I suggest you stop watching Youtube videos and FB posts which are published just to promote fear. These people know absolutely NOTHING. They are trying to get clicks or they are trying to stir up political mud.............NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING YET!!!!!!
I will go end my life. It has no point anymore. Since I am never to be with my legal husband. Bureaucracy destroys everything.

Is Trump’s new immigration act about the merit based immigration system will really affect the family based visas??? What if they are in process already and soon to be interviewed???
I am seriously worried right now. I’ve seen video on YouTube of a woman and she said that this new merit based system will stop all of the family based immigration.
WHYYYY IS THAT SO. I WILL START TO CRY RIGHT NOW. WHY THEY DO NOT LET ME FINISH THIS PROCESS AND MOVE ALREADY. WHY IS IT SO PAINFUL......

You swear that you are telling the truth and all your documents are truthful and correct .. but it’s not like the “oath of allegiance” that is said at citizenship ceremonies

Having the visa in your hands is better than it is sitting with the Embassy. Simple connotation reflective of your case. Everyone here has opined that she would have picked up the visa and she didn't. You asked for opinions and now you have mine.
I did not ask, lol. ☺️

This is a case of "a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush". Just saying.
Do not understand how that applies here.

Where did this information come from that it could possibly be on Zoom?
No way it can be done via Zoom. How can anyone even imagine this happening. Lol.

You can google but you have to be in person because they have to verify who you are and will obtain fingerprints as well as make you swear an oath that has to be done in person.
Do you have to say an oath at the interview even for the CR-1/IR-1 visa??? 🤨

Where do you currently reside? Which citizenship(s) do you have?
Russian Federation. Citizenship of Russia accordingly.

Yes- look up what happens if you legally move to another country and how you transfer your petition to that embassy.
So you can’t just transfer because you want to??
-
1 hour ago, Luckycuds said:
No unless you moved and are now legally residing in that country.
Can you guarantee the info you are saying is accurate??

Please advice.
Is that somehow possible to transfer the immigrant visa case interview (CR-1 spousal visa) to another country if in my country the embassy is still closed?
Or will that take just even longer time?
Thanks.

No...It is a separate fee....You must pay it after the interview. The new immigrant will not receive a plastic green card until he/she has entered the US AND the $220 fee has been paid. It can be paid either before or after entering the US....however, a plastic green card will not be issued until the $220 fee has been paid. Most people pay it immediately after the interview.
Thanks. But during the interview no other fees?
