You can always call and see if they can tell you when the NC was shipped. It can also be that USPS is slower than usual.

Have you ever talked to a live agent about passport application? I received my passport but have not received my NC and it has been over 5 weeks. I try calling the number it just gives me the IVR options and no live agent.

    Hello VJ Family,

I just got schedule for an interview for October 26, 2021 at Pittsburgh, PA office. Excited but nervous too.

    Quick question:

Some documents I didn't upload at the time of submitting my N400 application.

Can I upload them now or it's too late ? 😕

    or

I can take them at the time of interview and show to the officer?

Any help or advice please :)

I would say don't worry about uploading them. Take them with you and 99% chances are that the IO won't even ask for it (Unless you missed uploading the Required docs like tax returns/GC etc.) You should be good!

Yep, it now says sent instead of emailed.  What an odd update to make that would trigger the "we've taken an action on your case email"....got my hopes up that an interview was about to be scheduled.....oh well.  Thanks!

Haha! Yep, been through this roller coaster so just keep your hopes up. Since you've filed in March, I reckon your interview notice should be on its way!

Had an odd thing happen and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.  On Saturday at 5:45am I got an email from USCIS stating "We have taken an action on your case.  Sign into your account to view your case status." so I logged in and saw no update besides "Case was received" and no updated documents.  I checked a few other times throughout Saturday and it remained the same.  On Sunday I decided to check again a couple of times, thinking maybe the update might require an overnight process to update, but case was still on received.  I then logged in this morning to check, thinking maybe updates don't happen on the weekends and they get pushed to Mondays, and case is still on the received status.  I don't know if it was an email that got sent out in error, or if they've started to work on the case but the system hasn't updated, so wanted to check in to see if anyone else had experienced this.

Does it say, "...we've sent you the notice" or "...we've emailed you the notice"? I remember this happened to some of us where it was updated from:

"We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and emailed you a receipt notice." to "We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and sent you a receipt notice."

Hey! Congratulations!!! So happy for you! Now I have  question, you said the officer went over the yes and no questions right after the civic test, so didn't she go over personal things on the n400, like name/ssn/living history/working history/traveling abroad? Thank you so much in advance and congratulations again!!!

Thank you Savva! Yes, that was the transition from Civics test to Yes/No questions BUT she only asked my name, DOB, Address, Spouse's Name, And where do I work.

  7. INTERVIEW DONE AND IN LINE FOR OATH CEREMONY!

First of all, thanks to all the active members of this community for sharing your experiences/thoughts.

    How it went:

    • Got to the Cleveland office around 7:30 AM for the 8 AM interview. They let us in at 8 AM and we were directed to the 5th floor.
    • Even though I was like the 20th person to check in, I was called first for the interview.
    • The IO who came to get me was super nice and super friendly and talked like I've known her for years.
    • She kept me standing in her cabin, had me raise my right hand and I had to say "I do" after she was done stating the oath.
    • Mask On/Off does not matter. There was a plexiglass between us.
    • She asked for my Passport, GC and a State Issued ID (I did not have a physical DL so I showed her the temporary paper, it worked fine)
    • She said, well if you are ready, I am ready. Shall we begin? - Sure
    • Reading Test: When is the President's Day?
    • Writing Test: The President's day is in February. (hard to write on that tablet with a stylus)
    • Civics Test:
    1. What is one reason that led to the civil war? - Slavery
    2. How many Senators? - 100
    3. What is the one right only for the US citizens? - Vote in a federal election
    4. What is the state capital? - Columbus
    5. Who is in charge of the executive branch? - POTUS
    6. One state that borders Mexico - Texas
    • Then we went over the series of Yes/No questions and she said YOU ARE GOOD TO GO.
    • I asked if there were any Oath ceremonies today and she said unfortunately the entire month of July and August is booked since they have to print the certificates in advance but you might get lucky and get something scheduled by EOM August.
    • She walked me out of the office and that's it.
    • Took less than 15 mins End to End.

    • When I left the room and go to the elevator, I got the USCIS email saying case updated to Quality review and then got another email saying "You are in line for the Oath Ceremony"

I wish you all a good luck and again, I got the sense from her that she (all other IOs) want to make this a pleasant experience for us since this is the last milestone in our years long immigration journey.

Let me know if you all have any questions.

My USCIS account estimated time until case decision updated this morning to 12 months from 13 months (I had started at 8 months) - checked to see if my field office's processing times updated, but they didn't. I had been assuming they were just using the stock processing times for everyone, but now I'm not sure!

I wouldn't worry too much about these estimated timelines, Greg. My Estimated Completion shows 13 Months but my interview is in a few weeks. Ignore the Approximate timelines, they are worthless.

Well, personalized processing time has finally returned...and now I wish it hadn't!

Ours now says 14 months until a decision...July 2022!!?? Original estimated case processing time was November 2021!!

How accurate do we think these are?

There's also now a new asterisk note that says "*These completion projections are based on case processing for applicants who have been lawful permanent residents for at least 5 years. For all other applicants, completion projections may vary." Does that mean if you're applying based on the 3-year rule that a decision make take even longer??

Mine went from July 2021 to 11 more months. But again, I think this does not apply to the 3 year filers. They are trying to say that this new estimate is only valid for the folks who applied on the basis of 5 years of LPR. For everyone else, the estimate does not apply. Get ready for thousands of calls today, USCIS. LOL!

    It still says:

Your N-400 personalized processing time is down for maintenance. Check the estimated case processing times for your field office or service center.

The Denver field office is the closest to me, though it also says it's being processed at the National Benefits Center.

Same with me.. Says it is at NBC even though I am close to Cleveland but I am guessing once it is ready for interview, it will get transferred over to CLE (Denver in your case)

  11. 2 minutes ago, Savva said:

When you say technical problem, the robot will ask you again, do you have a problem to file a case or you have a technical problem, so say again technical problem, and then you'll be transferred, make sure you call them on business days, they answer very fast at mornings, never waited more than a minute

Got it. Thanks for the quick responses and hope you get your interview soon.

  12. 3 minutes ago, Savva said:

You don't hit any options, after the robot says that it understands complete sentences say technical problem, and then it will transfer you to the agent immediately, same with the chat, immediately you open Emma type in live agent and you'll be connected

I tried that with Emma but when I say Technical Issue, it routes me to Contact Us page lol (may be due to Saturday). I'll try calling again.

Hey! I just spoke with the representative about my case and she told me that since yesterday I'm in the queue for interview scheduling even though my anniversary it's on May 11th, so just you know

Hey - What options did you chose when trying to speak to someone? When I call it just puts me in a loop. Same with with Live chat as well. it just asks me to visit case status for the latest updates.

Same - I wonder if this is a bug due to this design update or if we all indeed have RFEs to look forward to.

Please let me know if you see an update/an actual PDF on there with the RFE letter.

May be try to call/chat with an IO through the portal. I think I saw a post on another thread where they were told that they were in a queue for an interview and neglect the "next step" on their portal which said RFE sent.
