Demian_Bones got a reaction from Gaspari in N400 RFE After Interview
They asked stuff like joint taxes for the last 3 years, w2 from my employer and letter stating what my claimed marital status is and who is listed as my emergency contact. Most of the other stuff they're asking like lease and joint taxes and bank statements, I had already submitted in my original application, I suppose they just didn't bother to look at what I had sent. Even during the interview I had brought all the stuff they're asking for in the RFE and asked if the officer wanted to look at it and she said no and that she was satisfied with what I had.

I was wondering if anyone familiar with immigration matters can chime in and provide some input on my situation. On January 24th, I attended my N400 interview at the Minneapolis field office and passed the civic questions. I'm applying under 3 years via marriage and therefore, the officer asked a few questions about my marriage like what date did we get married and whether we live with anyone, just simple stuff. She then gave me the 'Decision cannot be made' letter and said to wait for a decision in the mail and briefly talked about the process for the oath ceremony and when I can expect to receive a mail for it. However, that same day  when I got home I checked the status and saw that I had gotten an RFE for more evidence to provide bonafide marriage and I submitted the requested evidence on March 3rd and didn't hear a peep afterwards. However, after the original RFE deadline was hit which March 2nd, the online status updated to another RFE was sent on March 2nd and should receive it soon. However, I have not received anything and it's been a week since the status update. The tier 2 officer I spoke to seems confused as well and said he doesn't see another RFE other than the original one that was sent out on January 27th. Anyone with any insight on this?

Received an email from USCIS this morning saying an action was taken on my case. I checked my online status and it's now showing that my application has been approved and I have been placed in line for oath ceremony. After 3 months of radio silence, I'm glad that this is finally over and I can just wait out for the oath once the offices are open.

Demian_Bones got a reaction from kline19 in Updating Social Security Status During COVID
I actually just went through the same process. I naturalized a couple of months ago and since I had opted for a name change I had no choice but to update my SSN as well since our local DMV wouldn't change my driver's license without going through the social security administration first. Like you, I had major reservations about mailing my original naturalization certificate as well as my name change petition (which was its own nightmare itself in terms of acquiring it) to the SSN office. Unlike you I had no choice but to send them in since I really need to update my driver's license. Fortunately, the process was smooth as I received both of my original documents back after like a week and then my updated SSN card about a week after that. I would say that if you're not changing your name then I would just really wait until things get back to normal and go in person. Hope that helps put you at ease.

Got scheduled for oath on June 16th and like I suspected it'll be held outside the federal plaza. @Hamido did you get the same date as well?

Funny enough, I just got the same notification but still can't see my date yet as well. I figure we'll probably get the dates tomorrow. Let me know when's your date and I guess it'll end up being held at the federal plaza since I had a friend take his oath there this last past Wednesday. Hopefully things die down a bit with the tension this weekend.

A bunch of people in other states are reporting that they've been scheduled for May 20th as well and so it seems like they're starting to send out these notices as of this week. Looks like the Minnesota court is starting to get going as well and so it'll be interesting to see if this oath goes ahead and how it'll be conducted.

Will do, although I would think I won't be scheduled anytime soon seeing as my application was just recently approved after sitting on the shelf for months.

This isn't too surprising since I'm forced to submit documents I've already submitted before in my application and even brought to my interview. I mean it sounds like USCIS just opts to go with the most inefficient way of adjudicating your case. They could have just easily called you for a second interview and sent you a letter with all the stuff they want and have you address any concerns they have. But of course they decided to mail you RFE three different times over the course of months, it's just bonkers really.

The interview was very smooth and cordial and I was even joking with the IO. She didn't really ask much, just conducted the civics portion and just asked a few basic questions and then handed me the 'decision cannot be made' letter. When I asked why she said that she hadn't actually looked at my file and she will review it and then started talking about the oath letter and how long I can expect to receive. Thats why I was surprised to see the RFE status update afterwards. Anyway, I was wondering how long I can expect to receive a decision now that they've received my evidence.
