My husband had is interview Monday, got his Visa Thursday. Crossed the border with his car yesterday with no issues at all. He had all his boxes labeled and they didn’t even want to look. He was able to bring his car across. We are waiting on letter from Volkswagen stating it is USA certified and he can take it with the form the CBP officer gave him to our airport and import it. He didn’t have to prove car was paid off. They didn’t even ask. All went well and the officers were really great and told him Welcome to the USA Sir. Hard to believe we have finished this process. For now. Citizenship in 3 years. Thank you all for your help answering questions and support along the way. So helpful to be able to talk to people that get it and understand all the forms and lingo.

Not necessarily. I recieved mine the next day in Alberta. It depends how fast it's processed and then the speed of Canada post.
My husband's interview was Monday morning. He lives in Winnipeg and received Visa yesterday (Thursday) by 2:00 pm. Via Purolator to his house.

Does his dash cluster display both kms and mi?
His car does display both Km's and miles. So that is also good

You dont need the letter if the car has the appropriate stickers.
Keep in mind your car WILL need tpms!
His vehicle has that. It’s the light that comes on when the pressure is low? So he already has

Does anyone know if you can activate your visa and come across with your car and if it doesn’t meet requirements still come and get the things you need completed within a time frame? My husband and I are 2 hours apart and he will go back to canada as he has parents and children there. Do we have a time period to get it exported?

Can you cross the border to activate visa with your car even if you aren’t importing it at this time? Do you have. A period of time to get the car situation figured out? 6 months or 1 year?

They'll need to see the title to prove ownership of the vehicle. If there's a lien on the title you won't be able to import it.
Bill of sale it states. Which isn’t the same. I’m just trying to understand.

No, you can't unfortunately.
You must own it and if you have a lease, it will not be accepted either.
Generally speaking you won't be able to import a car with a lien because you don't actually own the car. Whomever you pay for the loan actually owns it. You don't officially own your car until you pay off the loan.
This is also to ensure you don't sell the car without paying the entire amount owing of the loan.
We intend to bring our car to the US and we checked with our dealership/financing department, and they informed us that the US customs won't let us import our car if it has a loan on it.
How would they know. They told me they need the stickers that say EPA certified and DOT certified in US

You need to make sure your car his made in North America otherwise you will have taxes on it. You need the car to be fully paid. And you need Volkswagen to send you a compliance letter mentioning that your car comply with the USA norms and regulations.
Really? You can’t owe on it? And still be making payments?

This link from the FAQ has a good summary of what you need. Seems unlikely that you can get everything lined up before tomorrow, since even with the EPA sticker under the hood you will still need a letter from the manufacturer stating that it complies with NHTSA standards.
Their is a Volkswagen dealership in Winnipeg and someone is writing a letter for my husband. I think the sticker may be fine but having letter too just in case

Has anybody looked into driving your car across USA border and bringing with you? My husband is planning on driving his across tomorrow and wondering what specific documents he needs.? I have looked on several websites. His vehicle is a Volkswagen Jetta and has the sticker under the hood that says it is similar to USA made Jettas. Anyone have any experience with this?

No ours still says Issued too.
Hoping we get a tracking number today and that it has already been sent.

@JenTex have you received a tracking number yet for your Visa from your interview on Monday? When I login to CEAC it still says issued. Anxiously awaiting

My wife brought her cell phone and it wasn't a problem. They have a place to lock it up until you leave.
My husband brought his cell phone today and they kicked it up for him.

My husband had his interview this morning. He was approved. The one thing that they asked about was his new passport. They said it wasn’t uploaded but I had uploaded it into CEAC so not sure where I was supposed to upload. He had a color copy though that they took and was a non issue. Said the CO was great and asked him if it was him that put the binder together because it was so well organized. He said nope, my wife. Lol
He was done in 1 hour 15 min. The longest part was waiting to go up to the window for actual interview that only lasted a few minutes. Told him his Visa will arrive within 5-7 days and will be able to track online.

When I did my medical with Medisys on the 16th, they told me I’d have the results delivered at home within 5 business days, that I’d get an email letting me know they’d been shipped. Well, guess what day it is 🙃 and I haven’t heard anything.
I’m VERY happy I didn’t accept the original option that they offered me: medical on the 22nd, with results back on the 29th between 2-4pm, but since I work I would have had to pick them up on my way to the interview. The lady kept promising the results date is guaranteed and I was like “no thank you” lol.
They used to be super fast and reliable but not so much anymore.
My husband had his medical with them on the 16th and they called him today to come and pick up. His interview is Monday

Does anyone on here know how long the Green Card is taking to arrive after entering US? Will the social security card come around that time or do we have to take green card to ss office in order to get?
