For reference of some people who want to do the normal or routine passport processing application, this is how my application went through:

Applied in one of the USPS in Las Vegas

applied June 3, 2021 Routine Processing

Document Control Number Starts with 68 (New Hampshire)

    Check cashed June 29, 2021

Status “In process” on June 30, 2021

Status “Approved” on August 12, 2021

Status “Shipped” on August 13, 2021

Received Passport Book on August 16, 2021 (10.5 Weeks)

“Patience is a Virtue”. Don’t worry too much with passport processing application IF we don’t have out of the country travel soon. We can’t even travel abroad the way we used to be, there are 50 states to visit, enjoy and explore. Good Luck Everyone!!!

50 States from the size of 50 countries.

    Using a black Pen

Did you sign your full name or your regular signature? I don't usually sign my name, I do a funny drawing 🤭 (which I did next to my picture on my certificate during the interview).

But I hear that I can't draw the same on the certificate, I have to put my name instead? I haven't  done anything yet.

please I urgently need advice on what necessary steps or actions to take regarding my Mother's situation. About 6  months ago I was lucky to secure an interview appointment date for the month of August for my mother at the American embassy in Abuja after painfully searching , night and days. we finally got an interview date in Abuja because Lagos embassy has no date until 2023. But 5 days ago my mother got an email from the embassy help desk that her interview was canceled , and requested her to re-schedule , the earlier date again for Abuja is November 2022 while the earliest  for Lagos is october 2023. I just felt canceling her appointment  is very unfair and unjust,  especially for a 73 year old woman coming to see her only daughter and grand daughter who was born during the COVID19 lock down.

please send the email received from the US Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, and all suggestions are welcomed. Some friends suggested writing the Department of state, the Ambassador, Ned price (spokesperson of the  state depart), etc.... I need help asap.

Your regular B appointment at the US Embassy Abuja  has been cancelled.
The Embassy and Consulate General continue to prioritize travelers with urgent travel needs, although regular visa appointments are made available as the local conditions allow.  In response to ongoing pandemic-related service disruptions, the Department of State announced the extension of Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee validity until September 30, 2022 for individuals who paid an MRV fee, but were unable to schedule and/or attend an interview during the suspension of services.  If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please follow the guidance provided at https://ustraveldocs.com/ng/ ng-niv-expeditedappointment. asp  to request an emergency appointment.

    Hi,

I'm sincerely sorry for your mom. I had the same case with my mom. I'll send you a private message.

Hi, we had our IR-5 approved by NVC in June 2020.

We have just received letters from NVC advising us of our interview date which is in June and our medicals are booked beforehand. Have a slight issue getting an updated Police Certificate though (the previous one had expired)..and had to pay an extra £40 each to get them expedited or they would not arrive in time for medical!

The Embassy seem to be getting through the applications quite quickly now, especially since the tier system was introduced.

I'm sure you will get an email soon. :)

    Hi ,

Went did you apply? I'm starting an application for my mother. I'm just wondering how long it takes to be approved.

    Thank you

  5. For those Who don't want to give their Original Naturalization Certificate at the post office, here is the information I found regarding the Enhanced Driver's license for WA residents:

***"The enhanced driver license (EDL) or enhanced ID card (EID) confirms your identity and U.S. citizenship. It's acceptable for re-entry into the U.S. from Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean through a land or sea border crossing. The EDL/EID is also an acceptable REAL ID document to use for air travel within the United States."***

***You can upgrade your driver's license to an enhanced driver's license for $4 per year for the remaining time on your driver's license.

    • Allow 2 weeks to receive your permanent EDL/EID in the mail. You'll get a temporary EDL the same day before you leave the licensing office, but you can't use it at border crossings.***

    https://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/edlget.html

Now the question is: did someone ever use a WA enhanced driver's license to apply for a US passport? We are going to try with my husband who is about to renew his passport. He just needs to walkin anyday. I'll update if anyone is interested.

    Update about interview:

    Filled: 01/26/2020

    Bio: 02/18/2020

    interview Notice: 06/07/2021

    Interview Date: 07/22/2021

Got in at 6:45 for a 7 am interview. I was called a little after 7 to get into the office with an ipad on the desk and officer is online. She was very super nice. The officer was not from Seattle office, I do not recall where she is located, but she said she is not in Seattle. She asked me if I want to proceed without my attorney, and I said yes since he changed his mind and did not show up. Went through history question and passed after 7 questions, so one was wrong. Then asked me to read "What we pay to the government", I said we pay taxes. She said no, I am asking you to read the question lol. I was still in the questioning mode. :) The she asked me to write the answer. We reviewed the application with very basic information like name, date of birth, address, SSN, etc. She asked me if I travelled since I filed the application and answer was No. Lots of corrections happened in the application as I was answering lol. Basically, I provided some wrong dates in the application and she corrected them with the name change as well. Then I have to sign the corrections. Then we went through the Yes, No questions and there was some missing answers and some she wanted me to change due to my miss understanding (Do not know what did the attorney I hired do lol)

After this, she recommended me for approval. and I have to sign a document that nothing happened since my approval to the ceremony as she said she will schedule on the same day. She pressed multiple times that I am lucky to be in Seattle as applicants in her local office have to wait 1-2 months to get scheduled for the oath. I was in fact happy that this is going to be over. She asked me to take everything with me and only leave my GC.

Overall, this was about an hour since I entered the building to the time. Another officer escorted me out and and told me my oath ceremony will be at 9:30. I was given the option to go out and come back at 9 if I want, or if I want to stay. I did not have a letter of my oath date,  but she said they sometime do not print it when it's a virtual interview. I did go out for a bit and when I came back I told them that I have an oath setup, but do not have a letter and my interview was today as she recommended. When I came back, they asked to see my original interview letter since I did not have an oath letter. They let me in. When it was 9:30, I was still not called for an oath. Logged in to my account to find the letter that say it's setup to be at 5 pm. I thought this is probably standard that means by 5 pm. I waited few more, and by 9:45 the same officer who escorted me out came and called few names and we are taken down to the oath room. We were only less than 10 people. We took the oath and then handed the certificates. I was out by 10 am, so overall was about 3 hours and 15 minutes door to door.

Important: I heard an officer in the waiting area telling people individually that they have to sign the certificate with a black pen. And that, if you sign it with any other color, it's considered void. Be careful and only use black pen. Take copies and also review the information very carefully. If you have to fix anything after leaving the building, it code $550. We were not told this info in our oath.

    Congratulations my friend 🙏😊.

I guess your next step is the passport, do you have to send the original of your certificate? Or is it possible to send the enhanced driver's license?

If I understand enhanced driver's license = passport card, right? I wish I didn't have to send my Certificate, the officer told me last time that the uscis don't issues certified copies.

Mine was not the same day, the system was down the day of my interview. So they added me to the queue which took 3 weeks to schedule and got an appointment for the end of the month. Again, that was my luck. Just sharing it so you are prepared and not scared.

I'm glad you finally received an appointment. I understand how it could be frustrating to be delayed, especially if you have plans.

Pleased, share your experience if you don't mind. My Oath will be at the beginning of August. I'd be happy to know how it works.

    Thank you 🙏

Congratulations! Was you it you opting out from same day ceremony? Or you was not given the option? Now it's getting scary if they do not do same day ceremony anymore.

Don't worry, you'll get the same day Oath if that's what you want. They ask you if you want it right after your interview .

My Oath was scheduled the same day after my interview and I downloaded and printed my appointment letter the same day at home. I received my physical letter last Monday. I wasn't put in the queue. Now, I'm just waiting for it. It's in the afternoon and my family will be there, exactly what I wanted.

Good luck to you my friend and keep us posted!

I opt for a different day. I saw people getting in and out with American flags and Envelopes with certificate. They were being asked to verify their information on the certificate. I guess they took the Allegiance before waiting back for their certificate in the waiting room. Some of them might just had appointment for the Oath of Allegiance only like it will be for me.

  10. Hi guys,

Just to let you know I had my Interview in Tukwila couple days ago this week. Everything went very well, the lady was really nice.

She took my Resident card, old work permit card and expired passport.

She started with checking my identity and with the test. I got all my first 6 questions, so she stopped the test. My interview was early in the morning and I didn't sleep enough the night before, so I don't remember the test questions I was being asked (😅). But I do remember she went over our last 2 years tax returns (2020 and 2019) and thanks God I had 5 years of tax  returns ready. I included the Record of Account pages so she could see our balance. She wanted to make sure we don't owe taxes, so the Record of Account was perfect. She aslo asked to see our leases (marriage based), our employment status and she asked If I had traveled recently or in the past (I haven't).

She didn't ask anything else besides everything I mentioned above. Then she went over the yes/no questions and the Allegiance questions.

The application was approved with congratulations!

I didn't opt for same day oath, I wanted to have my husband and kids there with me for that ceremony, since the restrictions have been relaxed. I saw people with their family members and it felt like things are slowly getting back to normal.

My oat ceremony was scheduled the same day for mid August, the letter has been mailed too.

Good luck. I'll update on my oath ceremony for those who want to have an idea. I saw  some people getting out of offices, waiting back in the waiting area and being called to grab envelopes.  I'm not sure if that what the oath looks like (not ceremonial at all)! But anyway, I'll update if things get back to  normal in August.

My interview is July 22nd and applied Jan, 25th. Your timeline is great, much shorter than mine 🤣. That's typical for males as we noticed in this forum lol.

Im personally relieved that it's in Tukwila, 10 min from home. I wasn't sure how to organized the Portland trip if that was the case.

Is your in Tukwila too? Im wondering if the location explains the timeline

My case status switched to "As of June 7, 2021, we are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization Our records show nothing is outstanding at this time. We will let you know if we need anything from you."

When I go to interview section, I see case history as:

June 7, 2021 Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS
June 7, 2021 We scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.

Is this happening for everyone? Or did they change their mind? I am worried as some people went to USCIS and they were told their interview was cancelled. I still have the interview letter in the documents tab. @Lilmama is this your case? Also, did you find out when is your interview?

    Hi,

I just have the 'we scheduled an interview...'. I was finally able to see my interview letter this morning. My appointment is on July 14 at Tukwila location. Im grateful because I was praying to not go in Portland.

Finally interview scheduled! 3 weeks later than expected in the excel sheet. Even 5 weeks later than my own expectation. All interviews have 1 months notice as we have seen here, my notice is 6 weeks lol. I am being delayed to the most possible, screwed up all my travel plans as passport will take another 6 weeks at least and school will start by the time 🤣, but at least I am now reliefed with a date on July 22nd.

Did you see your interview date online? Or waited for the mail? If online, where do you see it and how long does is take to appear?

    🙏

  14. My interview was scheduled. I didn't receive any message or notification as I was expected. I just randomly found out by logging in my account after I read about @MGMA post 😁. It was updated  today at 7:51pm.

It's funny because it shows that my approx completion is 13 months when it was 5 months last week. I filed on February 29 2020.

Have you guys been getting your interview letter online? (I know they said I'll receive intrustuctions via mail). But can you see it somewhere online?

    Thanks you.

Sorry to hear your husband is having health issues. If you are only interviewing for N-400, you don’t need to bring him with you. If you also have a pending I-751, you should bring your husband (even if you didn’t get a notice of a combo interview, as it’s possible that you could get a combo interview on the spot).

And thank you for taking time to respond me 🙏

No I don't have pending i751. It's been approved 1 year ago. We only have the N400 to finish. So I can just show up myself? I wasn't sure because my N400 is marriage rule based. I thought spouses must always be present at every interview.
