I’m in the same boat as most of you here - applied for my AOS and had my biometrics appointment in March (this got canceled).

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but did we not already submit Biometrics when we applied for our visa? I’m here on an L1 and I could swear they took my fingerprints at the consulate. Are the EAD biometrics different?

My L1 is expiring in October so this delay is really messing everything up!

    hope you all stay safe!

Yes, apparently they are a different type of biometrics. Nothing to do but wait for an ASC to open on June 4.

    Hello all,

has anyone ever expedited their EAD without biometrics on file and still got approved? I am current a nurse working with my F1-OPT which expires in June. I filed for I-485,I-765 and I-131 on 2/28/2020. I got a  mail for biometrics for 3/25/2020 which I couldn’t get done since they were closed. I went ahead and asked for my ead to be expedited because from the look of things, I can’t just sit and wait for them to reopen and give me a new biometrics appointment. My current ead would have expired by then. Anyone in this same situation?

From what I understand you need to have completed your biometrics to expedite. Sorry, hopefully the ACS open soon.

I'm sorry to hear that. I think I saw from someone else in this forum that you're allowed to resubmit an expedite request after a certain amount of days. I think the person was denied expedite the first time, resubmitted, and was approved the second time. Maybe you could give that a try? I know some people go through their congressman so maybe resubmitting through their office would be another option.

Yep, I guess I will reach out to our congressperson.

I'm sorry if I have missed this questions / answer - this is a very fast moving discussion. DO we know when the EO will be made public? I just want to keep away from media until I can see the answer as the news outlets seem to be adding their own take on the situation but I just want the fact, as I am sure we all do.

    Matt

    Hasn't been announced yet.

(p.s. hey, I am also from the UK)

I have the same updates. Called last Friday, got the email Monday morning and the updates are also from Monday. Faxed everything Tuesday evening. No update about that they received my stuff.

The updates just mean that somebody opened the case, worked on it and completed their part of work on it.

Maybe you two will get a letter instead of an email. Happened before to others too.

Thank you. Good to know :)

Yeah it is. I had this happen to me and was not sure. It means that your expedite is being considered. I waited 5 days with no response, as I was expecting request for evidence by fax. I called them up and all they said it was still being considered. hang in there! I am too

Thank you for the insight.  I am very confused how they can make a decision without supporting evidence but let's see. Let me know how yours turns out, positive or otherwise!
