Hi all- looks like I am joining the club to get an rfie in the mail. I would appreciate anyone that can shed some light on their rfie they received. I don’t think it’s going to be the I-944 as I sent it with my initial application and I have sent the long form birth certificates so I am curious if it’s certain things in the I-944 packet that they requested an rfie for

Probably the medical examination forms. They aren't required to be sent in at the time, just that you will have to have a medical done and take the results with you to the interview. Pretty standard to get an RFIE for this in basically every application.

My USPS informed delivery shows a mail coming soon from DHS-NBC, my friend says it’s the biometrics notice because that’s exactly how hers looked (weird) lol... I’ll update tomorrow if it actually is cause I’d be happy considering nobody here has gotten theirs so far, so it would be a good sign for all of us. 😇 (filed Aug 17. Delvrd Aug 19. Lives in NYC. AOS)

Awesome! Hoping its the Biometrics for you! Please let us know.

The only other thing she has you listed is savings to support herself. Yep she's from canada

She's coming to the US from Canada. No return flight booked because we aren't sure if she's going to come back earlier or not.

Book a return ticket with flexible policy, then change the return date as needed once she is in the USA.

Thanks for the encouragement. *Pretty* different timeline though...our I-130 was approved in Oct 2019. We were DQ at NVC and waiting for a consular interview to be scheduled when we decided to apply for AOS

    Good luck all the same.

Almost exact same timeline here. DQ'd, then decided to adjust status and that was received on Canada Day (July 1 2020).

It seems you can't enter the country on a visitors visa and apply for an AOS. I don't know if this situation would be an exemption for that sorry.

That is the thread I was referencing with information that suggests it may be possible. Talking with an attorney tomorrow.

You can just file for an aos? Interesting.

Well that's what I am in the process of researching. There is another post out there with a similar situation, and people have mentioned that it could be an option.

What process are you using an aos with? Sorry I'm confused how that would be quicker than waiting for interview.

Basically got kind of stuck here in USA with COVID-19. So file for AOS. Might not be quicker in the long run, but allows me to wait it out with my spouse. No idea when Montreal consulate will open and how long to clear the backlog is my concern.

  8. Getting all the documents together for NVC now... beginning to question if we should just look to do an AOS with this whole COVID-19 shutdown though... beginning to wonder what will be more efficient and right for us at this point.

Hi guys, I am a Canadian and have been in America for the last two months quarantining with my husband. In the beginning, I did not think this would continue this long and was expecting to be back to work in Canada by now. and the border opened up again. However, nothing seems to have changed. The land borders are still closed. I am thinking of going back to Canada now, but I am worried of not being able to re-enter USA. I would love to stay, but have counted up my past visits and it totals ~2.5 months in the last calendar year, not counting this 2 month stay so I am at 4.5 months now. I am getting very worried staying any longer would count against me during the NVC processing of our I-130 petition. I did enter using my Nexus so they do have my entry date in their system through the land border. Am I overthinking this increasingly?

Exact same situation here. Like I could have written this post myself. Currently wondering what we should do. Its frustrating because we are at the NVC stage and feel so close, but maybe AOS is the way to go now and just wait for travel and work permits? Curious to know that you end up doing!

yes so i have heard a lot of us June filers have been transferred i have also heard some from February and March as well  i have been doing my research through this website and Facebook groups and i found some saying that the process should be quicker some are saying to go off the USCIS processing times the processing times on this website say they are processing June but i figured we can just keep each other informed on updates ☺️

We received a transfer notice yesterday (not sure where yet, just got the online notification) and we were in Nebraska. Our NOA1 date was late March of 2019. Don't know yet if we went to Vermont or not, but really hoping we hear something soon.
