Did the (step1) update email thing for NVC. they said to just wait till they get my approved petition lol... 😅 i thought i was just updating them but o well. 2weeks in, waiting patiently 🙏🏻😇

Will wait for the paper mail. Does this tell me anything? like no RFE? or they just acknowledge my case in general?

An approval means just that, you are approved without an RFE as they never asked for one prior to approving your case. Your approved! BTW your approved! Did I happen to say your APPROVED?
 
Congratulations. Your reading too much into this. You got your YES or NO answer to your application now onto the NVC for case number. 
 
USCIS is notorious about not sending an email notification even with a G-1145. Most don't receive an email but it's not typical not to receive a NOA1 or NOA2 by snail mail so keep an eye out for those. BTW you do not need a the NOA's for any part of any process moving forward so don't go crazy trying to figure out why you didn't receive one.
