I have only seen instances of administrative processing thrice for lagos embassy:

    1. Normal admin processing btw interview and when visa was picked up. Visa issue date was same as interview date.

    2. My brother was asked to submit his divorce verification document so his case went into admin processing. He did so and 6 months after, he was called for a 2nd interview. Meanwhile they investigated him by visiting his house unanounced and contacted some of his friends. His visa issue date was the date of his 2nd interview eventhough he picked his visa days after.

    3. My sister was told to go and add her kids to her case so her case went into admin processing. She did everything as instructed and they called her 6 months after for a 2nd interview with her children. Her visa issue date was the 2nd interview date.

All things being equal, as far as i know about lagos o, your visa issue date is the same as the date of the successful interview.

If i am in your shoes, i will not be worried. This visa ban does not affect your case except there are other reasons you are worried. All the best!

Thank You! Well I'm just nerveous for interview at this point in general I feel. But we have all our documentations ect ready. So Praying God pushes us through. Thank you for your information it helped greatly!

Yes madam. You don't have any problem with regards to the visa ban.

Wow!. So even if it goes into some administrative processing? If after the administrative processing he is approved it will still be issued on Visa as the 10th? Sorry I'm just clarifying here. This is such great news for us

And while it makes me so very happy my heart is breaking for people after the 22nd...its simply not fair for everyone and I hate that 😭

Lagos very early in the morning like 430am to 5am to get his medicals done.

This is where my husband got his done. He arrived no later than 4 am....they take 24 patients a day first come first serve. When he arrived at 4 am he was already number 19! DONT BE LATE

Contact the embassy. I strongly suggest those with feb 22 date contact the embassy for interview before 22. From my personal experience with lagos embassy(myself, my son and my siblings and my brother inlaw all passed through this process btw 2008 and 2019 and i helped each one of us through it all), issue date on visa is the date of interview even if you receive ut passport back days after the interview. I dont know if that has changed but that is my experience until december last year when my brother in law got his visa.

I am praying for those of us who already got DQ and those still in the line. I pray God intervenes in this situation. It's just so heartbreaking.

I'm am soooo HAPPY TO HEAR THIS!! my husbands interview is February 10th at Lagos Embassy. And our immigration laywer said the same thing that the issue date on the visas there are always the date of interview. But I was getting sooo many conflicting reports from people here saying that the issue date is whenever they actually print the visa and have it ready for you to pick up. Praise God! So if everything goes well at his interview and he is approved then the issue date on the visa will be the 10th if February?!

You can marry anywhere to be recognized by the US.

    Some people hold multiple passports.

So basically are you saying he would have to become a permanent residence let's say in Ghana? Then we would have to get married again in Ghana? And then apply all over again but it would then be through the Ghana embassy? I'm confused exactly how this would work

Anyways there is hope, Nigerian Government has created a committee to address the security and information sharing requested by Trump, hopeful he will have a change of minds and let lovers live where they choose.

Really?! Chai!! I'm slightly shocked. They have the capability to do so I believe...its if they will actually get it together and will do it. I pray so for their citizens sake. Let them get something right for their country.

My husband's interview is on Feb 20th, I am so worried that I haven't slept since Friday night.

Keep the faith. It's all we can do. God will provide the way. Honestly look at it like this. At least your interview is before the it actually takes effect. The complete details of everything are still going to have to be sorted out. There just isnt enough information or direction yet for those of us who are right on that cusp of this change. Keep your head up. I found this off travel ceac site for the Original country ban. Continue as normal....focus on having a good interview...then go from there

Thank you all for your wonderful contributions, they were very enlightening and very helpful. It help to douse down tension especially for those of us who don’t have our interviews dates yet and visas in hand.
I pray everything goes on smoothly in the right direction for everyone of us who falls within the purview of this ban.

Yes this has been very helpful. Thank you all. My prayers are with all of you.

If approved, you should get your passport with the visa in it within 5 business day...  However I will book a flight that departs and arrive the US before the 22nd of February to avoid Trump standing at the airport himself and waiting for Nigerians.

Lol MAAAAN!!!! I PRAY NOT!!! Its going to be a close fit. We need a perfect interview with no delays or AP for this to work. But we believe in a powerful almighty God and we are standing firm in His word! No matter how we feel or how the situation looks. We are standing on Gods promises to take care of us and work it for His good. No matter what. He is our God

As long as the visa is issued prior to

    You should be fine.

My husband is staying sooo positive. He keeps saying this will not affect him. We have a very simple case. We were recently pregnant and miscarried I've visited 3 times he has no criminal background at all. Works for the government university. I Pray it is smoothe and visa is issued quick.

The question is about the date of the visa.

My wife’s k-1 has an issue date that is two days after the interview.  The visa and passport were not available for pickup until about ten working days later.

This is what my laywer was talking about. That it has to do with the issue date. Not the actual day he picks it up in his hand. So how do you know what your issue date is? Do they tell you at interview?

I would not worry too much. If every goes well his visa will be issued within three business days. My brother had Interview Jan 21 (Tuesday) and got back his passport with visa on Friday. Just make sure he is well prepared so nothing goes wrong.

Also my friend had interview same Jan 21. He was verbally told he is being approved but his visa cannot be issued because he needs to complete Sputum Culture which will take 10 weeks. I worry for him because his visa was not issued yet despite being told he has been approved.

Your brother from Nigeria? I'm just looking at some people's process from Nigeria and it's the dang administrative processes they go into that can take two or three days. I've seen some people have to wait a month before they get issued one. But typically it's supposed to be 7 to day. I'd love for it to be two or three! All I can do is pray and ask the Lord for favor. I will be with him at interview. 3rd trip over. This is just so shocking. I hope it gets held up in court and doesnt go into affect right away

  13. So my husband's interview date is February 10th..our immigration laywer told us that in Nigerian they already do the biometrics ect the day of interview. He said that if everything goes smoothly at his interview and that if he is told he is being aproved that day(even if he does not have visa in hand by February 22nd) that means that he should be exempt from this...does anyone else know or have an opinion on this? His interview being so close. They say 7 to ten buisness days typically for the visa to actual be issued out for him to pick up.

Question #1 what happens to all pending family applications?

answer no visa. no entry, they will not issue a visa.

The Proclamation applies to intending immigrants abroad who have not yet received an immigrant visa. Intending immigrants abroad who have a valid visa, but have not yet entered the United States, may still do so—so long as they meet all other conditions of admissibility under the Immigration and Nationality Act.

What does this mean? He has interview on the 10th??? They will deny him?
