Just had our interview!! We were not officially approved on the spot, though I think our officer wanted to... We had a hold from December that seemed to be perplexing him as it wasn't from the office. He tried for like 20 minutes to get in contact with the person who put the hold on to tell them to take it off but finally he just told us as soon as he gets an email back he will make the decision. He then proceeded to talk to us about removal of conditions saying "two years from today" your conditions are to be removed and "three years from today" you can go for citizenship and the like which leads me to believe... We will hopefully have an approval by the end of the day 😅
Also, fun story... We talked about our love of wrestling being what got us together, and at the end of the interview before he let us go... He played BURN IT DOWN!!!! on his phone (Seth Rollins wrestling them) 🤣🤣🤣

I had my interview today and everything went great. The officer told us she is going to approve the case, but it will take a while because she needs to put all the stuff in the system.
I'm a little worried because I forgot to give here the 2020 tax return from our joint sponsor and our case status change to "Interview was completed and my case must be reviewed". Everyone seems to get the new card status immediately and now I'm scared that it will take forever or they are going to send an rfe!
I noticed you also interviewed in Charlotte... would you mind telling me what questions they asked that you can remember?

Still no SS card. Was told to call back if we do not get it by May 28 and they will send a replacement out.
On the bright side, our interview is scheduled! June 29 at 12:10pm. Now we gotta get the medical... Ugh.
On the sucky side, also having to go to my divorce lawyer as turns out there was a backlog and the ex husband filed for alimony about 2 weeks before our divorce was final, over a year and a half ago... Covid sucks.

Got EAD card nearly a month ago and still no social security card. My husband called before we even got the EAD card and they confirmed a number had been generated and told him it was supposed to be 7 days but would likely be closer to 2-3 weeks. We are in week 4 now and I just want to file taxes and he just wants to start work! Such a mess. 😕
It doesn't look like I'll owe taxes, so it doesn't really matter if I miss the tax deadline right?

I have to admit I'm pretty happy he was offered a really good job so quickly! I guess I shouldn't complain
Thankfully, his employer will just wait until he gets his SSN, it's just an inconvenience with reporting, the most important thing was having the work authorization.
Very true. My husband was a wrestling promoter back in the UK so I doubt he will be doing the same kind of work here, haha. So he isnt even sure what he wants to do. Hes thinking about trying to go to school.

Very unfortunate but that is usually the case. Are you also at Charlotte as your field office?

We called the local SS office today and they told us that a number hasn't been requested for him and it would take 30 days (probably longer). I would've preferred to hear 7 days instead! ugh...my husband started working on the day he got the approval and of course the company needs a SSN for payroll reporting requirements. Well, I guess we just have to play the waiting game for another month!
Man I wish my husband had a job lined up that fast! He's about to start the application processes when he gets his SSN

Not much of an update but through EMMA, I just learned that my I-485 case is finally in the local field office (no update on appointment though).
It’s just a matter of how quick (or rather how slow) the Charlotte, NC office is now...I feel like they have not been quick for me at all lol biometrics took a long time to be scheduled and no interview scheduled yet! late august 2020 priority date

Good news! I applied for an expedited work authorization for my husband April 15th, they requested additional documents on April 16th, I sent on April 17th and the request to expedite was approved that same evening! On April 22nd received notice of EAD approval. Finally real movement. So does anyone have an idea on how long will it take for the SS card to be sent?
My husband got his EAD card (not combo unfortunately and no idea why) on 4/16. He called our local SS office the day before and they confirmed a number had been generated and they said they wished they could promise it within 7 days like normal but that we would likely be looking at 2 weeks. So we are hoping we get it by Friday, I'd really like to file taxes hahaha

got my EAD and AP card yesterday, how long to get a SSN, i did apply for it in my i765, but last December the health insurance plan with my wife the been asking for my ssn, so i did apply for a nonauthorized worker SSN in Feb 2, still didn't get it yet, anybody been in the same situation ?
My hubby got EAD last Friday (though unfortunately it wasn't the combo card, I guess his advance parole wasn't approved?), he called social security local office and they confirmed a SSN had been generated and was in the way. Maybe try calling your local ss office

Honestly, that's what I'm thinking as well at this point. I'd rather get the EAD first so that I can start working but I have a feeling I'll have my interview first. Ugh...........
Funnily enough, hubby's EAD just changed to "card is being produced"! Hoping you have the same luck. Still no interview scheduled.

My 485 updated to "ready to be scheduled for interview" today. I know that it can still take quite a while to actually receive an interview date but I'm just glad that I'm finally getting movement now after biometrics!
My hubby's also updated to this yesterday! I'm betting husband is going to get GC (God willing) before work authorization 🙄

How long did it take for your online status to update to "biometrics have been taken"?
I got mine done yesterday and my I-765 updated to "
Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS"
so I guess that's good? Nothing on the 485 though.
Mine has said this for a month 😭

Any other August filers waiting on a 693 Deficiency notice and/or your online 485 status to update to "Interview ready to schedule" after biometrics?
Also, has anyone received random texts from USCIS with no status update? We received 3 separate "Your case has been updated" text messages at the beginning of the month, but there were no changes to the status online (Case still shows "Fingerprints have been applied" since 2/10). I assume it was a glitch, but concerned as our mail constantly gets mis-delivered to neighbors.
Yep, we have RFE received status so waiting (im)patiently for the 693 deficiency and/or ready to schedule for interview. Dragging feet on just going ahead and doing the medical because the cost is ridiculous. 🙄 Our insurance is switching on May 1 so if it takes that long at least we can go ahead and get the vaccine he still needs covered by insurance. And the TB test. And anything else possible to lower the cost of the medical. Lol

Guys, based on your experiences, how long will take to USCIS update the case to "RFE received"?
My RFE was delivered yesterday, so just wonder when I should see some change.
Thanks
Mine changed within a couple days

I'm in the same boat. I'm relying on the tax extension til October 15th to see me through the wait. We only applied mid December.
Wait there's a tax extension this year??

Nope! Mine did not tell me and scheduled me to talk to a Tier 2. Did a Tier 1 tell you when yours was scheduled?
It was the only person I chatted with, I didn't know there was Tiers

Lol wow! That’s insane! 10 more days since when? Also does Emma tell you when it is scheduled for?
Since yesterday lol but yes if you put speak to live agent, then click case status and put in your receipt number and a-number and answer the agents questions they will finally tell you when you're scheduled haha

When was your biometrics dated that it was sent out? I feel like mine is lost in the mail!
Mine was mailed the same day as yours and I still don't have it. I used Emma to find out an appt had been scheduled. I think it's just taking a while, they told me give it 10 more days!

I had trouble to sign up via online so I ended up calling Kaiser Permanente and explained my situation. It took like an hour on the phone but it worked. I did this before the enrollment period for 2021 ended (in decenber 15th) so not sure how this works now.
We signed up during open enrollment and have a health plan but they want proof of immigration status to keep said health plan. I uploaded the I-797 and they havent said anything yet 😕
