  1. Hi everyone

I will have a combo interview next week. Appreciate if anyone can give me feedback about my documents. Also, I have two more

    questions

So my supporting documents (beside the required ones)

    -House deeds from county website

    -House mortgage from county website

-Some apartment leases before buying house

    -Joint bank account statements

    -Joint stock investment

-Tax transcript (2020 to 2022) joint filing

    -Health insurance, IRA showing beneficiaries

    -Driving licenses showing same addresses

    -Vaccine cards

-Pictures with family and friends and our cats (not many as we don't like photos lol)

    -Flight tickets

    My questions are

    1. I included a joint car title when submitting i751 in 2021. Now we moved to a new state. My husband had to get a new plate as he had an emergency trip. I was not there so the new title is only in his name. It would be so expensive to add my name (equivalent to get a new plate) so we just left it there. Would it be a trouble for us?

    2. Due to many reasons, we didn't have a wedding just a civil one. Would the officer care?

    3. Do we need to get W2?

    Thanks a lot everyone!!

    Nearly Done

    I-751

    1) applied jan 25, 2022

    2) Biometrics- march 7, 2022

    3) No update after biometrics

    5) I 751 was in MSC(NBC) since the beginning . I-751 never got transferred after applying N400 on Jan 25, 2023. May be because my I-751 was already at NBC(its just my thinking)

    N-400

    1) Applied jan 25, 2023

    2) biometrics-  scheduled feb 16 but did earlier by walking in westerville Ohio around feb 10, 2023.

    3) Case status changed to "being actively reviewed on the same day".

    4) March 28, 2023 scheduled for N400 interview on may, 17, 2023

    5) I see no indication of combo interview on the notice. But as we all are doing the same thing, I will also go along with my spouse.

**** Got call from columbus field office on saturday that they got some appointment issues and that they had overbooked and if I could come on 15th instead of 17th may. I agreed(happily). Again, they did not mention if it would be combo. Today, I went with my spouse. After security check, I checked in with a lady.  After few minutes, Officer walked over to me in the waiting area and asked me to follow her. She(officer) was very nice. She asked me " were u sitting with ur wife in the waiting area". I replied "yes". She said "glad I saw her". I asked her if she wanted her with me. She replied "no need". Started test..reading, writing and then civics. Passed. Confirmed basic info like my full name, spouse full name, dob, child(boy or girl). Page given that says N400 recommended for approval. Then she opened my I-751 file, repeat same questions basic stuff like names, dob, address. Approved it and informed me that I would not be receiving the physical green card as N400 was approved. Came home, checked statuses of i-751 and N400. I-751 still stuck on fingerprints taken(since march 2022). N400 status got two updates(photo attached). Never asked for a single evidence that I took with me for n400 or i751

Thank you :) Good luck to all:)

Congrats!!! Based on your experience, what documents did you bring on the day? Did you have certified copies? Did you bring any portrait photos? Thanks a lot!

I passed my N400 interview today but a decision could not be made because my I-751 which I filed September 2021 is still pending. Anyone else have this happen and if so how long did it take?

sorry, I don't have a solution for this. Just want to send my good luck to you!! I heard the worse is you need to contact your congressman. The best to you!!

    It wouldn't hurt I guess.

Yes, you could have uploaded this into evidence section along with a letter asking for a combo interview due to pending I-751. It also doesn't always guarantee USCIS will honor it.

hi OldUser,  thanks for the advice.. I uploaded the request letter to the portal. I also checked with an Emma live agent. Well, not a nice one but she told me my I-751 is at NBC now. Does that it will be on the way to the FO for my N-400 interview? Hope it will reach there before the day? Thanks!!

Just updating following my husband's N-400 interview (Montgomery, AL Field Office).

The appointment was at 9:30AM, and we went in at 9:15AM. I was not allowed to go inside. He was called back at 9:35AM and was finished at 9:55AM.

The civics questions that he was asked:

    • Who is the current president?
    • What is the political party of the president now?
    • Why does the flag have 50 stars?
    • In what month do we vote for president?
    • Name one war fought by the US in the 1900s.
    • What does the constitution do?

He was not asked anything at all about the pending I-751, and other than confirming that we are still married, there were no questions pertaining to our relationship. She did not look at or ask for any documents, except the green card. After going through all the usual questions in the N-400, he was approved and immediately scheduled for the oath at 11:30AM today. I wasn't allowed to go inside for that either, but was able to watch through large windows into the room. The oath was finished in 15 minutes, he got his naturalization certificate, and left the office a U.S. Citizen!!!

Case status for I-751 now says "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed" (which I am just ignoring, lol) and N-400 case status says "Certificate Of Naturalization Was Issued"

Very very happy to be done with this huge milestone and finished with USCIS!

Congratsss! I have a question about I-751. Before your interview, did you know if they would do a combo or not? Did you know if your I-751 was already  in the FO? I have my interview in a month and I really hope to avoid the I-751 pending nightmare. Thanks!

Wait I've never heard about asking for a combo interview! That's interesting! Sorry for my ignorance, is there a template for that letter? Thanks!

  7. Mod please delete if wrong sub. I just want to ask Jan filers with pending I-751 about the case transfer. I finally got scheduled for N-400 interview in June. My field office is Columbus OH. However, there has been no update on my I-751. Only case received on the website but I received receipt and biometric waiver. Although I will prepare for the combo interview, should I call USCIS asking if my i-751 has been transferred? I really don't want to be in the nightmare situation: pass N-400 but have to wait for I-751

     Thanks!

Exactly. The feedback I got yesterday was someone was denied in Qatar airport. It was a connecting flight. Now the person was ordered to go back to his home country in Vietnam.

Some people visit too often and even stayed too long in one trip (usually >6mths) so they may destroy their residency tie to the US. I guess this is the case for this guy. Doha is a big hub; immigration officers should know.

I really surprised when I called Amsterdam Embassy in Washington D.C. and their answer was  No extension letter can be considered. Expired card is not valid , will send her back ! and i challenged her with alot of questions and why the US immigration extension letter wouldn’t be considered valid since its extending the validity of the expiry date on the card ?! Embassy employee insisted they won’t consider the extension letter !

Can you clarify? Did you mean Netherlands embassy?

  11. Hi Everyone,

I hope you guys are doing fine beside waiting for the new green cards. For some personal reason, I need to fly back home for around 20 days in Dec. My questions were probably asked elsewhere but I would love to hear confirmations again from everyone for peace of mind:

1/I have not had the 10-year card yet. Can I still come back with my expired GC and extension letter?

2/If I don't apply for N-400 before I go,  when earliest can I apply in the case I will be out the US for 20 days? My sister argues with me if I leave without a pending N-400, I have to add 18 months before I can again. Is it true?

    Thanks!

I just sent my package today (09/15) by UPS. I hope everything is good and the waiting game will not be too bad.

Gosh, UPS is expensive. Wish all of us the best of luck!

UPS delivered my package today! I am like counting every second to get the extension letter!!!

How long did y'all have to wait before having your case numbers and then the extension letter? Thanks all!

I've never had problems with paying by credit card (and having a pending charge from USCIS on my card right now) from the I-129F through AOS and now ROC.

You know right away when they charge your card, you can get rewards from it, it's more secure than a check, and you can't accidentally address a credit card to the wrong person because you're just using their form.

Hi there thanks a lot! If you don't mind which card did you use? We have only visa or master card

  14. Hi there - I guess I may ask a dumb question but I would rather hear so than do something wrong. I am prepping for ROC and I will Fedex my application. That means I will send it to the office in Phoenix. I would prefer to use credit card to pay the fee so I just wanna double check if I can do that? The Phoenix office can process credit card right? Do you guys recommend me to pay with credit card or check? Thanks!
