  2. Hello everybody, we had interview few days ago, so I want to share my experience. First she asked for my birth certificate, original and copy and for my ssn, passport and marriage certificate. She also took my husbands passport. She asked us for our financial situation, is everything same, we said yes. Then she asked us to tell her our love story, how we met, and get married. My husband said (and it was so funny to me) So I went to Serbia and we had mutual friend and she was there and we talked and I stayed there for 3 weeks and we hang out and she was awesome... and then I came back after two months, we went to vacation and I went back to Chicago, and then we had another vacation, and then I came again and then I asked her to come. She was denied for tourist visa and I told her that I want her to come here and be my wife... end of the story She said oook. Then she took my fingerprints and photo and asked those question about criminal history and then she told us that we are approved but she gave us a letter saying that case is on hold. I was confused, she said I just need  few more hours to fill up some documentation and by the end of the day you should see change in case status. And that how it was, my case status changed around 6 pm new card is being produced. And morning after, case was approved.

@NataBubu It took almost 2 months for my husband to get approved after his biometrics. Some people have seen similar timelines and others received their approval with 1-2 weeks. So it varies. Best advice, keep calling and try to reach out to your Senator. We didn’t see any movement until our Senator got involved.

I did, two times, no answer... 🤷🏻‍♀️

My case status changed from "Finger Print Received" to "Finger Prints are Taken" today. 24 hours to update from Biometrics Appointment

Mine is sill the same, and did you guys noticed that now it’s impossible to get through agent when you call USCIS, when you say I want to speak with representative, she saying something like, you can get more information talking to me, what else can I help you, and what ever you said, like I want to speak with agent or I need more info about something, she said, I can’t help you with that and hang up every time 😂

One wonders if he will ever be eligible... All it takes is a fake claim of US citizenship to take a job or some other benefit and it’s game over. Forever.

Yes, I told him too that for example I came here in December on K1 visa and applied for everything on February and I still did not get work authorization, so if it’s that hard for me who came here legally and did everything on right way, I can’t even imagine how would be hard for him. He was very young when he came here, he lost all his family in war, he came alone with no money and he did not speak language, and without anybody’s help, so he did not know what he should do. He could just apply for  asylum and everything would be fine by now, but he did not know... so I’m not here to judge anybody, you never know what life can bring, I was just trying to help, so from all I can see, he can’t do nothing and that’s it. At least I tried. Thanks again everyone 🙏🏻

    Nope.

Sadly to admit, even if I knew of a way. I'd never, ever advise it to anyone like that.

There's a reason why legitimate people wait (some for years) before being legitimately approved a greencard, very often after months of hardship, uncertainty, unknowing and stressors (emotionally/financially) being placed on marriage/family relationships. To only then have people like your friend who, when all comes to it - makes it even more difficult for decent people just trying to live with their loved ones.

Grow up, be a big boy, accept the ban and move on.

Harsh yes, but these posts/discussions are all too frequent and gives me a stark realisation of the (fair) hoops we have to jump through to do this whole thing.

Ofcourse I asked for legal way, and yes you are right.

This is the reason why the US Gov is cracking down on this stuff cause of people like him not doing it the correct way, when the rest of us are doing it correctly.  I can almost say he sends most of what money he makes here is sent back home,  just udderly sad people have to do this to better themselves and be so selfish cause eventually it hurts everyone doing it legally i despise people like him.

Yeah you are right, I understand your attitude .
