It means gather all your supporting documents or evidence for an upcoming interview..
Ah yes I understood that but what further evidence are they in need of? I have sent more than enough in!

Very good you have plenty of time to get your documents and evidences together for your interview. Take the kitchen sink too if you have too as you only get this one shot so make it count!
What do you mean by evidence?

I received my biometrics letter on Monday for the 12th (next week!). San Francisco ASC.
Does anyone know how long approval will approx take after biometrics?
How long is a piece of string ..... 🙃

Hubby had his appointment today. Was pretty painless. Was in and out within 20 minutes. There were about 5 other people doing biometrics, each doing theirs at separate stations evenly spaced apart. There was a security guard at the door that asks for your appointment letter and passport. At the station they take your photo and then take fingerprint of each finger. Hubby was a tad nervous and was sweating a bit, so the women had to try to take his fingerprint multiple times, but they got it in the end, lol.
Same as my experience.
why was he so nervous?!? -

Congrats! It says you live in ashburn, VA, so is your field office the DC office in Fairfax?
Also, when did you get NOA1?Thank you.
Yes Fairfax - that’s for the interview. Biometrics is in Alexandria. To this date i haven’t received NOA1!!!!

I read somewhere on visa journey they are processing U.K. and Canada AOS first? Couldn’t help but think of this with 2 biometrics updates from those from the U.K.
it’s only 2 of us out of thousands lol!
doesn’t mean anything really.
good luck. -

Awesome - thanks. That means they're moving forward scheduling "new" appointments - there's hope for us May filers yet!
Certainly

Fantastic that you received your biometrics notice! That's progress!
Also, I agree that people should be patient and relax as much as possible, but people should also feel justified to be anxious/frustrated. People's life depend on this, and for some it has real consequences, not just an inconvenient delay.
*A lot of people already have jobs, but will lose them if they don't get their new EAD
*A lot of people are dependent on a job for their family to keep living the life they do
*This is not 2009. This administration has an agenda, and the USCIS is purposefully making life hard for us. (ASCs could have opened sooner if they wanted to, the printer issue was completely avoidable, etc.)
*Logical objective of the administration is to do what it can to get reelected: Make as few new immigrants as possible eligible to vote in November, and give out as few EADs as possible so that Americans can get the available jobs instead. I would not be surprised if the reason you got your biometrics appointment was because you did not apply for EAD...
Anyways, I'll take your advice and chill now.
Woah..... thanks for the info - it’s appreciated. I do not look / think about it in the depth of your examples you provided above. For me, I’m going with the flow.
There is just way too much guessing & speculation on forums and it’s not healthy.
I totally understand everyone’s personal circumstance is different but this is out of our control re USCIS and the process. Have to take it a day at a time.
I came on a K1 visa got married and applied for AOS. This will be my 1st biometrics.

Congratulations. And yes, wise words.
I have been around this block many times since 2009 (i know) and those are precisely my words to my husband. I know it doesn't work coming from someone so close to you. Just be patient with reason. All will be fine.
For those seeking EAD, find a job first. That's a bigger fish to fry than this document, understanding there's a loose dependency there. But if you are truly capable, your employer is willing to wait - also coming from someone who hires H1B workers - me.

Thank You for your kind words.
It’s unhealthy for people to delve so much into this and feel sad & upset. We are all in different parts of America and the USCIS offices all vary in they way they are opening back up / their procedure etc. I am in Virginia and have no idea how long I will have to wait for my biometrics or interview - but I’m not going to stress about it at all. We have good health and that’s all that matters.
I didn’t apply for the EAD form or the form to be allowed to leave the country. I personally didn’t see the point, just because the process takes so long!

My case status changed today.
Kind note to all - just sit back and relax. Patience is the key. Everyone is on a different journey with very different tales.
I myself find it better not to read constant threads / messages. You simply cannot compare your case to another persons.Wishing you all luck on this journey in this crazy world. We will get through this and look back and feel proud.

I got an RFIE for our marriage certificate too. SO frustrating given that it was 100% included in the filing.
They must lose paperwork or prolong the process .... 😂

Carina did you not file for the I-131 and the I-765? I was looking at your timeline and it just shows the I-485!
It was a bloody RFE for our birth certificates and marriage certificate. Which I like to add was included with our paperwork! Do they just end up losing things ? So frustrating!!!!!

Carina, correct me if I am wrong, but I think that she is just referring to her paper I-797C confirming the receipt of the application. My I-797C says under "next steps" that they will schedule my biometrics. I got my paper notice on April 11, and I am still waiting. I think the real good news will be when they start sending out biometric notices with a time and location! Don't think they will do that before they start opening up offices again. I suspect that they are going to do a gradual opening with opening offices in less affected states first. I just hope they don't do an across the board extension of the closure again!
Mako_5: Let us know when that combo card arrives! More EAD cards without biometrics would be great. We have 3 more letters coming from USCIS today!! Cannot wait to open them 🥳🥳

Great news for me.... notice came today informing me a biometrics appointment will be scheduled for me. How long have y’all waited to receive this?

Looking at your timeline you're not even married yet. Please, please update your timeline and keep us posted about your case. Harrisonburg is more of a service center than an local field office so they're might stepping in with the NBC. So my guess is that your case might gets processed there like it would be at the NBC before it gets send to your LFO.
Oh whoops haha!! We got married in February. Totally forgot about my timeline but have updated.
excuse my ignorance but what’s the NBC please? LFO is that short for local field office?

when i googled all i saw were comments about DACA and asylum applicants. Maybe they sent in there in error..can't say for sure. or maybe they are distributing work load.
I highly doubt they were sent in error, more likely distributing our forms to our local USCIS office.

Oh wow. I have never seem a message like this before. At some point did it say fingerprint fees were received?
No mention of fingerprints or fees although they have taken the appropriate fees (myself and my daughter’s) out of my bank account today.

Just seems so much. We have separate bank accounts but the rest we have joint.
But wow, had no idea we had to show them this as evidence 🤣
