Aiya got a reaction from kkmk in Just had my AOS Interview yesterday
Hi everyone! I've just had my AOS interview yesterday morning at the Queens USCIS office in New York City and I was approved! So happy after the 1.5 year wait.
I just wanted to share the experience here.
My hubby and I were pretty prepared. We had photocopies and originals of everything listed on the appointment letter. We also prepared photos of us, shared credit cards, health & dental insurance, etc. as evidence of our relationship.
The lady who interviewed us was super nice and gave off a really warm feeling. I was surprised when all she asked from all of our evidence that we prepared was a photo of us without our masks on. She didn't even look at any of the originals/copies of documents listed on the appointment letter. So my husband picked out a photo that had our dog in it as well and then the whole interview from there was mostly about our dog - what's her name, her breed, how old, where did we get her, etc. It was like a normal conversation among pet parents.
Then the lady wrote something in my passport about the date of interview, her name, my A-number, etc. and said should expect a letter in a couple of days. I checked my case status online and says the new card is being ordered and will be mailed soon!
I think there shouldn't be much to worry about if your relationship is bona fide. Just try to be natural and real. I do think I was quite fortunate in my case as I do read a lot of different experiences on here, some of which do seem quite a pain.
Good luck to everyone going to their interviews soon!
