Current annual pay:  Any of the following is accurate.

    Current weekly income x 52

    Current monthly income x 12

Current pay period x number of pay periods per year

For active duty, current monthly LES amount x 12 is accurate.

    thank you very much! :)

I would say it's safe to multiply by 12 if he gets paid a salary monthly. So let's say he gets paid 5,000 a month just multiply by 12 and you will get your current annual income.

thanks so much for your reply :)

Just wanted to check, we aren't able to schedule our medical until we have a visa appointment, correct?

Applying For a K1 visa, and am on the waitlist for an appointment

I emailed the clinics and they said I to wait for the appointment date. When was your CEAC status ready?

  3. @Greenbaum Hello! question, if I have already submitted the DS-160 and there are new information that I need to update such as address and employment details, should I send a new DS-160?
MRV paid in March and case status has been READY since March as well.

I just wanted to know if I need to prepare a new DS-160 for the interview as well as update the details in the I-134.

    Thank you! 😀

Yes, I spoke to someone and their interview was re-booked for the end of November, that was the earliest they could get. Just wanting to get a grasp of how delayed everything will be and if there's even a slither of chance that I would be able to get an interview for this year once my NOA2 is approved. Also had another person say that they got the notification that their paperwork was being sent to the Syd embassy, things are moving 🙂

Hi, I just emailed ustraveldocs and this was their response:

    Thank you for your email.

We have yet to commence K1 visa interview scheduling. Once we do, our office will contact you.

    Thank you,

    Immigrant Visa Unit (cc)
    U.S. Consulate General, Sydney

Can I ask who the person e-mailed to book the interview?

My case status has been ready since March.

Our request for expedite was APPROVED! I got the email about 45 mins ago!

Awaiting correspondence from the Consulate in Sydney for interview date etc!

Just as VIC will most likely go into lockdown 🙃

Congratulations! May I ask, what's  your reason for the request and who did you email for the request? Thank you! :)

An interview on a tourist visa is fine but residency will be a requirement. Since you have been living and working in Australia that you have covered. If you can get an extension, it's best to stay with an interview in Australia. Currently where is your case pending? Philippines or Australia?

@Greenbaum Thanks so much for your reply.

My case has been "READY" in the US Consulate in SYDNEY since February and already paid the MRV fee. They told me that I am on the waiting list for interview.

Should I need to email of call them to confirm if tourist visa is okay to have while waiting for the interview?

    Thanks so much again! :)

Your case won't get transferred unless YOU request it or upon interview,  the consulate in Australia determines they no longer have jurisdiction.

Secondly,  while Australia definitely has covid more under control than Philippines , the only bad thing happening is in the Cebu area and the rest of the country is much more relaxed

But if I apply to for a tourist visa to extend my visa while waiting for my interview, will that be okay or tourist visa is not allowed?

It’s highly likely you won’t have your k1 interview before July. I don’t believe you can Obtain a US visa while being a tourist in a country. Is there any reason why you don’t extend your work visa? There is no telling when the embassy will open up for visa processing and you may be out of a job for awhile.

It's not a work visa, it is an extension visa after studying masters for two years.  My employer wanted to sponsor me but I declined it and told him I can't as I am getting married in the US and then COVID happened. Everyone is telling me to have my interview here as it's not looking good in the Philippines. So I am trying to find ways to be able to stay here and wait for my interview as my case status is 'READY'.

  9. Hi! I need help regarding my situation.

I am in Australia with a Temporary resident visa expiring this July, 2020. I have been here for more than 4 years now. Studied for 2 years and worked for 2 years.

My case status has been “READY” since February of this year (US Consulate SYDNEY).

If ever I don’t get an interview date before my Australian visa expires, I am planning to get a tourist visa to extend my stay just to wait for my interview.

I am worried that if my case gets transferred to the Philippines where the current COVID situation is not good, my application will be delayed even more and may fall under complication and uncertainty. Whereas here in Australia, things are better with good chances of earlier interview dates (but of course nothing is for sure).

Is it okay to have a tourist visa as an extended visa while waiting for my interview?

    Thank you so much!

You don't have a visa to expire in July. I'm assuming you have only your NOA2 which you are using that date for your assumption that it expires in July. Which is not necessarily true. Your NOA2 is good for one year and can be extended by the embassy in four month increments to the one-year date. Then it at that time it's expired and you will need to start from the beginning.

    :time:

Sorry @Greenbaum, what I meant was my Australian visa, as I currently have a temporary visa at the moment. I am a Filipino.

    Thank you! :)

I hope this helps. Where will your interview take place?

@Greenbaum thanks for your reply. so helpful as always. :)

I am not sure yet where I will be interviewed. Hopefully here in Australia. I already paid the MRV fee just waiting for the interview appointment. The problem is, my visa will expire in July. So I don't know if I can request for an appointment.

I'll wait until end of the month and see how it goes before I email the embassy.

  12. Hello everyone, is there a template for a revalidation letter that is required during the interview? Thank you! :)

Revalidation Letter: Copy only • Your I-129F petition may expire by the time you attend your final visa interview. To revalidate your petition, please have your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) provide you with a letter requesting that your petition be extended to a further 4 months from the approval date of the I-129F petition. This letter must be dated and signed by your fiancé(e) The letter from your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) should state their intention to still marry you within 90 days of your arrival into the U.S. with the K-1 visa and that you both are still free to marry.
  13. Hi @Greenbaum

I would like to ask if it is okay to put 'MARRIAGE' as purpose for the request of CENOMAR.

Also, how long is the validity of CENOMAR?

I requested last year and included it our K1 fiance visa application. I used 'MARRIAGE' as the purpose, should I use the same?

    Thank you! :)

I hope you get an interview soon. If you have any concerns I would email the consulate - they were really helpful when I had questions.

Thank you :) the interview was really easy. Over in less than 5 minutes. I’m not in the US yet - still waiting for my passport to come back to me. I hope I can leave in a couple of weeks.

Which email address did you use to contact them?

Thanks so much. I wish you all the best. Keep safe and healthy. :)

I think the current message from the consulate is that all the routine interviews are cancelled until 31 May. I got an emergency interview due to my fiancés upcoming deployment. Sounds like you have a tricky situation if your visa expires before you get an interview. Can you extend your Australian visa?

Maybe get a tourist visa which I don't like to do as it won't make sense. Also, I thought by this time I am already in the US but after COVID, nothing seems to be certain. I am just hoping and won't stop praying that I get an interview date before my visa expires.

Are you in the US now? How was the interview?

    Congratulations on your approval! :)

Mine expired too when the shut down hit. When it was about to expire, the Sydney consulate emailed me saying if you want it extended, they would need a letter from the petitioner requesting an extension to the petition. It’s pretty simple and won’t be an issue!

Hi! Thanks for your reply. May I ask how were you able to get an interview in April? My Australian visa will expire in July and I don't have an interview date yet. I already paid, just waiting for an appointment. Is there a way to request for an appointment?

    Thank you! :)
