  1. You have a long waiting time about 4 months or so before approval/denial of the application. Next step (where I am) is in the NVC (National Visa Center). Once your packet arrives in the NVC (somewhere in New Hampshire, you apply for AOS (Affidavit of Support) for your mother. You pay the $88, for the fee, the submit the AOS packet (all emailed regarding what to do) once received and done, you check your status in NVC website (again all info is provided in your email). Then you pay for the Visa processing which is $230 or so to start the processing of your Visa for your mother and fill up DS-230 Parts I & II forms. Once everything is in place, the packet then is sent to Manila Embassy. You get emailed again regarding medical exam for your mother, and then finally the interview and issuance of the Visa.

Who is responsible for filling out DS-230? Myself or my mother/father? Because if they live oversea like in Vietnam, how do they sign the form if I fill it out here in the USA.

  2. Hola amigos/amigas:

I got an email on Sept 30, 10 that says my 10 yrs green card has been approved/ordered. :P I'm very happy this process went pretty quick and we got approved without interview. Good paperwork and proofs really paid off. I mailed over 2 pounds of documents. I sent in application on Jul 19, 10, had bio done on Aug 26, 10 and it was approved on Sept 30, 10. Thanks God. God Bless everyone and good luck to all.

  5. I just saw on USCIS's website that my I-485 has been approved... now I was looking through VJ and I wondered what is the I-551 (or whatever) stamp on passport? I sdidn't have an interview, do I need to have it? I have no clue.

the stamp is only temporary doc that says you were approved for GC while waiting for GC to be arrived if you were interviewed for GC. You were approved without interview, no worry. You GC will come soon. Congrats :wacko:

  6. the2ofus:

  8. Hey guys, you won't believe what happened!

I was driving to target to my interview and my the highway exit I was supposed to take was closed, I had some good extra minutes since I left earlier but it wasn't enough, I had to go back all the way and got there about 9 minutes late, they told me they couldn't interview me because the interviews were from 30 to 30 minutes and I wouldn't have enough time....

I'm so frustrated, I know it wasn't my or anyone's fault but when I finally get a job interview appointment, that happens...They said I could call again and TRY to reschedule it, but I feel so ashamed, I don't know if I will or not, what do you think?

Just updating you guys on the news, thanks for wishing me luck!

Sorry to hear. Try again - it's only Target or you can try to find something else. It's so hard to look for jobs nowadays noone is hiring or their businesses are slow or something  My unemployment ended I've been looking for at least a month and no luck no one is calling me :wacko:

  9. guyyyyysss :wow::wow::wow: i m the only one here left without anytouch on my aos since biometric and no interview letter :o:o ,,my case status says CASE RECIEVED AND PENDING ,, ,,,, till now i did not recieve any RFE ,, absolutely nothing ..... who else here at the same situation as me ,,,,,, helloooo is there anybody here ,, or just me ??? :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

I'm sorry you're still waiting. I think there're still a few June filers waiting too: I luv my chappara still waiting for her AOS. You're still within 6 months window, so don't panic too much, but if you want to you can try and call the 800 USCIS # to see what they say :wacko:

  10. hello everyone,,, congrats to all who got interview and Gc :)

OMG. I got hired today :star: :star: :star: it seems I can't believe it.... and I will start tomorrow right away :star:

Maybe I will be busy, but I will still check here:)

Good luck everybody.... :) remember, always think positive and believe :)

OMG :wow: Congratulations! It's hard to find work nowadays with stinky economy. I'm glad you got it and good luck w/ it. Good luck on your AoS too :wacko:

  11. Well, this is not what we expected after being transferred to CSC. Personally I wish they never did transfer us if they were going to make us have an interview after all. Oh, and I never got this in an email. I have just been checking the USCIS site everyday and tonight, this is what I came upon. I guess its better then getting an RFE for sure. Now I know we'll have to prepare for an interview. Wish I knew when because I have a job interview next Friday. I hope it won't be hard to get time off work to go for an interview in Atlanta. Anyways, good luck to all those who are transferred to CSC too. I hope you get your greencards without an interview!!!!

  12. Hi Ralph&Hanh,

Sorry about the hold-up...this happened to my case too.....I was divorced and had to provide spouses current residence and info, unfortunately, this is the case with all divorced people filing K-1 Visas. Ask M.E. He is your best advocate now to get you through this mess....I only had to wait 56 days before he got me out of A.R. vs waiting 6 months. So hang in there brother and you will be with your sweetie soon...

If I had known you were divorced, I would have told you about the ex-spouse current address document...and I understand it is a pain having to have them make that document for you, the other thing you can do, is go-online and pay for a back-ground check on your ex-spouse so you dont have to deal with her directly.

    all the best..

    -Guy&Hoa

God Bless you! I just looked it up and I can do a state bachground check for $30 :) Thank you thank you thank you

I talk to the head of my department today to see about going full time. Once again, the economy is hitting hard. And I will know in a week or two if I will be full time or laid off. Isn't that just Great!?!

Sorry! Even if you get laid off, you still can use your assests (if you have) in place of your income. That was what I did for K-1 interview and Green Card adjustment, and it was acceptable without a co-sponsor. Good luck to you!

  13. hi saed4,

How have you been? I guess you're still waiting for the interview letter. Just hang in there you will get it. At least you have your EAD and a job to survive with the stinky economy nowadays  Good luck to all with job huntings

thank u vert much visao,,,its noce of u to come back here and check about our news even if u already got your GC ,, ,, i m still waiting on my interview letter impatiently ,, i did some classes and i just got graduated las week ,, and now i m starting ny new position at my job as a manager ,, things r getting easier and beter for me here in the states the onlly things i worry about is that aos,, my family in my home country are harassing me about visiting them ,,,, anyway i m hunging here waiting on my interviw letter , thank god for that job it makes my days fly ,,, ,, i have a strong feeling that i m gonna find my interview letter at anytime in the mailbox :thumbs: ,,, and i hope good luck for everybody who is at the same boat as me

That's a nice job, hang on to it :)

  14. After I give them everything, how long will we have to wait? I may be in contact with a friends relative that works for immigration here in the states instead of M.E. I'm not sure yet. I really don't know what to do. Maybe another immigration agent might have more pull? Like I said.... I just don't know. I just want to know how long after they have what they are asking for can she get a visa? Anyone know?

After submitted, they might give you the pink slip on the same day, or they might issue another blue/green slip asking for more info, or they might give you a blue/green slip saying "no more info needed, just go home and wait for a decision"--in this case it could be months. I tried on my own first and got the pink without the lawyer's help after blue and green slips. Sorry to hear about your case. Hope you'll get pink soon :wacko:
