  1. Hi all:

I sent AOS package to NVC via certified mail and it arrived @ NVC on a Saturday. I tracked usps it said business closed saturday and left notice there. I'm wondering if NVC responds to notice by filling out form for redelivery or NVC will pick it up ( I doubted). Has this happened to anyone, how did it turn out? Is package coming back to me if NVC not responding to usps notice within 15 days? I'm very worried now  I should have sent just first class or over night, should have not sent certified mail. :help:

  2. The case number has been assiged yesterday, and they also provided the IIN, When I checked to pay the AOS fee online, it shows: Payment Status not invoiced. ANd the $88 fee is not showing up yet. How long you think it takes? THanks

Mine on same day they entered it in system, was able to pay fee right away.

  3. Good Morning all:

I'd like to know if NVC schedule interview date and notify the petitioner (choice of agent) by mail or email. This is for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Consulate.

Also in Vietnam, do you pick up your Visa in person or do they send it to your home address?

Reason I'm asking because they mis-spelled my father-in-law's address in Vietnam. Should I be worried and notify NVC about this or if they deal with email interview date/pick up Visa in person, I should just ignore it.

Thanks everyone and have a nice day :)

I went ahead and emailed NVC for address correction just in case :)

  4. Hi everyone:

Do I have to send copies of all documents (AOS package, IV package, I-864, I-864A, pay stubs, employment letter, police cert, ect....)to the beneficiary in Vietnam for him to take to the interview? I thought I'm the one sending to NVC all required docs and NVC will review and complete my case at NVC then forward to Consulate. Will the interview letter tell me a list of docs to bring with you to the interview. Am I sending to my Dad the same thing I've submitted to NVC? Why this is being repeated? My case not complete yet, so no letter to see yet but I'm very confused of what to send to my Dad. Looks like another big express mail envelope going to Vietnam

  5. Well when you receive interview appoiment they will have list of documents that they needed . Just wait until that times right now you need to complete the case first . NVC does have everything you submitted and they will forward them to consulate. My friends told me that you just brings these documents in case if they don't have on file . You always wanted to be safe if you don't have it they might give you blue slip to come back . Also, please write your case number on every documents you submitted to NVC then staple everything together . Good luck !

    Thanks for heads-up :)

  6. The visa is valid for 6months prior to your interview . I think it's dosent matter if you leave close to expiration date as long it's dosent expire . If not you have to contact consulate to reissue the visa

You can schedule medical examination when you have your interview letter . You need to bring your interview letter on the date of your medical examination . The cost is 130 . I saw people do medical examination week before their interview . You can go to cho ray or iom.

Here is the link for the consulate you can find all your info :http://hochiminh.usconsulate.gov/immigrant-visas.html

Your dad might need your recent tax , letter employment , pay stub from you , AOS support , police certificate . I don't know what you send in but when you receive interview letter they will send list what they have and what you need to bring on the date of the interview .

    Good luck

Thank you for your response :)

AOS package and IV package (tax returns, letter of employment, pay stubs, police cert, birth cert, etc.) I'm planning to send to NVC to complete Visa process, do I have to resend those same docs to my Dad again? I'm confused because NVC will have all required docs already and NVC will forward the case to HCM. Why he needs to have those again when I already sent to NVC.

  7. Visao- Where did you email them? What did you email them pls? If you don't mind sharing? My NOA2 is dated Feb 7, and NVC just told me they received our case today. Want to get this process moving. Thank you

I called NVC, they rec'd my case on Feb 19th, my case was approved on Feb 6th. I called them they said it takes 20 business days from Feb 19th, but they emailed me back the NVC case # sooner than the 20 business days. I emailed NVC at NVCInquiry@state.gov asking if they've rec'd my case from USCIS, give your uscis case #, petitioner's name and DOB, beneficiary's name and DOB in the email, ask them to email you back once the case's entered in the system and email you back the NVC case #.

  8. Hello everyone!

For Immigrant Visa (IR-5) at HCM Consulate, after the interview do you pick up your Visa in person or do they mail to the applicant's home address?

My wife used to pick hers up @ in person (K-1 Visa). I'm not sure for other types of Visa. Anyone knows?

  9. Hi everyone:

Please help me answer following ?'s:

1)How long is immigrant visa (IR-5) valid for from date of issue? Does it matter when you leave Vietnam, closer to expired date is OK or not for this type of visa?

2)When to schedule a medical exam? is it before interview date, what info you need to bring to exam? or you just tell them your NVC case #? Please provide address of place to get medical exam in HCM, and how much does it cost?

3)What civil docs need to be sent from my Dad in Vietnam to me to be submitted to NVC?

    Thanks all!

No one knows? No one wants to answer me :( or you're all being busy

  10. Hey Icede,

Weird, I saw similar date mismatch for our case too. For past 2 weeks, they kept telling us that they received our case on Feb 22nd. But last Friday and today, they told us that they received our case on 18th. I am not sure which date is correct. But either way, I'll be happy to just get a case #. We called this morning, no case # yet.

Mine too :) First time I called they said they rec'd it on Feb 18th, then 2nd time Feb 19th. Feb 18th was President's Day  Anyhow I'm happy I got my NVC case # by email cause I emailed them.

champi: You'll get it this week

  12. It was already established that the principal sponsor is a US citizen when the petition was approved since you have provided the proof when you sent in your petition.

Maybe wait until the next day when it shows in your bank account that the money has been taken out. In my case, they took the money the next day & the status in the payment portal still showed IN Process. But I did wait for a few more hours that day till it changed to PAID. Then I went to the Post office to mail off my AOS packet.

I didn't send proof of same residence for me & my spouse (co-sponsor). I don't think it is necessary. When I called NVC I asked if they reviewed my AOS & if everything was complete. The operator told me that unless a received a checklist I shouldn't worry about my AOS.

I followed what was recommended by VJ Wiki for my AOS Packet(s)

    I-864 Cover Sheet with barcode

    Your cover sheet

    I-864 Signed & Dated

    I-864A (Co-sponsor)

3 years Tax Return or Tax Transcript copies

Pay stubs from the most recent six months

    Employment Letter

    Proof of Citizenship ( Co-sponsor)

Thank you for your complete answers :)

  14. Hi everyone:

I paid AOS fee already today and still showing as in process. Do I have to wait until it says PAID in order to send AOS package to NVC?

Also both sponsor and co-sponsor need to provide copy proof of US citizenship right? or just co-sponsor?

And my wife and I live in the same address, I need to send proof of same residence, ie drivers license of both, or something that shows both names on same address? I've read somewhere but I'm overwhelmed with all the information I forget where I read it :) Sorry for this being repeated. Could someone please help me sending a list of what need to be sent w/ AOS package?

    Thanks again all.
