I just got a notice from USCIS by email that 9/6/08 they sent us a notice for a request for additional evidence. I have no idea what in the world they needed we sent copies of absolutely everything and double checked it ten times. I think we even sent more than what they needed.

Sorry for the RFE. Let us know what it is when you get it. I was hoping/thinking most files transferred to CSC were RFE free already.

Jen and I just received email stating her card had been ordered. Said it could take up to 30 days but from reading on here, I guess we can expect it any day now. Still nothing on the AP but, again, that looks like we may not hear anything until it arrives in the mail. Congrats to all who are becoming permanent.

....So i guess they need more evidence... I can understand this. I knew I might be missing something... BUT... My question is why have they sent me this today:

I'm confused too Did you mail back the RFE docs? If you did, maybe they're approving your AOS and sending you the GC.

yes, great news. We got a "card production ordered" email today for I-485 with no previous notice of approval, no EAD or AP received/touched/notified...weird. Not complaining though

My visa says the k1 status expires soon.. I'm confused. How do I show the school that I'm here legally? I sent them my pending AOS and the document that was stamped after I was fingerprinted. They said this was not good enough.

If an NOA from filing AOS isn't good enough, then you'll have to wait for the EAD or GC, whichever comes first, because there is nothing else that shows you are here legally.

Regarding savings, we only showed proof of her savings account with has about 3 times the amount. Anyways, we called USCIS and they said the problem was 'likely' that they lost her info.

To be able to use assets (i.e. savings), you need to have either 3x or 5x the poverty guidelines figure in order for them to use it. I don't remember which, but I think it's 3x.

"The total value of all assests must equal 5 times (3 times for spouses and children of USC's, or 1 time for orphans to be formally adopted in the U.S.) the difference between the poverty guidelines and the sponsor's household income" --Form I-864

..."We exceed the poverty guidelines in savings"....

What do you mean? Do you have at least 5 times 17,500$??? Or 3 times if spouse of USC?

They ask for additional evidence for the income of my husband:

a. employment letter

b. pay stubs for the previous 6 months

c. number of ours of his job

here's the situation:

My husband and I went for vacation in Latin America since October 2007 and then he went to my country and wait for me until I received my visa, therefore he quit his job since then, but he have monthly income from Veterans that is above average.

We filed my AOS less than a month after we got married in civil wedding, he did not start yet his new job that time.. therefore we did not include such items that USCIS asking us, but we did include, evidence that his monthly income is deposited directly to our checking account, letter from veterans that he's receiving that money every month and federal income tax exception.--for non taxable income., we sent also a co sponsor just in case..

question:

1. How can he produce that previous 6 months pay stubs? he did not work since October 2007. Can we just send the previous 2 stubs of his new job? because he just started last July 21.

I cannot believe it! got the I485 before the work permit!! I am not complaining!! This is great, and i hope others will have the luck that we have had in getting our papers. less than 8 months from initial K1 application to issue of greencard! isnt that crazy fast! We were lucky i guess!

I don't see any report of touching on I-485's today. Is USCIS website even working? I have not seen they update the processing time date yet; it still shows July 15, 08 No touch today for my I-485 or website is not functioning.

Seeing all of you getting your cases touched or even better approved makes me wonder if this forum really helps me or only helps my anxiety level go up. I am happy for all of you but my selfishness makes me wonder "why not me"?

Don't worry, your turn will come soon. My EAD was approved in 71 days from date filed. I filed June 6th and was approved on August 16th; yours was filed late June, so I guess you'd have to wait a couple more weeks.

i wanted to have her on my account becuase i think they will want to see that at the GC interview. she does help her cousin at her salon but not really a real job. yea right now she is using her passport as id too. i just wanted to get her on my account asap so the statement would have her name too. but i think ill just have to do it after i get the EAD casrd for her. oh the bank is guaranty bank. its a small bank but they have alot of good benifits, i just changed to them, i left Wamu. im so glad the wamu nightmare is over now!! lol

We have Bank of America. We just showed her SS card and passport, and it was accepted. WaMu is offering 5% APY on a 1 year CD. It's very tempted to open an account with that great rate, but I heard they're in need of cash and could go off on FDIC; that's why they offer that rate; no one is offering higher rate than them for now. Plus their service sucks? What should I do? I'm only earning 4% w/ Countrywide.
