Hi Shaun, have you got any Information regarding cancellation or rescheduling the interview?

My interview is also scheduled on April 1st, but hasn’t got any information from USCIS. My status in the website remains scheduled as before. I think they will definitely cancel and reschedule the interviews since the governor just expanded “Shelter in Place” last night.

Yes, in my document file it’s says that...Due to unforeseen circumstances my interview has been De-scheduled.   That’s was basically all it said.  I guess I will get the postal version soon.

    Shaun.

  2. Two weeks ago I was concerned and extremely disappointed my oath could be cancelled.  I was somewhat contented my April 1st Interview would still go ahead.  Now, I don’t care if all this is placed on hold for months.  I don’t want to go anyplace where I could unknowingly infect a vulnerable person or contract and spread the virus to my loved ones, neighbors and those who could die from it.  It’s not worth it.  Protecting my family and community is my priority right now.

    thanks for your reply.

That was my main concern -  the building basically deals with every variation of immigration and related services, so I thought it might become crowded early outside (from the pics i've seen on Yelp etc.), I'll definitely be there at least half an hour ahead of time, thank you!

also - I've been thinking about the COVID-19 situation regarding all of this too, and I can certainly imagine Oath ceremonies being delayed over the next few months and possibly interviews as well.
There have been some 'Large Gathering' events in the area already cancelled so I would think the idea of 5,000 people turning up at Staples Center could well become an issue.

I suppose a positive way to look at it, is that it's all been one long waiting game anyway..  but that's not much comfort when 'so near the finish line' as it were - I guess these are all things we should expect given the current situation too.

very best wishes to you and your wife for a smooth process going forward!

I have my interview a few days after yours on April 1st.  So I guess we will either both be at the same oath ceremony.....or two fellow Brits held waiting to cross the finish line by the Coronavirus.

Hopefully!! And yes, will definitely report back.

I think this post was also aimed at helping me managing my anxiety about the possibility of an oath postponement! I'd be happy for other people to tell me I am overreacting and that everything will be okay!

You are not over reacting.  My interview is in 2 weeks so I could have an oath in April or May.  Los Angeles gives the oath to 10,000 in one day.  When you hear music festivals and conventions are being cancelled losing millions in revenue, its logical to see such large scale oath ceremonies being delayed or cancelled.  I have waited 20 years for this day, it’s hard to now see it possibly moved further away.

#######, I can not believe a civil union would complicate things. Marriage is legal in Argentina, but we will be visiting the US in February. I am not sure if we would be allowed to marry there and then apply for the CP-1.

Are we certain a civil union in her country would not make her eligible for the K-1 visa?

Unless you are legally married in the US or a country that allows same-sex marriage, USCIS will not recognize the union for immigration.  However if you legally marry the civil union will be seen as proof of your relationship and could be helpful.

I married my Husband in 2012 and was giving a Green-card just days after DOMA was struck down.  Congratulations on your union and good luck on your immigration journey.

Hey bro I love numbers too. They never lie :goofy: at some point I read all 1000 plus pages on the Naturalization thread. So  much to learn from history and current experiences of others

How is your case going? I like Cali but this is just one of the reasons I cannot  join you guys there.:goofy:

The size just makes processing of everything cumbersome

Well after crunching the LA office numbers it shows no one is getting an interview until at least 6 months after NOA.  So I don’t expect to hear anything until at least January 😞

Q3 numbers are here  for some of us who like to analyze data. I must say for my FO they received over 1500 application within three months and over 2500 cases still pending

I will start to give USCIS a little break, to adjudicate an average of 500 N400 cases alone alongside a bulk of other applications they have to deal with. It is quite a lot

So I will tone down my whining :goofy:

    Congratulations!

The tracker spreadsheet is slowly yet surely filling up with interviews.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19rv0w-Ls_-225a0AqzhsTObXb2DcT07oACpdIHhn9dE/edit#gid=0

    56 applicants, 16 interviews scheduled/conducted, and 2 oath ceremonies.

I often wonder if some people visit this site shortly after application, fill in their filing and biometrics date, then never return to update.  I say that because I look at older spreadsheets, some back to 2018 and 2017 and see a number never added an interview date.  Maybe that’s because of the backlog or they just became frustrated with the long wait period and forgot about this site.  It’s a little frustrating because if everyone keeps updating spreadsheets, it gives us more insight to actual waiting times are our local offices.

I just got finished with my interview a few minutes ago. I got sworn in, passed all the tests and got my form questionnaire reviewed. BUT officer could not approve me because of an encoding error (literally, he said was on their end and he was sort of apologetic). Still the form I received said I cannot be approved at this time and would have to wait until they fix their system (which again is a mistake on their end- to my great inconvenience!)  Apparently their office encoder entered my case twice and so now I have to wait til that get merged before my case proceeds. I feel like this is a unique case so I hope I am taking one for the team, that no one else have to be robbed of that feeling of “yes, I made it!” Because right now I don’t know how to feel. Nothing was my fault, yet I can’t freely say it turned out okay. I’m like in limbo and I don’t know if anyone would ever follow up with it, or if my case will get cold etc. Oh well. Bring in the suspense to the very last, why not? 😂😂😂

Well first congratulations.  I have read of similar issues like yours and the people received the official approval a few days later online.  Hope that will be the same in your case.

It's really disheartening, after waiting five years, to wait all this time, and not even be sure it won't be pushed back again.

I wonder if anyone knows if one of us had to travel and stay out of the country for a few months now, if this would affect his naturalization?

It is frustrating and I think we all keep checking on our case files hoping to find an update.  It also seems unfair that some people complete the process in 4 months and some wait way over a year.  But it is what it is and I will be happy as long as I get to vote in the next election.

Good and bad news for me. Saw my interview letter for October 30th on the website and it's in El Paso, Texas. I live in Colorado. The closest field office to me is in Denver, Colorado. I don't know why they scheduled an interview in El Paso, Texas. I called the USCIS number and they were also surprised. They said they are gonna have to send an email to the El Paso field office to transfer my file to Denver field office. Process usually takes 2 weeks. I will call them back in 2 weeks. Fingers crossed.

I think this is an error.  The idea of transferring cases is to reduce the wait times for people whose local office has a high volume.  You can see that El Paso TX has a much longer waiting time than Denver.  That policy has also been in place for 4 months and I have not heard of anyone else having an interview at an office so far from their home.
