You don’t need to be married to file for work permit (EAD) but will be married by the time you get it in several months.

Didn't see your original explanation that you posted with the link! Makes sense now, ironically the official statement confused me more when I attempted to read it. Sometimes I feel we need legalese translators just like sign language translators are mandatory.

Let’s also take a deep breath here guys. I know poster has asked about before it but let’s face it, not everyone is comfortable planning getting married after meeting just 3 times, or filing k1 just because getting a B visa is hard. which it is for Ethiopia, 45% refusal rate.

@Abrhacan you clarify if this is “boyfriend” or “fiancé” and whether you have actually filed, or are planning to file, a K1? That will help us figure out if we should be answering your question at face value (in other words, what kind of factors will be helpful and what won’t, though all will be to do with your boyfriend’s situation and not what you can do).

    Good.

Almost every single particle of virus that was carried from country to country was delivered by an airplane.

That should have been the first industry to be shut down.

Did not need to have a new I-864 after all. Since my husband got a new job I thought we needed to do a new I-864 to show his new income etc (we were using assets to meet requirements) but it was overkill apparently. I advised that he got a new job and that I had the job offer letter with me but the officer didn’t need it. He asked questions of how we met, how many people were at the wedding, what my husband does for a living and where we are going to live and made small talk. Whole thing felt more like a conversation really.

Glad to be done. Feel free to ask me any other questions!
