How did you got an emergency appointment? I understand they are for critical emergencies only...

I just explained to them my pressing matters of my financial and mental health struggle. They requested documentation and upon review I was approved.

We were approved for an emergency interview at consulate almost 2 months. They contacted us 2 weeks ago and sent an email saying they would contact us after July 15th. We have not heard anything yet.

Hey I don't know if you have heard back from them again yet, but they contacted me today and set me up with an emergency appointment.

  2. Hi! So my fiancé and I were approved for an emergency appointment from the consulate for her K1 visa. Does anyone know what exactly happens next? They said they would contact her shortly via phone, in which I just updated her phone number on the appointment website since she got a new phone. The only part we had left was the Visa interview itself (as well as her fingerprint and medical appointment for the interview).

  3. Hey guys, I guess I fall under this category since I got my NOA2 back in 15 Jan 2020. Sadly, my fiance's interview appointment was 2 April 2020 so it was canceled due to COVID-19. Assuming like most others, we are just VERY ANXIOUSLY waiting and praying for an interview date again. It is especially tough right now since we have had no ability to see each other, due to the restrictions that are currently set on me, since I am a military member.

i have a cover letter and had each section numbered, then i had manila dividers with the colored tabs and printed out labels with each section number and brief description. but i guess that part won't be necessary now. i'll just have the cover letter, and then each document flowing after that. i think what i'll do is maybe paper clip each section (like the 13 page 129 form), then put them all into a single sheet protector like ThomasNC1988 suggests.

i'm considering doing the two-hole punch at the top, but i'm unsure about how to adjust our three hole puncher at the office. i know i could figure it out, or ask our office admin, but i'm not tryina screw up this packet :(

I did it exactly like you, in a binder, because of youtube videos I watched as well. Personally I had no problem and got accepted the whole way through, just waiting on a new interview date now. BUT that is just my personal experience.

My fiancée said the US Consulate in Hermosillo, MX is now open and processing visitor visas. So, that is good news. We are still waiting to be rescheduled. Our original appointment was today 6/11 for medical and 6/15 for interview. I have seen that they canceled through August. As such, I hope that they start rescheduling the ones they canceled in August. Her friend was contacted and rescheduled for early August for their visitor visa. So, we hope that will also hold for K1 interviews in Juaraz.

Is Hermosillo the only consulate processing visitor visas?

These are USCIS office that have had one on one contact in the past. So an application center for biometrics in the US would now be opening June 4 BUT USCIS for I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) processing has been open and is processing cases all along. This does not change anything for K-1's. Its certainty does not give the Green light for embassies to start one on one interviews as they are under DOS control and not USCIS.

This is correct. I was just posting that the medical center in Mexico contacted my fiance to schedule her medical appointment again, which just has me excited because they let us know that our K1 visa interview was canceled before the consulate did. So, hopefully that means that they are opening K1 visa medical appointments again because they have an idea that embassies/consulates will be opening back up soon. Especially since they wouldn't conduct her medical appointment last time until at least 2 weeks prior to her K1 interview. But at then end of the day, yes I am just being hopeful and optimistic.

  8. My fiance and I had an interview date of April 2, at the Ciudad Juarez consulate in Mexico. However, before we received official notification that they were suspending visa services, the MEDICAL CENTER actually contacted us days before claiming that the consulate had told them what was going to happen, before there was any official notice yet. So, seeing that my fiance just got an email saying that they are available to schedule a medical appointment with her again, tells me that this a good news and they are probably opening back up the Consulate again!!!! I'm trying to stay calmed and grounded but I am getting very excited!

Please let me know, for anyone else applying for a K1 visa in Mexico that had an Interview and Medical Exam date, if you have received this email as well.

  9. Currently, my fiance and I are waiting for the consulate to open back up to finish her fingerprint appointment and final interview for the K1 Visa. However, while we are waiting I would love to visit her, but our concern has always been, what happens if she were to become pregnant while we are still waiting for the K1 visa? Would she be able to obtain a B2 visa for her medical appointments for her pregnancy? I know the US has tighten down on this particular subject with "birth tourism", However, that only targets individuals who are looking to obtain this visa so their child can gain US citizenship. That wouldn't apply in our case because since I am a US citizen, my child would be as well anyways. The main reason we would want to do this would be for financial reasons anyways,
