Hello,
Today I received a message on USCIS Portal saying that my Interview for January 31st was cancelled and I will be notified for further information. What I don't get is that I didn't receive any mail nor email to notify me about the email.
Is this normal procedure? I am really confused. -
Congratulations for those who applied already!
I have everything ready but the Marriage Certificate which is dragging a lot in NYC, 3 weeks and still nothing. -

This is wonderful news for those waiting on Algiers!! Where are you finding such disclosures?
I keep looking and watching for Jamaica to resume K1 processing, but they keep blaming the Proclamation, which doesn't even talk about K1s.
This is the source
https://dz.usembassy.gov/u-s-embassy-algiers-resuming-limited-immigrant-visa-services/ -
After a long silence, the U.S. Embassy in Algiers will start re-issuing visas for Expired Immigrant Visas, Expired Diversity Visas, and Expired K1/K2 Finacée Visas. The embassy will not issue any new visas until the end of the Presidential Proclamation (10052) due 12/31/2020.
The road seems long for now, but I hope it'll brighten up for the upcoming weeks. -
Just a quick question to my fellow VJs,
My NOA2 due time is May 27th, and seeing that most embassies won't be open anytime soon, I contacted the Algerian embassy (IV-DValgiers@state.gov) about an extension but the response was so ambiguous.
Do any of you received the same, unconvincing response from the appropriate authorities?

@Ryceryce You need to be patient, like really patient!
For our case we are left in the dark since March 15th. I Tried to call and do everything possible but no help so far -- this is the effects of the Pandemic. -

The link doesn't work. Sadly.
It works just fine for me, it's a .GIF of the profile settings.

I have been using this, not sure if this is the only avenue to get information https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV
Are you using something else or are you aware of another website we can use? If so, would you please share it with me.
I used the same website and mine says "It's Ready", I think everything is slow due to COVID-19; just wait a little bit and try contacting them again.

Just an update, the U.S. embassy in Algeria is postponing all visas until later notified only for extreme cases (health related), knowing that there's less than 80 COVID-19 cases. I think similar decisions will take place in other countries.

Just a quick question,
I checked on CEAC today and our case is "READY" since 03/12/2020, but we got no notification at all, am I missing something here or it this normal? -
Hello fellow VJs,
We (my fiancée and I) got our NOA2 on January 28th, and now we're waiting for NVC step to get our case number -- for those who want to know, I'm from Algeria.
Even though I was searching everywhere for next step's information, your .PDF file is a great help!
Thank you so much for your professionalism @Greenbaum, you are a gem! -
Hi, just a question where did you get this military certificate? I have the military card, can I go with just that?

Does anyone know the W-2 forms work when taken to the interview. My fiancée recently got theirs, however they've only been in this job for a few months so the total wages doesn't amount to meet the 125% criteria. Is anything else taken into account so there isn't a denial when it comes to the financial support. Do they take into consideration about the other earnings to come in the upcoming months? Or they will only accept the wages given from the recent W-2?
Also, what are the documents to gather for the the Affidavit of support?

I thought the same thing. I was shocked by the information that they were giving. The pictures have zero weight comment shocked me honestly. How else would they know that you actually went and being seen with the family I heard is a big part.
So did I.
Thankfully I didn't follow them! -

Yes. I would include those receipts. Did she stay with her family during her last trip to Algeria? Or did she stay with yours? I would include photos of her with your family if you have them (I would only include a total of 5 photos.....she can always send more with you to the interview....or take them with her if she plans on attending the interview....the consulate will review any additional information you have during the interview...including subsequent trips of you two together)
That's great!
She stayed with her family here, but I have pictures with them, and with my family when she came to my house. So I guess I have nothing to fear anymore!
Insha'Allah everything will go smoothly!
I can't thank you more really! You've been a great help! -

Take it out of the pouches/binder. (They have to take it out of the pouches to scan it/file it) It is easier for USCIS if it’s not in the pouch)
And, yes, include a copy of her Algerian passport with the stamps and a copy of her US passport (I assume that is the document she used to re enter the US)
Thank you very much!
One last question, this is how I arranged the receipts (this is just a preview) do you think it's acceptable? -

Okay.....let’s just try to focus on what to do......
For filing the 129f......it’s the form, proof you met within the last two years, statement of intent to marry, and anything else you want to add....add the visas, passport pages and stamps, pictures, receipts.....but, for the initial filing....it does not need translated.
And don’t put it in a binder
I attached a picture of our binder like Paper Pouches. If it's acceptable (since there's no metal of some sort)
For passport pages and stamps, my fiancée used her Algerian passport to enter to Algeria, since she has dual citizenship. Is it okay to use those stamps on the Algerian passport as evidence?

So you are petitioning for a k1 visa correct?
You should focus on time spent together.....trips made together....pictures with her and your family.....
You do not have to translate receipts (my fiancé and I first met in Germany and then traveled to Prague.... I didn’t translate receipts)
Yes!
That's music to my ears!
So just scan them, and put them in binder!
Thank you -

Unless you can tie the receipt to the USC, it is just any receipt and of no value for proof of meeting. Boarding passes, passport stamps, hotel folios with named customer, etc....
I understand,
So it's better to not add them, just Boarding passes and anything that has the name on it.
Thank you very much! -

Do the receipts have the USC's name on them?
Just print photos on your printer, doesn't need to be on photo paper
No, in my country we don't print names on receipt (I know it's weird)

Petition phase or interview phase?
Oooh, sorry, Petition phase.

Hello again my dear community!
As my Fiancée and I always say we gotta start tomorrow the process, we keep remembering important details. (Petition Phase)
- For receipts for transportation and gifts bought in/used my country (Algeria), most of them are in French, Arabic or both French and Arabic, and when I went to translators they said (All of them) by Algerian LAW we can't translate receipts!??- For these receipts should they be signed? Is it us (the concerned) or the stores and so on?
- For Pictures (for evidence), we made a collage with Photoshop and we're printing them on regular A4 (Printer) Paper, is that doable? or should we print them at a photo booth?
Thank you very much!
And sorry for asking too much, it's such a stressing process.

Nothing really!
I contacted USCIS, talked with Tier 2 Officers not once but way more, and they said my case is all ready papers signed and just waiting for an appointment. We are now reaching 60 days, and still, there is no communique from them. It is really hard when left in the dark!
