  1. My fiancée who lives in the USA hasn’t filed her taxes for the past 2 years  and can’t afford to, she does a cash in hand job and earns an average amount. I’m so worried I won’t get granted my visa because she hasn’t filed her taxes. Also worried she could get in trouble for not filing her taxes or being able to afford it? Can you be thrown in jail or issued big fines for that?? In Australia you can!!! (That’s where I’m from).

She has a very rich father though - could he be used as a sponsor or beneficiary (whatever the term is) instead of her to get me to America on the k1, and not have her history  questioned? Also what risk is there of her being in trouble with the government for not filing any taxes for a few years?? She barely makes enough money to live comfortable but it’s still above the basic $25k a year. So:

    - I want to know what can happen to the USA resident if the USA resident hasn’t and can’t file their taxes due to low income , and

    -   If the USA resident has someone to agree to be the beneficiary it is easy to do or a nightmare?

    any advice appreciated thanks!

  2. I came over to America for the third time in a 6 month period to see my fiancée. I had a return ticket to go back home to Australia within 11 days however I ended up staying until now (it’s been almost 2 and a half months so I’m here legally under an esta basic tourist visa which allows you to stay up to 90 days). I’m wondering if anyone else did this -( extended their time in America after making it through customs and all that scary sh*t)- and had issues obtaining their k1 visa at all? I don’t want any issues.

this is how it played out

    - I came over in late November with a return ticket for two weeks

    - sent off our k1 visa a few weeks later together at the post office in Los Angeles

    - I’ve stayed for 75 or so days out of the legal 90 tourist days

    - heading back to Australia in less than two weeks and not coming back until I get my k1 fiancée visa and can live here legally

I was questioned at LAX when I arrived in late November and they made me out to feel like a criminal and had my bag and phone searched a luckily i got through the border security customs because I had a friend who told me this happened to her when trying to visit her fiancée and got sent back to Australia on “intent to migrate” so I didn’t want that to happen to me so I’m advance I deleted everything  on my phone and had nothing on me to make them think I was gonna overstay or try to immigrate (and I wasn’t. Everything I’ve done is legal) so I luckily got past the searches but I’ll never ever try that again because it was risky and i could have been turned back and denied entry to America for a really long time and would have ruined our visa application.

anyway I’m wondering if me staying for the legal 3 month period (not a day over!) and not sticking to my two week planned holiday here could look bad and get in the way of being approved for the k1? I’m heading back to Australia soon and wouldn’t have overstayed just wondering if anyone else has done the same. I wanted to experience life here with my fiancée before the k1 visa arrived!!!!!

  3. When i finally get to the interview stage in sydney australia (which i am so excited for... nowhere near that yet though as we havent even filed yet, waiting on name change documents..) i am wondering if they will ask to see my social media account / my fiancees? Can I volunteer to show them our social media accounts? Because theres sooooo much evidence of our relationship on there dating back a year. Videos of us together, comments of love and support from friends, family and the like... public declarations of love and commitment... I feel that it help our case a lot so i am wondering if they ask

    thanks

  4. I am on a payment plan with rapid visa so they can help me and my fiancee with my k1 petition. we both get easily overwhelmed and stressed out so we feel using them is a good idea as we knew someone who used it and had a great experience. we have not sent off our petition yet as we require more documentation and luckily they have actually helped prompt us to get more information to ensure we dont have our packet sent back to us and time wasted etc so i feel they are invaluable even if more expensive,

can you please tell me if you used rapid visa and have had a smooth good experience this far or not???

i want to know if they are truly helpful or a rip off

  5. I am wondering how long it took other people for their k1 fiancee visa to officially begin the filing process once received by rapidvisa??

My fiancee and I cannot send off our packet to rapid visa until later in the month when we have all our documentation..... and so I am wondering, once it finally gets to rapdivisa how long did it take to be filed with the USCIS with receipt it has begun???? thanks xx

  6. To everyone saying nobody said anything bad about lgbtq, I never said that anyone did! Lol!!

Some commented that I should have done a spell check because me writing “cash in hand  jobs” looked funny / insinuating the sexual meaning. And I laughed it off saying well we are lesbians anyway so whatever..  get me? ;) I’m having fun with it.  Miscommunications guys x

  7. She said she may have the last two years but the job before that she didn’t make any money as it was her own business in music and had zero income and she lived off her parents hand outs for a year while she focused on music. So if there’s nothing to file that would be fine for that year right?!! Some jobs before that were minimum wage cash in had roles that she believes were way below the taxable income .

oh and we are lesbians so I don’t care about the typo cause we don’t touch men ahahaha

  8. My fiancée who is the USA citizen sponsoring me has only done her tax this last year and the previous years she didn’t because it was cash in hand jobs and it was not much money so she didn’t realise she had to file her own tax she thought her employer did that. I’m wondering if, despite the fact she earns great money now, having a lack of tax records could get in the way of me being approved for a k1 visa? We are nervous about it now.
